We picked the place because it was a state park and close to our grandparents on the way to fl....the views of the lake are perfect in the right spot....we had the room with 2 queen beds and it much bigger then any hotel/motel...the bar staff were really great even though they were also hosting a private event....the pool and playground were very close and with 2 teens and a toddler that was great...most definitely recommend for peace and quite or a family!!

Looking out the room, across the patio, & into the woods.

This resort did a great job with the remodeling of the lodge rooms some number of years ago. The furniture looks nice. The tile work looks great. The rooms are large. The bathrooms are huge. The fridge is pretty large. The doors are new and seem secure. The carpet is new and attractive. The pillows were of cheap foam, flat and firm. The bed was sufficiently firm. The staff is friendly. There were three problems. First, there was a very strong scent of cinnamon air freshener in the room. Second, there was a sticky residue from a spilt drink on the nightstand. Third, there were insects. I spoke to the staff about this. They were very apologetic, assured me that they want to run a clean place, and promised to speak with the rest of the staff. Being a state-run operation, my expectations were low. I think they exceeded my expectations in some ways; not so much with the bugs. Two things they could have done better: Since there is no interior hall like at some hotels, you can drive over and park right in front of your room's door. But you can not see the room numbers from the parking lot. The room numbers could be larger. They could also have shown me where my room was on a map instead of just saying it was way down at the end. I didn't check out the pool. I would have gotten up early to swim laps but the front desk said (lacking confidence) that the pool didn't open until 9am. But this place isn't geared towards business types that want to get up early to exercise. It's geared towards families. The food in the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Given the size of the rooms and quality of the decor, I'd say the rooms are priced fairly as long as they fix the problems I mentioned. Most decent hotels (like Holiday Inn and Marriott) that are out in the middle of nowhere like this charge less -- but they usually have more competition. I don't know how much competition this lodge has if you are going to Lake Eufaula or are coming to a meeting at the resort.

After driving through Eufaula for the past 15 years, I decided it was time to fish the lake. I rented a 1 bedroom cottage($127/night) that was right off a cubby hole of the lake. After trying catch a bass, I decided to ask the locals where are all the fish. I was informed that the hot time is from Feb to June and it being August you will catch catfish only. There are numerous alligators that patrol the area and I never felt unsafe. The cottage was spacious with a queen size bed, nice deck overlooking the water. I will be back next April.

Great and relaxing atmosphere. Service is amazing. Seafood on Friday is good. Sunday afternoon buffet is also good.

We visited the visitor center/gift shop the first day, before it closed at 5. Rangers were friendly and helpful. We got a map for our hike the next day, and bought some provisions for our stay at a Florence Marina State Park cabin up the road. The next day we hiked down the steep, rocky terrain to the signs for all the trails. We chose Canyons 4-5, which were flat, and less wet & less difficult to hike than Canyons 1-3, and other trails. The views were spectacular! We noticed the puddles of water & wondered why some were silvery and bright. When we asked the ranger in the visitor center/gift shop, she didn't know. The hike back up to the visitor center/gift shop required several stops at Boy Scout donated benches. Thank you, Boy Scouts! My asthmatic lungs needed the respites. At the visitor center, we used the boot cleaning mats and hose to wash off the red clay of Ga. On the way out of the park, we stopped at the restrooms on the right of the road. This is where we got the BEST photos! Stop, get out and walk to the fences. You will be thrilled with the view. We were. This is our now favorite park in GA.

There is loads of shade in the interior of the canyon and water does trickle through so expect to get a smidge wet and dusty from the canyon. The shop was loaded with great merch but the bathroom was out of service for us so everyone had to use the single toilet handicapped room which wasn't exactly great. The parking fee and map etc can be a little confusing so just be sure to go inside to make sure everything is on the up and up. The rim trail runs immediately around the visitor center just follow the fencing to the left to stay around the rim go to the right to go down into the canyon itself. Both are worth it. We spent more time in the canyon :)

They were comfortable, but too small for the two of us. The second night was better since we each had our own bed. The bathroom was small, and clean, with fluffy towels and every thing we needed - including plenty of hot water. The plastic mat in the tub kept me from slipping, and appreciative of bath mat & fan. Medicine cabinet with two mirrors was also appreciated. The flat screen television had plenty of channels. Unfortunately we kept losing the signal for the channels we liked (NBC was stuck on a dishwasher and CBS was stuck on a weather map one night & the CarFax Fox the next day). Husband was thankful that he could watch the Yankees/Blue Jays games 10/7/25 without incident. The second night we had absolutely no problems. Nice! The loveseat was comfortable to sit in to read and watch TV. The kitchen had everything we needed - working stove, coffee maker, microwave, full size fridge with freezer, sink and cabinets & drawers with everything we needed for meal prep & eating. We loved walking down to the marina to see the sunsets and lily pads. The weather was perfect. We did see some stars, but the Super Moon was so bright that we couldn't see more. The employees were friendly and helpful. Anthony helped us check in after hours. We did not realize that we needed to arrive before 5. We arrived at 5:30. He accompanied us to our cabin to be sure our entry code worked. It did! He was wonderful!! The next day Toya gave us our hang tag for the car and receipt for our stay. She was kind and patient. When we checked out, Anthony was with Toya at the visitor center. He helped us get ice from the ice machine outside. He started our stay here on a positive note, and ended our visit here on a positive note! He is one of the reasons we really enjoyed our stay here. Next time we'll bring friends. Then we can upgrade to the two bedroom cabin! We really hope Anthony will be here!

The park is clean and the staff is helpful. There is a campground, cabins and a boat ramp.read more
