They would only offer to reschedule. We were obviously disappointed but managed to whip up a truly incredible wedding locally in Raleigh instead. We decided we wanted to have a small vow renewal next year at Homewood so we could have the ceremony we imagined while also keeping our money in the Asheville community with our vendors. We asked if they would reschedule our date and give us a partial refund as the scope of the event would be significantly reduced. They again refused, again, citing the clause in the contract. We made a completely reasonable request - requesting that we be refunded the difference between what we booked initially and what the new event would have cost and they refused it. The entire situation left a really bad taste in our mouths and now we want nothing to do with these people. They showed themselves to be cold, cynical business people. They can throw a wedding in an empty room next year for all we care.

It was the perfect setting for our woodsy, romantic ceremony. The tree-lined path was my favorite spot on the entire property! We had our ceremony outside with a beautiful view of the mountains, which was absolute perfection. Our reception was held in the big wooden hall that was set up so beautifully. Our guests absolutely loved this venue! We received so many compliments saying it was one of the best wedding venues they've been to. I am so thankful for Arik, the venue manager, who was extremely accommodating and so kind to us, our familiars and all of our vendors. The staff at Yesterday Spaces are professional and helpful. I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day because they had it covered. With a lovely common area (sanctuary) with plenty of space and natural light for yoga or whatever your group activities may be. The downstairs area has a nice dining room with poured concrete floors. The kitchen space is a bit rough around the edges but it has everything one needs to put out great meals. Guest accommodations are located in the next building which is accessible on the ground level as well as via bridge from the sanctuary. Each guest room is a single with a twin bed, sink and window. The nicely appointed bathrooms are shared. I love this space for retreats of around 40 participants. I always enjoy coming to this peaceful spot to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for my clients. If you're looking for a quiet venue with natural beauty I encourage you to check it out.

We spent far too much time trying. The remotes are just plain weird. We couldn't figure out how to operated the thing, had to call the front desk. . The sink is in the bedroom. The bathroom is claustrophobic. Also no exhaust fan. . There was no housekeeping our entire stay (Thurs-Sunday). We ran out of toilet paper and couldn't even find a housekeeping cart anywhere on our floor. Our garbage was overflowing. We ate in our room a couple of meals and there was no place to get rid of the containers. . No microwave . The bed is comfortable but it holds heat. We both woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot. BREAKFAST . For heaven's sake, people, figure out how to keep a steady supply of coffee. There was always a line of people rushing the urn when they brought it out. Also, if you would move it a couple of feet away from the cream and sugar, we wouldn't have to wait for the person in front of us to put it in their coffee before they could move away and let the next person pour a cup. . The only choice for eggs is scrambled eggs held on a steam table. Therefore, cold rubbery eggs. . Anything that could be over sweetened was. I'm looking at you, Baked goods and yogurt. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE, it appears the rooms have been updated since all the earlier complaints. Ours was very clean and reasonably modern. The staff were very nice. The public spaces were spacious and we enjoyed having our breakfast on a table on the balcony. BREAKFAST: The bacon and the biscuits were excellent, and there was always fresh fruit. I didn't try the waffles or pancakes, but they looked like you would expect when piled up in a pan. Apparently people come here and pay $15 for the breakfast. I wouldn't.

If you're going to charge that much money and offer a buffet, then you need to have a variety of foods catering to a variety of peoples different dietary needs. Along with supply enough food so that you don't run out. I don't eat pork but it looked dried out and not very good anyway. I would not recommend coming to their restaurant. Also they could have offered me a refund when they couldn't suit my needs.

It truly doesn't get much better than this lovely view. They have a little Island surrounded by the river, with a bridge leading to it as a ceremony space for weddings. It is serene and inviting. They also have a large fire pit with built in tiered stone seating around it. The covered pavilion nearby makes a great space for a wedding reception, a family reunion or really any gathering. The grounds at Olivette are well-maintained, green and beautiful. There are wild flowers growing, healthy trees and lots of trails. The houses on the land are stunning. They're all new and from what I was reading on their website are energy efficient with beautiful views of the river or the forest. I would love to live here or attend another event here.
