The food was prepared by the time we made the 2 minute drive to get it. I love that customers sit in the car until they receive a phone call that their order is ready. It cuts down on congestion at the window. I smiled when I opened the container once we got home. The catfish was on a piece of parchment and the flap of the paper was over the slaw and beans so that they were contained. I don't like messy plates and they exceeded my expectations in that area. The fish was fried to perfection. It was golden and crunchy and pretty. I didn't know I'd get hush puppies and I appreciated the surprise. I had never seen pickles and onions served on top of slaw, but it gave me an idea for what to do with my leftover fish. I'm excited to have a sandwich tomorrow! The beans were dark and beautiful. They appear to be pintos mixed with black beans. They had a deep flavor and thick gravy. The hush puppies are amazing on their own and even better when I break a piece and let it sit in slaw juice for a few seconds. That fish though!!! It was definitely the star of the show with amazing background performers. I'm looking forward to trying a something new next week. I didn't have a chance to see a menu before Dad ordered to see my options. There was one downside with the meal, which actually worked out perfectly. Mom wanted a cheeseburger with fries, but didn't tell us until after the order was placed. She was a bit disappointed. When we unpackaged the food, one of the orders had fries (slightly over-cooked) instead of beans. I lightened the mood, "Look at gawd! You got half of what you wanted!" I just hope the person who got beans is as Pollyanna-esque about the mixup. I'm not sure if this is a current menu or prices. Call to confirm.
