We recently subcontracted Star Granite to install $3500+ of granite in our fully renovated kitchen…read more After the install we noted the following inadequacies: -Damage in many places (6 or so) to our brand new cabinets which necessitated replacement of drawer fronts and refinishing -Sink area not cut adequately to fit our sink/faucet although we provided both for measurement/layout beforehand -Sink area nosing didn't match on all sides of the sink, even leaving sharp edges in areas -Caulking which looked like it was installed by me (an amateur) -Schmutz left on the cabinets and floors due to dribbled liquids -No protection of newly refinished floors -Other quality issues like leaving a full shim exposed under our breakfast bar area. To their credit, over a period of several weeks, they corrected some of the above including purchasing/installing replacement cabinet parts and recutting the granite around the sink. They would not, even when asked, consider any adjustment to the final price even though they did not repair all damage and finally completed their services several weeks later than originally indicated. I would suggest seeking a professional company for your countertop install. It was a stark difference, almost comical, to compare the HVAC contractor we had in our home at the same time. Really helped us to understand what a professional contractor looks like and how they should care for your home.

We agreed on a price and he sent us to the local supplier to pick out our granite slab. Slabco was great to work with in picking out our granite. Then we went by the shop and picked out three remnant pieces to be cut into counters for three bathrooms. It was easy to set up an install date and they showed up right on time. The installation went perfectly. Mark and his two helpers removed the old counters and sinks and did an amazing job installing the new ones. I'm so thrilled with the great job that they did that I'm not waiting until the faucets are installed by the plumber before I post pictures. I would HIGHLY recommend Mark and his guys. When I pointed it out to Carlos the installer he said it was standard overhang which were longer than the original estimate. They corrected one of the overhangs but refused to correct the rest. Then Carlos was grinding / polishung the end of the granite and destroyed one of the new cabinet drawers. at first they denied doing it, then admitted doing it but weren't going to make it right and said that it was in my contract to expect damages to walls, cabinets etc. Then Lia told me they're not going to fix anything and I was on my own! Here the main topic is doors and windows. They are a overstock / scratch and dent type of operation so what you see is what you get, and when trying to match multiple windows can be a bit tricky if replacing a whole house worth or something to that effect. But the workers are really good about spending that time with you trying to match up what you need. Be sure to take a good look over your purchase for function, scratches, etc. They do seem to accept returns (in my case they have). They do have some trim, some flooring, kitchen/bath cabinetry, and a few other things so you might want to check them out if you are either in construction or a homeowner doing some major renovations - they have some really high quality merchandise (some of these doors are definitely better than you'd find in stock at other home improvement stores). They do not deliver so be sure to bring your truck, trailer, etc.
