While traveling southbound on I-95 near mile marker 100, my vehicle, operating on cruise control,…read moreencountered a dump truck that appeared to be overloaded with 3/8-inch stone. These stones were observed to be dislodging from the truck, presumably due to inadequate tarp coverage, and subsequently impacting my vehicle's windshield and hood. Upon safely passing the dump truck, I recorded its contact information. After reaching my destination, I contacted the owner of the dump truck. During our conversation, the owner stated that once stones fall from their vehicles and make contact with the ground, they are no longer liable for any resulting damage to other vehicles. This incident occurred on a Friday, and the owner indicated he was traveling to Bingham, where he anticipated limited cellular service. He committed to following up with me on Monday and requested that I contact him again if I did not hear from him, as he intended to discuss the matter with the driver. Given the owner's initial assertion of non-responsibility, I anticipate that he will not assume liability for the damage to my truck. It is important to note, for future reference, that in the state of Maine, if stones dislodge from a dump truck and impact the roadway, the dump truck operator may not be held responsible. The owner also suggested that I may have been following too closely. I clarified that my vehicle was operating on cruise control, which inherently maintains a safe following distance, thus refuting the claim of tailgating. Furthermore, the owner expressed concern regarding the delay in reporting the incident. I explained that, as a responsible driver, I waited until I reached my destination, which was over an hour away, to safely access my phone and retrieve the necessary contact information.

Normally I would give this project a 5* review working with Jeff, but I can't after how the project…read morestarted off. The project started off in 2019 with someone at Davis besides Jeff or his wife. During the quote I was pushed hard to use reclaim asphalt and every question I asked, the answer was it hardens up and it's like pavement.. after several postponements, the driveway was done. In less than three months I had divets and came to realize that all reclaim asphalt is, is gravel with a little bit of asphalt dust mixed in. It does harden, but you still have a gravel driveway. I also have a culvert under one section and that section was completely washing away. So the project was a mess and was stuck paying the other half of their contract to pave the driveway . I have the company 1* for this poor performance. I then reached out to Jeff and his wife regarding the project, as I wouldn't work with the other person, and they were a real delight to work with. The communicated with me, they sent me information about new driveways, and kept me in the loop regarding everything. I just had the driveway finished and it looks wonderful. Jeff worked the area over the culvert and created runoffs from the driveway so the water goes into the culvert rather than pooling on the driveway. Much better experience..
