Much less congested compared to the popular beaches in MA & no traffic jams. I usually only come here if I'm planning a trip to see my friends in Newburyport ;) Not sure how much the parking is; I park at a friend's house. Very calm beach ONLY THING IS, avoid going in the month of July, OR be very careful of the greenhead flies! They are everywhere here during that month & their bites hurt lol. Not sure if greenheads are only specific to this beach in particular, however, I've only really ever experienced this here.

Reporting live from 2025!!…read more I love this little beach. It's right down the road from my fave seafood shack and for years on my jaunts to NH I've passed it right on by. Welp not this year. I got my fried scallop plate and caught a brilliant sunset from a bench right at the sand's edge. I went around 730pm in early June so there were only like 4 cars and no parking fees. Your mileage is sure to vary now that summer is officially underway. The water looked beautiful and inviting but as you know Ms. Mands does not like walking on sand without a really good reason. And considering it was cool enough to wear a wool hat, there were no good reasons. There's a huge bathhouse in the lot as well as a relatively short distance from sand to water. I bet this place is a real hit during the peak of summer. I legit only came to sit, eat, listen to the waves, and watch the sunset - beyond that can't say much. But my 45 minutes or so here were 5-star all the way!

Perfect for kids! Safe location. Clean water. Not too many people. Quiet. Nice playground!read more

People seemed to be social distancing for the most part -- except for the group of 10 dudes smoking the marijuana just past the beach markers, UPWIND of the families with small children. Apparently it's legal to smoke in the open here. The beach is kind of a mixture of dirt and sand, more dirt than sand. The shallower parts were clear enough but wade out a little deeper and it's murky. Older reviews talk about the smell there. Well, to be fair it smells marine. Look across the water and you see cattails, so it's a little marshy. So, it has subtle sulfur odor. Went during the week so parking not an issue. Maybe 60 people there total? Oh and my kid got a leech on his ankle. Granted, there's probably leeches in all the lakes in NH.

There are some draw backs. The water is only 2-3 feet deep for a good quarter of a mile from the shore, especially at low tide it is a challenge just getting into the water because of all the damn rocks! Otherwise, it's nice being able to go for a swim and yet be a 5 minute walk from downtown Beverly. It seems to be a challenge to find a good place to swim, in Lynn the red algea ruins the beach (but I have heard it is well under control this year) and for something close and quick Dane Street will do.

Rynne Beach in Lowell is part of the Vandenberg Esplanade, better known as The Boulevard. This…read morepark is on the Merrimack River in Lowell and includes a long walking path along the water and an open-air stage across from Heritage Ice Cream. At the far end is the Lowell University Boat House. At the other end is Rynne Beach. The water isn't crystal clear (it's Lowell), but it really isn't very dirty. It's a nice sandy beach, good for children and adults. There's usually a life guard on duty in season. There are restrooms right behind it. There's a tiny parking lot there and a slightly larger one just on the other side of the stage area (next to the beach), but parking is allowed on the street. Picnics/bbqs and camping are allowed on the grassy areas on either side of the beach.

We later realized a prearranged pick up time would've been better than trying to call for a taxi and having a slight anxiety attack because it's an hour walk back to town and no one is answering! Lol! This is a beach person beach as there is no concession stand. The only major downside is no facilities so you know everyone is peeing in the water. I try to not think about that and in the end I truly had the best day of summer 2020 at this beach!!
