Terrible ! Do not let these people swap out your meter. They are in a hurry and tagged 3 out of 4 items in my home. they are rude, have no patience and have no time to make sure everything is working again before they leave. Showed up unannounced at my door demanding to see pool heater. Refused, he shut off gas meter for pool heater. Told me he can't shut off gas to entire house. I told him I will go to the media about this outrageous incident. Told me I can't use heater until problems are repaired. Keep off my property. read more

Enbridge changed the meter and turned off the gas.. Sent Lakeside to check the furnace and hot water tank so the gas could be turned back on..The tech tried very very hard to tag both. but couldn't find a reason.. Hung around for more than half an hour looking at the same furnace and Hot water tank.. Asked me twice to go upstairs.... Don't leave them alone. Been w/o hot water since Sept 2/22 today is Sept 7/22. Lakeside neglectfully and willfully did not advise me that they had replaced the gas meter so was unaware that I also had no gas for 5 days. No note on door, no phone, call nothing. I believed my old water tank had finally died. Today I assumed I would have hot water when tank was exchanged which I had arranged only yesterday (post long wknd). When the tech went to turn off gas at the meter it was locked. Shock of shocks! Had no idea the meter had been exchanged. In their literature sent by Enbridge it states that a note will be left if tech is unable to enter residence. There was never a note left. I had previously written to Enbridge regarding 2 previous no show appts. Have still not had a reply. All you get at Lakeside is a lovely person who does try her best to help at a 1 866 no. You cannot talk to lakeside directly. What a crappy way to run a business. Today, the 6th day of no hot water, I was told a tech would be here between 10 and 2. Am happy I did not need my furnace but no hot water is cruel and unusual punishment for a senior citizen. Now I am out the cost of a new water heater too! Time is ticking on the 4 hour wait time. beware!!! Enbridge subcontracts lakeside gas co to relight furnaces... Enbridge did work on my street after meters were upgraded. So they shut off the gas and left me a number to call to have my furnace relit. Guy showed up from lakeside but couldnt relight my furnace after taking it all apart. Said he didn't know what's wrong with it and was packing up to leave- i told him it worked before and i want it relit and put back together.. He said oh ya well too bad im not doing it..then in haste, issued me a warning tag for service!!. Refused to put my furnace pieces back together and told me to hire someone. Then issued me two more warning tags . One with regards to my fireplace after i told him his service was unacceptable!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGEOUS SCAM !! .left message with company no one called me back. read more

I allowed these people to enter my phone as I received a notice from Enbridge that a meter exchange was necessary. It was a horrible experience all around. Person removed my old meter and left the property for hours with no meter connected to the home. I had to call closer to the end of day to ensure they were coming back. I was told to wait another 1.5h for him to arrive. It was not acceptable to me as the house was rented so I've been waiting outside in the cold during covid for hours already. Upon arrival, I explained I wasn't happy about being left in an emergency situation. He genuinely didn't care and I believe he may have written up a warning to justify shutting my heat off. When I hired an HVAC to replace the leaky valve, I explained my experience. They tested the system and there was no leak. Several days without heat, a new purchased part and a service call to identify there was no issue with my system. Unfortunately I don't even feel comfortable formally reporting this to the company as I'll run the risk of some other person coming over and randomly shutting my heat off. Lesson learned - don't insist that waiting all day for someone who started a meter replacement, left mid way creating an emergency situation and then turned my boiler off leaving me without heat for several days, a newly purchased expensive part and a service call for no reason is not acceptable. I followed Enbridge's recommendation and allowed Lakeside Gas to come change the gas meter. Lakeside came and identified a "gas leak" that we didn't know about, did not connect the gas meter and left. He did not attempt to try to find the leak, let alone fix it. We had to call someone else to come look for the supposed leak. Someone is coming tomorrow. However, there is no gas supply, so I don't know how this person is supposed to find the tiny leak. It is my understanding that Lakeside/ Enbridge are the only ones authorized to connect and turn on the gas. They disconnect the meter and leave. How is even the best gas tech supposed to find a gas leak when there is no gas in the system. Lakeside wants a certification that the "leak" is fixed before they will turn on the gas. However, you need gas in the system to find the leak! It seems that Enbridge has not given Lakeside adequate authority to do a complete job. Do not use Lakeside! Call someone on your own who can fix any problems they find instead of causing larger, more immediate problems by disconnecting the gas and leaving things in a state that cannot be fixed! read more

My Toronto gas provider Enbridge Gas sent me a letter that my gas heater installation is due for maintenance, which is to be performed by Lakeside Performance Gas Services. I scheduled a day & time, with 1 week advance. Received 3 email confirmations / reminders for the maintenance date, even on the day before. However, they never came. We waited more than 4 hours for them. No notification, no email cancellation or anything. I called and the lady on the phone was telling me they had other project priorities that day. She said they tried calling me, but they were not allowed to send emails to inform me about changes. What a joke in today's internet-connected world. I asked why I received an email confirmation the day before, she kept explaining to me that I should read the exact email wording and that it cannot be about a scheduled maintenance but only about a meter exchange. Discussing with this human was pointless, as she must have been from another planet. Will never schedule anything with them again. read more

Unacceptable service!!! This company was subcontracted by Enbridge to do the replacement of gas meters on our street. We were not given any advanced communication that the gas would be cut off and we came home to a house without gas heating in early April. The outside temperatures were below 0 celcius and our house temps had consequently dropped throughout the day while we were at work. We couldnt cook dinner because our stove is also gas. We called the number provided and were told that it may take them until 11:30pm that night in order to get the gas connected and our house heated again! I also received unacceptable service from the dispatch women who essentially hung up on me when I phoned back at 9pm to ask if the gas would be on soon (so I could finally cook dinner). In the end, we were left with no heat overnight. A frustrating experience overall! read more

Stay clear of this company that lacks any care or consideration and will shut off your gas if you are in bed, sick and don't answer the door - The most outrageous employees - Larry - manager is a total jerk who hung up on me - the lowly tech - MIKE - 416-825-5580 cut off gas with one day warning whiel we were trying to deal with our son who had just had a major seizure and was in the hospital - us in a freezing house - no hot water and couldn't care less about our emotions and trauma. They read the metter 3 days before we went away . They ad sent out the most disgusting dirty person to change the meter with NO ID previously. and I called Enbridge to warn them of the fraud - yet Mike and Laryy were just fine cutting offthe gas wheil we were away and we couldn't bring our son from the hospital because of their outrageous actions read more

Came to replace a part on our meter with no notice, no permission to come onto the property. Cut out a huge chunk of our stucco and left the gaping hole - over $1000 damage.
