Had an old TV we needed to get rid of and the borough told us to go to Lancaster to recycle it…read more Saturday was the only day we could make work so we tossed the TV into the car and off we went. Pretty easy to find and its laid out drive thru style which was extremely helpful. Other centers I've been too make you back in, pull around, etc causing back ups and confusion. Signs were well marked and laid out showing where to go for what items. We pulled in behind another truck and a man came out with a cart, helped my husband unload the TV and that was it! Once the truck in front of us was done, we pulled forward and off we went with the rest of the day! In out in less than 10 min! There wasn't a fee for home electronics so I'm not sure about other items you can recycle. Best to have a payment method or cash just in case. They also have some strange hours and close at 11am on Saturdays so plan accordingly.

The Good: *Lots of history here, as the Johannes Harnish Farmstead, Christian and Emma Herr Farm, Hans Herr House, Lime Valley Covered Bridge, Neff's Mill Covered Bridge, Park Site, Rock Ford Plantation, and Weber-Weaver Farm are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. *Great centralized location that always seems to be about 20-30 minutes from most of the more popular sites to visit in Lancaster County, as well as adjoining cities/towns. *If you love driving country roads like I do, then this is your place. *Lots of lots of farmland, including moo cows. *Really close to great shopping, if that's your thing. There's some great antique shops not too far, and The Shops @ Rockvale (outlets) are also just a stone's throw. The Meh: *Really not much to see in the town itself beyond the historical stuff. The Ugly: *While I love driving the country roads, walking them is a whole nutha story. Little to no shoulder makes it a pretty dangerous endeavor; I tried to take a walk to do some street photography but turned back after just a few minutes. Tldr: Great place to stay, but don't expect to get any steps in while doing so.

A staff person answers and straight up lies to me and says they close any business coming in at 3:30p and it is clearly stated on the website. I go to the website and it is nowhere to be found. It may be there in some fine print, but come on. They charge $10 for a $.50 yellow vest if you can't show that you have them already. I work hard and now that I trusted the information on their website, I have to bring debris back to my house and make time again to go out there. Please! Someone come up with a better solution than the monopoly that this place is!
