As of 06.28.20, COVID-19 restrictions were not posted on the property's website or in the email confirmation I received. Complimentary continental breakfasts were still listed but not offered. No mention of restricted housekeeping procedures was mentioned. Reservations are required to use the pool but the front desk fails to answer the phone despite multiple attempts. While these restrictions may seem apparent to management, not every guest is from New York, engaged in the hospitality industry, or facing the same restrictions elsewhere. The room we were assigned apparently had not been occupied in weeks, perhaps months. Dead leaves & cobwebs were around the entry door. The room had a musty smell upon entering. Cobwebs were in the corners at the ceiling. Patio furniture had not been cleaned. The indoor/outdoor pool had not been vacuumed for some . According to my wife, the decor is due for an update but I didn't mind it. The TV is small & there is no microwave, both contrary to today's amenities at most properties. The charging stations for mobile devices is in the base of the nightstand lamps but are of little use when plugged into an outlet controlled by the room's wall switch. Fortunately, my phone which I use for my wake-up alarm did not completely drain of power overnight. Positive points are 1st floor king rooms have a private exterior entry only feet from the parking lot. Rear French doors lead to a small patio adjacent to a large common green space which could be an advantage if you have rambunctious children or a pet accompanying you (provided you clean up after it). The location is adjacent to the slopes & a short drive from the center of town. To say it is within walking distance of downtown probably exceeds most people's expectations. In winter & desperate to ski with more convenient lodgings unavailable, this would not be a terrible choice. In summer, I would consider booking elsewhere. Brought the kids (6 and 4) here for a session on the Lil' Tubers hill. It was out first time here,…read morethough I've been to Colden Tubing Co. before and the experience was pretty similar. There's a belt that goes up the big hill, lights turned on/were visible on the hills around 6ish (mid-February), and after a few days hovering around the freezing point, things were pretty smooth and slick, which made for excellent tubing. It was $15 for 2 hours per child on the little hill (no charge for adults) but no one is out there policing if you're out there a few extra minutes, if your kiddos can last that long. The big hill has folks at the top keeping things orderly and safe, so I'm sure they're checking more actively for tags. We went from 530-730pm on Saturday before winter break here and it was pretty quiet on the small hill. No waiting, pick of whatever lane we wanted, etc. It was great! And the hill itself is a very gradual incline, so even my relatively reserved 4 year old had no time jumping right in. And when you're done or need a warm up, some hot cocoa with whipped topping is waiting for $4 each. It was pretty tasty too with lots of mini marshmallows! The only downside was that the walk up area to the top for the little hill, which has no automatic belt, was iced over pretty good and was a little tricky for the little ones to walk up unless they went up the far side (which they kept forgetting to do and would get about 90% of the way and then lose all traction :D). All in all, a great time and must do with the family when venturing down this way for winter sports!
