The Good: *Lots of history here, as the Johannes Harnish Farmstead, Christian and Emma Herr Farm, Hans Herr House, Lime Valley Covered Bridge, Neff's Mill Covered Bridge, Park Site, Rock Ford Plantation, and Weber-Weaver Farm are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. *Great centralized location that always seems to be about 20-30 minutes from most of the more popular sites to visit in Lancaster County, as well as adjoining cities/towns. *If you love driving country roads like I do, then this is your place. *Lots of lots of farmland, including moo cows. *Really close to great shopping, if that's your thing. There's some great antique shops not too far, and The Shops @ Rockvale (outlets) are also just a stone's throw. The Meh: *Really not much to see in the town itself beyond the historical stuff. The Ugly: *While I love driving the country roads, walking them is a whole nutha story. Little to no shoulder makes it a pretty dangerous endeavor; I tried to take a walk to do some street photography but turned back after just a few minutes. I called Shred-it out of Lititz and they gave me what seemed to be a fair quote. That is where it ended. When the job was done, we received a bill with $187.41 in extra incidental charges! Never once were these incidental charges mentioned in the initial quote which was in writing and confirmed. When I called to question these extra charges a person just kept reading some mumbo jumbo from a script. Bad business.

Which says a lot about the way the business is ran. The guys working the lot were very knowledgeable and took time to answer my questions. I had also reached out on Facebook with some questions and they responded almost immediately sending pictures, videos, pricing, etc. And from a woman's perspective I can say it was refreshing. I wasn't treated like I didn't know what I was doing, which more often than not is what happens when I walk in to other places like this. I just can't say enough about the staff. Sahds is so uniquely different than any other scrap yard/metal recycling place I've ever been to.
