Our household has had this service for awhile, but in the past 6 months they have missed their pickup at least 6 times. We found out that it was due to regular driver absence. They need to do a better job with their sub drivers, the one my son talked to didn't even know we were on the route. RUDE EMPLOYEES!! So I called to cancel service my subdivision gets a discount using another. When calling Lakes I asked for my services to be canceled and the girl stated well your not getting a refund, I KNOW!! I had called and inquires about it. I asked that they pick up the cans because I have limited space with the others already dropped off, she said well your not getting a refund!! I KNOW!!! she then said it would take 7-10 days. FINE!! WELL.. 3 FREAKING WEEKS later.. I call again to ask when they are picking up their cans, this time the man says it takes ANOTHER 1-2 WEEKS MAYBE??? WTH!! GET YOUR FREAKING CANS OUT OF HERE!! I called them 2.5 weeks ago after reading they would begin picking up larger items again post pandemic. I inquired about large item pick up and the person I spoke to did not know and told me I would receive a call back. NEVER HAPPENED! I called and emailed several more times and was finally contacted today. Needless to say the conversation was short and the person that called me didn't even apologize for their customer service failure. When it's all said and done, customer service defines an organization. They receive a grade of "F" and I end my relationship with them at month's end. BTW the driver on my neighborhood route is the laziest of lazy. Don't know how many times I've had to pick up recycling items that fell out of the bin and he was too lazy to pick up. I love love love Lakes Disposal. From the office staff (who go above and beyond) to the men who operate the trucks. Friendly and great service. My son moved up here from Florida, had issues with his waste hauler. Called Lakes and even though they do not service his neighborhood she provided him with sound advice that he was able to take back to his waste company. Found out they were over billing him. Now that's customer service to have taken the time to help my son who wasn't even a Lakes customer. Good people! read more

being environmentaly pro active, we have trained our kids to recycle. we wash, remove caps and also labels from cans but this company just picks up the recycling with regular trash ! even though i have called twice, it is still not being collected separately. i am going to look into another company... read more

I was in the middle of transitioning ownership and never received notice that Lakes Disposal would be my new disposal service. One day I was surprised by new Lakes cans in my driveway from a team distributing them and was told the new service was beginning and Lakes would notify me. After my garbage service stopped and multiple attempts calling Lakes, I was still charged a late fee after justifying notification to me as a new resident failed. That's poor customer service starting out of the gate so I don't expect stellar anything from this service going forward from their Customer Service Dept. Friendly enough at first paying them right away but when asked to waive that late fee, Yes that tone changed immediately and I was accused of not doing my own due diligence to boot by a sassy young lady. I have using Lakes Disposal for over ten years now here in Ingleside. Have yet to see a price increase. For the money this company is the best. The office staff listens to their customers. They explain exactly what their policies are before accepting a new customer. It has been my experience with a number of disposal services that they ALL insist that you put out your trash before 6 am. They did advice me when I started with them that it is best to take out the trash the evening before pickup. As for picking up recyclables they use a separate truck. Great Service! Just got hung up on by lakes disposal . I wanted to know why my neighbors who I recommended their service to are paying four dollars less than me . Was told it was a promotion . None of these neighbors heard about this promotion . I questioned her about my bringing on several customers to their company and I get a rate increase for doing that . There was a terrible storm and I went outside to put my totes to the end of my driveway and as I was walking towards the end the Lakes truck goes flying bye, I yelled and do did my daughter did, but he didn't even look my way. So I called the office and spoke to ( who ever answered the phone) advised her if my issue and her response was with the rain and it should be out st 6am they couldn't come back. Omg my daughter drops off my granddaughter at around 5:45. I went with them because of a $20.00 difference what a MISTAKE THAT WAS. I guess the saying you pay for what you get is TRUE. Literally THE WORST customer service I've EVER received (I don't even consider this interaction to be customer service, more like lack of). Called with one question, and ready to pay my bill but the woman on the phone was absolutely so rude. Cancelling my service right away. This company charges you for garbage and recycling but they throw it all in one truck, and when you call to complain they give you some bs story bout only sending 1 truck down the road due to weather and safety... This is the 4th time I've watched them do this and guess what... ITS SUNNY AND ABOVE FREEZING so where exactly is the "safety" issue?? The other 3 times were over the summer, apparently this company doesn't realize people have cameras that record this stuff. I wish I had read the bad reviews before choosing this company. Never again will I be using their service. I have never ever written a bad review but this experience was by far the worst I've had with any company. I'm not one to complain either. The office manager Julie has absolutely no customer service skills, is rude and condescending. When we asked to speak with someone above her because we were done arguing with her she said only the owner could talk to us. We asked her when we could expect a call she said she didn't know. Had so many smart comments to say to us it was really unbelievable that a manager would down talk to a customer like that. We were simply just trying to have a simple conversation that obviously turned ugly. I really doubt we will get a call back from someone above her. For this we will be cancelling their service. We are first time home owners and it took them one month to really screw this up!! I highly DO NOT recommend this company with a manager who talks to customer like that. read more

Dishonest company. I was their residential customer and was not happy with their service so I cancelled and requested a refunded verbally and in writing. After I cancelled the companies owner (or as she put it - Half Owner) argues with me over dumb stuff and tells me I will get my refund when her trash can and recycling bin are returned. I phoned and phoned and wrote emails for her to pick up the bins and they finally picked up the bins on on April 11, 2012. I even took a picture of the guy who picked up the bins and have them for proof because I knew this company was fucked up. So I called and the half owner is Janel and I speak (not professionally) and she said I would get my refund and she also puts this statement in writing. So now, it's June 7th and still no refund. We have received excellent service over the past years. Our driver is polite, never leaves any trash in the yard that might have blown out, and he's consistent on his time, so we always know what time to have the trash bins at the curb. Customer service is polite too read more
