The Rainier park, the park where Mt.Rainier looks way closer to you than it acutally is! getting a photo of the water and Mt.Rainier is one of the best things to capture at this park. plenty of parking and lots of ground to walk along with your family. this is one of the best well maintained parks to visit! its a long drive to reach this park but worth it!

Lake Tapps Park is a gorgeous park in the Lake Tapps / Bonney Lake area. The views of Mt. Rainier simply can't be beat when the sky is clear. The lake is gorgeous and this is one of the only public access spots since much of the shore is privately owned. I've only been in the off season but imagine (as others have mentioned) that the summer can be very busy.

One of the hot spots in the Bonney Lake/Sumner/Lake Tapps area. It can get quite busy during the summer season and parking can be packed! It's $7 per car and it cost more if your unloading a boat too. The lake itself is gorgeous and so clean to swim in. Mount Rainier can be easily seen from the location. There are numerous people floating in the water are various rafts, but still a lot of room for others to join. The grass looks nicely maintained and the bathrooms are clean. There's also a cabinet for people to borrow lifejackets thanks to the local fire department.

Picnic tables and benches, BBQ's and the water.

This park is beautiful! $7 parking wasn't bad, secured my spot and adventured with my little ones for a nice morning. Shallow entry to the water for my 2 year old to splash his feet around and wave at Paddle Boarders and boats. Clean benches and tables. There are ALOT of bumblebees right now because of the flowers growing in the grass field, but other than that we loved it!

A great day to go to Lake Tapps. We got a good view of Mount Rainier.

Lake Tapps is a beautiful park and lake! I've gotten accustomed to going to city parks where the parking is free but this is a Pierce County Park so when you come here be prepared to pay a parking fee (probably with cash too, I did not see any logos saying they accepted credit or debit cards). The parking fee when we went here was $7. This park's main purpose seems to be oriented to picnics around the lake and a launching point for boat owners that want to use the lake. What's really cool about this lake is that there are land strips where you can walk out on and get a good view of the surrounding area as well as Mount Rainier if you can catch it on a clear day. There is one particular land strip I was fond of as it was quite thin and at the very tip of it we dabbed our toes in the lake as it was a relatively warm day. There are many great spots to have a picnic or to cook outdoors and various concrete pits to discard the ashes and embers when you are done which are all very convenient to reach. I really enjoyed my trip to Lake Tapps Park and look forward to coming back. The scenery is great and the lake is a great one to enjoy as it is clear and clean which adds to the enjoyment even more.

Mt Rainer is easily viewable on a clear day

Very beautiful place to visit. Hard to get anywhere to park during summer but, winter is great and there's no need to hunt for parking. Beautiful views. Even during these tough covid times park remains open but, bathrooms are not. Park hours are less but, still accommodating enough since our days are now shorter. Perfect to relax and meditate or even just take a walk and exercise. Plenty of space to social distance is that's a worry for you. And lots of tables to utilize.

So I'm writing this review while relaxing on my paddle board with a gorgeous view of Mount Rainier to the South. My opinion may be skewed. It is a gorgeous day and I'm out here in the middle of the water. What can get better than this!? Oh... in case it's crossed your mind, my phone is protected in a waterproof case with a see-through window. This is a beautiful park located on the North side of Lake Tapps. It has restrooms, benches, BBQs, a swimming area, a boat launch, and loads of grassy area to have a picnic on. From end of May until September, there is a parking fee of $7.00 and $15.00 for a boat launch fee. That's the downside to this park but as a whole, I still find it to be cheap entertainment. I don't pay the boat launch fee as I can take off on my paddle board from any of the waterside beach areas. The summer park hours are from 6am - 8pm. They are very strict on the 8pm closing. There are staff members reminding you of the closing time and there will be staff waiting at the gate as well. I guess they want to go home too but won't be able to if you don't get your bum out of the park by 8pm. There's quite a bit of boat traffic and jet ski traffic on the water so be cautious. It also can get quite busy on a beautiful weekend. If you drive to the end of the parking area, there's more open grassy areas and more beach areas that are less crowded. For those that want to bring beer for their picnic... Don't! It's not allowed!

We were looking for a fun day trip today, and my significantly better half found this area. It's on the north end of the lake, there are lots of picnic benches and a nice walking path that follows the perimeter of the lake. Not many people here during the winter (even on a summer day) but I'd imagine this place is a major draw during the summer. The real draw here are the amazing views, especially of Mt. Rainier to the south. The pictures speak for themselves! **WARNING** there is poop (goose?) in high concentrations spread out throughout the park. I'm not sure if this is seasonal, but just be aware of it. Still worth the trip!

I stopped here for about an hour on a nice day in September. After checking it out I realized that it isn't really my kind of park but I was looking for a dog friendly place to walk Morris which this just happened to be. Don't remember if the park had waste bags for dogs or not. I think it charges an admission fee but I didn't pay it if it did. Actually I can't understand why anyone would pay to just enter here or launch a boat at this miniscule place. But to each his own. Nice view of Mount Rainier though. Another reviewer noted the police often make checks here. That sounds real enticing.... Nope

Ask the Community - Lake Tapps Park

Are we able to bring bbq grills?

If I remember correctly, there were some permanent bbq's there, so I do not see why not?

Very low key park in terms of crowds, but access was great to enjoy the water and enjoy the scenery, Mt.

To be a small botanical garden, there's a nice walking path and many, many beautiful flowers and plants to see. There are often local community events hosted here. Activities for the young to adults. They have classes that you can find and sign up for on their website as well. And the classes are affordable!! You may even see people taking wedding photos here because again it's beautiful. The park is ADA friendly. The path is dirt and pebbled but can be navigated with a wheelchair. There are bathrooms on site and a small shop. I have never purchased bulbs or plants from here but I know there is a big community around that. The coffee shop in the garden can get busy. But a benefit is we were able to charge my husband's wheelchair there on a visit. While the park is open every day, the coffee shop is not. Definitely this should be a spot for all locals. And not just a one time visit either.

Once the entire family met up, we climbed back into the car and headed to Bellevue. Not sur if it was due to the time. But we were surprised there was a lot of parking available. We spent a good 2-hrs here which included getting lost and finding other street entries into the botanical park from a school and from other busy street corner at the bottom of the park. Nice and shaded, quiet little creeks, plenty of seating for those that were inspired to journal, plenty of elderly people using this time to exercise and stretch. We enjoyed the different areas like the swinging bridge, the Japanese garden and even the little cafe they have there. Fairly priced items and plenty of tables to enjoy a refreshment and snack. By the time we were done, the gift shop was already closed. So I took the opportunity to drop a donation into the box instead.
