Receptionist extremely rude. I don't know who she thought she was talking to but I'm not a child.

This is regarding the NP (Heather Moore) that tended to me as I experienced discrimination and other prejudices from Dr. Prathipati's office. Due to misdiagnosis I kept getting sent elsewhere for things most practitioners offer in their practices, that and it's obvious that there's favoritism here. I kept watching her jot things into my health records that she wasn't seeing me for, I had to tell her myself as I informed them about my therapist. I hate medical practitioners that aren't proactive and have condescending behavior towards others they dislike, through blatant actions I could tell she's unprofessional. Maybe she should learn to put personal opinion elsewhere as it doesn't belong in the medical world. I waited for a referral for over a month due to their "error" and eventually found out I had an ovarian cyst due to prolonged waiting. She needs to take that stick out her ass. You don't need schooling to understand discrimination or when they treat others better than you due to ignorance. It was the same BS every visit, I can feel your negative tone through your body language but apparently I suffer from "intellectual disability" and can't comprehend that? Tell it to some other dimwit. They act like I can't see the changes in my health notes, I'm a Virgo and we're known for being analytical. Get a better person to tend to your health. read more

Dr. Prathipati has been my PCP for about 4 years. She has always been kind, thorough, and listens. I have never felt rushed and my appointments are typically on time. The office staff has also been great and is always responsive. When I had strep throat in February, I was given a telehealth appointment the day I called and had started antibiotics that night. When I started here, my diabetes was out of control and now my A1C is 6.7 (at one point, it was over 13) and I have lost over 20lbs. I have never had any problem with referrals for any issue. Waited a half hour and then it felt like she couldn't get me out of her office fast enough. I felt dismissed and like she didn't take much interest in me as a patient. She didn't ask me many any questions about my symptoms or to get a better understanding of my medical history. I felt like I had to really advocate for myself the entire time. read more

Been going there for many years get great individual care for each member of the family. Dr is very caring and through. Front and back office staff excellent. Easy to make a appointment and for the most part on time. Dr. Parthipati does not rush your appointment she listens to what you have to say. read more

I have been seeing this physician for about 10 years now. While she is a decent doctor, her bedside manner is somewhat cruel. If you have several medical issues, she will only treat you for one then make you come back for the second one. They were unable to diagnose my hand condition after repeated office visits asking them what is wrong with my hands?? I had to get a diagnoses from a Physical Therapist who was working on an entirely unrelated issue, and when I told the Dr they finally gave me referrals to hand specialists. So I ended up wasting several copays trying to get a diagnoses only to get it from the PT! 5 surgeries later, my hands are still not right and this doctor does not seem to care. This really bothers me! I see the comments are disabled on her Sharp Bio video, and I can see why. She did not even remember I had a son, yet she brags about how great her patient relationships are in the video. So, I've been going to this office and receiving care here since late June of this year. The experience has been good overall. My only issue was with the doctor(s). They seem a little hurried and impersonal. They get the job done though, can't complain really... In particular, the front desk ladies and the office manager are quite nice though! I should have googled "Lakshmi Prathipati" before my appointment to have better prepared myself for the terribly rude, discourteous, and disrespectful encounter I had with this doctor. A quick google search and I was sadly comforted to find that I am not the only one, but rather one of MANY people, who was almost shocked with how I was treated (I do not think it is ever appropriate for a doctor to scoff at or insult their patients). Reviews on vitals.com lead to a long list of people who had similarly terrible experiences. I suggest you look her up before choosing to make an appointment with this doctor. I would highly suggest finding another office if you have that option. read more

Horrible experience at this medical office with Dr. Prathipati. My primary care physician is listed as Kumara but Lakshmi saw me instead. It's the first time I've used this insurance and been to this office. She was incredibly cold, condescending, and impersonal. Terrible bedside manner. I went in because I've been having issues with my tonsils and she visibly grimaced when she had to examine my throat. She shoved the tongue depressor so far down my throat I actually gagged. When she examined the rest of my body, I felt like I was being man-handled. She did not tell me what she was examining and her touch was very rough. In our conversations, she spoke with a lot of disdain and she was very condescending. Half way through I just didn't want to deal with her anymore and I wanted to get out of the office and find a doctor that knew what they were doing. At the end of it, she prescribed nothing and referred me to a specialist. When pressed for the details on where to get the referral and how it worked, she just shrugged me off with an "Okay, thank you" and didn't even look at me. The front desk informed me that it'll take about a week for the referral authorization to go through so I'll continue having these throat problems for another week. I'm frustrated beyond belief. It's ridiculous that a doctor behaves this way and interacts with their patients this way. I almost can't believe it. I've already put in a request to change my primary care physician. I'm never going back to this place. If you signed up for new insurance and you're assigned this doctor, switch your PCP and avoid her at all costs. read more

Do your research first. This "Doctor" has no interest in helping you. She is rude, doesn't answer your questions and only cares about collecting on insurance. The wait times are ridiculous. I'm glad I finally changed. read more

I went through a number of Primaries (PCPs) before I found Dr. Prathipati. If you are the type of person that is offended when a Doctor tells you to "sit" instead of smiling and shaking your hand, then I suggest you find another doctor. I recommend Dr. Prathipati because she is blunt, highly intelligent, and efficient. If you are looking for someone sweet, go talk to one of her front office staff, they are all incredibly nice and can assist you with getting your paperwork from other doctors and your referrals sent out. I hadn't seen a Western Medicine doctor in over 8 years because herbs and acupuncture had been able to resolve all of my issues. When I needed an MD, I couldn't seem to find one who wasn't deafened by their own enormous egos until I met Dr. Prathipati. I'm not sure when society began to believe that great doctors had to be extroverts and gregarious, but its patently untrue. Dr. Prathipati is great because she is highly knowledgeable and surrounds herself with a staff that balances her practical nature. read more

I couldn't give no stars so I had to put one. Worst service ever I can't believe how Dr. lakshmi prathipati spoke to me, I went in to get clearance for work since I injured my neck (not work related injury) and I showed up at 12 to the office and was told to come back at 2 and that it would be a wait since there was no apt available I was there till 5 when I was seen by the doctor, in between that time of waiting I wanted to change my doctor cause I've had multiple bad experiences with them in the past and waiting this long made this experience there even worse, I called my insurance switched doctors and they said that the apt for today should be covered and fine, I went in doctor saw my neck suggested PT and a neck brace, while I was waiting for the note in the waiting room doctor comes out super rude saying that since I changed my doctors she can't do anything for me unless I pay for the visit she demanded I pay or leave I tried to explain that my insurance okayed it but she wasn't trying to listen she talked over me and was flat out rude in the waiting room she could have called the insurance as I did as soon as I left there and they said I was ok to be seen by her, I made a complaint with my insurance against her this is not ok to talk to patients like this. Don't bother signing-up with Dr. Lakshmi Prathipati, SHE'S OUT OF TOWN AND HER HUSBAND IS SEEING ALL OF HER PATIENTS, DISPENSING MEDICATIONS UNDER HER NAME! The worst part of this is THEY WON'T SEE YOU IN OFFICE! THEY ONLY 'SEE' PATIENTS THROUGH TELEPHONE CALLS--NOT VIDEO CALLS! Absolute waste of time and money! Lakshmi Prathipati is out of town due to COVID-19 (according to her office staff); how is she able to accept new patients if she can't care for them? However, her office is still accepting new patients which she isn't seeing (how is she able to charge for care SHE is not providing?) and her husband is seeing them. Is her husband also collecting two paychecks because of what appears to be bait and switch? I wonder about how that works. read more

DO NOT VISIT THIS OFFICE! I recently enrolled into a new insurance and had selected a PCP with UCSD however, they are no longer accepting new patient's at the moment and I was assigned to Dr. Lakshmi Prathipati randomly (no big deal). I called the office to schedule an appointment WITH Dr. Prathipati and was given a date. My appointment was scheduled for 12pm. I arrived at 11:50am. Found myself still waiting in the lobby at 12:42pm. The girl at the front desk acknowledged the patient who was waiting before me and said "Ms.__ sorry for the long wait but you are next".... as if I wasn't sitting right next to the lady I was completely ignored. A man came out into the waiting room and says "Next patient" ... How RUDE, you don't acknowledge the patient by their names? Nonetheless, I proceed to the exam room. The man says "hello how are you?" I reply and say " Hi, WHO are you?" He says "My name is Joe I am the P.A" At this point I'm under the impression the PA will see me 1st and then the M.D will come in the room ...NOT THE CASE! The M.D WAS NOT IN THE OFFICE the day of my appointment. Joe proceeded to ask me where I work, I informed him and he says "oh you must make good money there". I'm wondering what that has to do with my visit but alright ... then Joe says "so, why are you here?" ... WHAT?! I'm here to get care established with my PCP smh. I told Joe I would like to have my birth control implant removed he asked me the name of It and then procceds to pull out his iphone, I assumed he was sending a text message he asked me how to spell the name of the B.C as he was using GOOGLE to look up info on it ...WUB U TEA F! Joe then says "Okay let's take your vitals" His instrument to examine my eyes and ears wasn't working and he stated "strange, I just used it, I don't know why it's not working" He slams the drawer shut, pulls out his iphone again, cuts the flashlight on and says "stick out your tongue and say ahh" EXCUSE ME!!!! Appointment was DONE at this point. I grabbed my purse and as I left Joe states "ohhhh very nice purse huh". He told me to follow up in a month. I got into my truck and called my insurance sitting right there in the parking lot and DEMANDED they change my PCP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Needless to say I will not be visiting this office even if they were giving away $1,000.00!!! And I told my insurance DO NOT PAY them because my initial visit WAS NOT WITH THE M.D and DO NOT PAY for the vitals because HE DID NOT USE A MEDICAL INSTRUMENT! BAD, BAD PRACTICE! This office should have been more mindful of how they do things, they never know who they will be treating! read more

PLEASE DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR AND SUPPORT HER BUSINESS! If I could give her negative stars I would! My mother had a stroke and saw this doctor. She was SO insensitive and apathetic to my mother's condition. I can't believe she is even a doctor as her bedside manner is horrendous! Her words and how she spoke concerning the prognosis were so incredibly negative we both cried in the car. Don't get me wrong, I know stroke victims can have a long road to recovery, if at all. HOWEVER, the doctor doesn't have to kick you while you are down as she did! She didn't give ANY suggestions as to what we can do to improve my mother's condition. All she said was there was NO hope and NOTHING we can do. We went home and did research on ways to improve mobility. In San Diego, we seem to always be in a rush, get it, get out, with little questions and even littler answers. however this is not the case with this staff. The Women of this office that I spoke with today (in particular, Jane, Stephanie and Angie) Answered all my questions, The Doctor (even though he was busy due to the limitation of our heath care) was very informative and I could FEEL that he really cared about me and my issues and not about the almighty dollar. If I could give this failure of a decent human being 0 stars I would. My first time meeting her she was impersonable and rude. I chalked it up to her having a long day or something although that's an awful first impression.She also didn't seem enthused that I asked her for an inhaler for my asthma. It was like I offended her. My next and final appointment she was even worse! I told her my throat was sore and ears hurt and she looked with that device all doctors use and said bluntly "I don't see anything." And she clearly wasn't joking. So I asked her "because you don't see anything that means I don't have pain?" Like seriously? How sh*tty! You're not supposed to have to convince your doctor that you're not feeling well! It's like pleading a case with her. Which is even more ludicrous because I had avoided her unfriendly demeanor for as long as I could until I felt incredibly unwell and had to see her. And the bright doctor did see that my nose was blocked was too dumb enough to see that I had a huge Polyp! Someone please take away her license. She's a disgrace to all PCP's everywhere. What an awful experience. It is my fault I chose her as a PCP. Nowhere online does she have any good reviews. Sincerely, know better now. read more

Dr. Prathipati isn't the worst doctor I've seen, but the front office's phone habits are. They very rarely answer the phone during normal business hours (about 5-10% of the time I call, at best), and when they do, their demeanor could definitely be improved. Also, don't even bother leaving a message, as every time I have, they have failed to call me back. The only way I can get stuff done through her office is to continually call them until I get through, to the point it could almost be deemed harassment. I shouldn't have to hold someone's hand to get them to do their job. It's pretty ridiculous and after several months of this, I'm over it. If she could improve her staff, she might have a better rating, but I don't foresee that happening anytime soon. If you have a choice, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

Horrible experience! I took my 21 year old, non-verbal, autistic son, who also suffers from epilepsy to Dr. Prathipati. She was rude, never examined him, outside of taking his blood pressure. She flat out asked us "so what do you want from me?". Excuse me!!! How bout some doctoring Doctor!! We were so annoyed and distressed about her lack of interest in his condition and needs we requested immediate transfer to a new physician.
