We have had several homes painted both inside and out and own several rental properties, so we have worked with many painting contractors over the years. Hands down, Gregory and Transformational Color are at the absolute top of any of our future painting needs. Gregory's integrity stood out immediately. Our initial walk-around consultation was in November, and instead of rushing the job in poor weather, he thoughtfully suggested waiting until spring for the best results. True to his word, he proactively followed up in April with a scheduled color meeting and a comprehensive proposal. To be honest, I originally read about his "color session" with some skepticism, thinking it was just a simple meeting to pick colors. It is so much more than that. You have to live with these decisions, so it needs to be a truly considered process. Don't pass up on the opportunity to have Gregory pick your brain about it. It will be worth it, believe me. During our color consultation, he offered fantastic expert advice. We went through several color changes prior to making our final decisions. We actually ended up adding to and modifying the plan twice--once suggested by him and once requested by me--which included changing the color of the downspouts versus the corner boards, and finally changing the rain gutter color and some major panels in the front of the home. He had one fantastic crew member who did an incredible job managing most of the prep work, pressure washing, daily clean-up, and touch-ups. I received a call back within in a few hours and Sabas made an appointment with me at my convenience. Sabas was on time, curtious, and really listened to what I wanted. I had been wanting to add on to my bedroom and had met with other contractors but the quotes I recevied were way out of my budget. I mentioned to Sabas I wanted to add on to my bedroom and asked him what he thought it would cost. He gave me a verbal estimate and it was so reasonable so I asked him to give me a written estimate for the shower, floors, and the addition. When I received the written estimate it was very detailed of what was included and in the same price range he verbally provided. I made the decision to move forward and he connected me with a archetect/designer to draw my plans for the addition. The process with both the designer and Cruz Construction was seamless and communication was so easy. As I worked with Sabas and his company over time I added the painting of my cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, replacing the hardware on the cabinets, replacing a window, and re roofing my home. His employees were kind, hardworking, and reliable. They cleaned up after themselves, were quiet, and did superior work. I have worked with many contractors throughout the years. I had a quote in hand from a contractor we knew, thought it might be high so I started looking at other options. Tried to get multiple quotes from local Gilroy painters, only Tim responded and he also did excellent follow-up. Work was done very professionally; they spent a great deal of time pressure washing the trim and also cleaned the stucco exterior walls as well! Prep work done correctly is clearly very time consuming and Tim's crew was very careful to mask off and protect the areas not being painted. I think they must have used a ton of caulking as there were weathering and expansion cracks and gaps to be filled in the wood everywhere. Work was completed on 11/5/2021, looks incredible ! One guy came out and said I would have a quote by the end of the week and I never heard from him again!! Luck may have it I was somewhat forced into working with Francisco Huante. The best sub contracting decision I have ever made. The quote was timely and beyond reasonable for the job. He said it would take 3-4 days and it took 3.5! His crew were not only respectful and courteous but I have never seen a painting crew take so much time and check their work as they went. At night they would leave and I would inspect the work. When I would find a correction they would also find it the next day and complete the work perfectly without me even mentioning it!! Do yourself a favor when painting in the Santa Cruz area and call Francisco first, save yourself the headache! The only challenge is he is so good his schedule can get tight.
