My husband and I booked Lance to take some family photos for us with our 5 month old son and are so happy with our photos! I chose him knowing he usually does photography outside of the box and is known for his beautiful boudoir and cosplay photography. He absolutely hit the mark for us and gave us a good balance of fun and whimsy while providing some solid photo options to send to our not so adventurous family. He was a breeze to work with, easy to talk to and gave good direction (which helped me a lot as I am very awkward in front of a camera). He hiked into the forest with us and was so accommodating finding the right light which was harder since we had to work around the baby's schedule. I was really excited to work with this photographer I absolutely fell in love with his work at the moment I saw his Instagram. His creative mind was truly inspiring to see. When it came time to the shoot he was very professional and showed up on time. He was very flexible to have my shoot and when I needed to change it, it was a very easy. Working with him during the shoot he let me put in suggestions and knew what kind of vision I was portraying, which made it very easy. Although we had issues with there being to much sun (dang Mother Nature) at our location he was very patient and understanding and improvise ways to make it better with the circumstances we had. BEWARE OF SCAM! If I could give this photographer zero stars I would. I first inquired on a standard photo session from his website, and he was responsive the whole time up until I paid $210 for the session. I told Lance via email that I am unsure about paying before the service since I never had a photographer ask for money up front before. Lance said in the email that the $210 is to "put me on his calendar" and "that price is also to cover the photo session". I was hesitant, yet, I thought his webpage and reviews would never lead me to being SWINDLED. After he receives my payment via PayPal, I emailed him some cities we could work in and he did not respond to my email. All we had calendared was the date of the session and we never confirmed a time and location. I gave him a few days to reply, yet, I heard nothing. I emailed him 4 days before our session and I asked if he had picked a location from my last email. He did not reply that whole day and I started to feel uneasy about his lack of communication, professionalism, and treatment of a paying customer. Our session was scheduled for Thursday, July 15, 2021 and it was now Tuesday, July 13, 2021 and I had not heard back from him. I never had to chase down a merchant so much in my life. I emailed him that Tuesday morning and let him know that I chose a location (since he hasn't responded at all). Then within 20 minutes of that message I felt like I have been completely scammed and ignored as a paying, first time customer. So I sent a follow up email stating that I do not feel comfortable at all with having this photo session with him...he then replies 2 minutes later saying, "I have been camping so I have not had reception, and I just got reception now so I am just seeing your message." I responded reiterating that his lack of communication and lack of professionalism makes me uneasy and in addition to that he was so quick to take my payment, yet, provided no support for the time in between that required his attention( no confirmed time or location for our session). Lance then stated that he is responding to me now, and I let him know that I do not want to move forward, there will not be a photo session and I want my money back. Lance said he could not give me my money back, yet, nothing in initial emails, his website, nor did we have a contract stating that I am not entitled to my refund. Lance said he is booked this entire month and he lost one full day of work because of me....but at the same time he just emailed me stating that he has been camping this whole time.??? The service will not be provided to me so why does he want to keep my money? That makes me extremely uneasy and I feel completely violated by this person for basically sending me a link to pay, treating me as if I was not on his calendar, and then firmly stating that he can't give me a refund.In addition to him saying he could not refund me, I decided to ask him once more to refund me since the service will not be met AND he had an opportunity to easily reverse the PayPal transaction. If Lance was booked this whole month, busy with customers, has worked with Vogue, Discovery Channel, etc, has 30k followers on Instagram, and is proud of his 70 reviews on Google, then why is it difficult to refund me? Why is he keeping money for a service that he never provided to me? My email delivery was polite and showed concern for his mishaps and instead he see that as an opportunity to pocket the money. A successful business owner is not worried about $210 in good faith. At this point I don't event think he is the person on his website and since he owns a graphic design co, he could manipulate his website, instagram, and reviews to make himself look like a good, whole-hearted person. Lance reiterated that he can't give me my money back. I felt at that moment that this person is completely unethical, immoral, and does not know how to treat their customers. I then proceeded to file a dispute with PayPal, and I also sent a money request to Lance a couple of times and he denied the requests. Then he emailed me saying THAT HE WAS GOING TO GIVE ME A REFUND, but since he saw that I filed a dispute with PayPal, he was going to let them decide the outcome. Lance also stated that since there is a dispute, PayPal won't let him refund me. I contacted PayPal customer service and they stated that in no way, shape, or form are they in the way of him refunding me for the service that did not happen. He had no obstacle or anything in the way of him giving me the refund and he used PayPal as an excuse and another reason why he could not refund me. I have caught him lying and manipulating the story of events in his favor so that he could pocket $210? STAY AWAY HE HAS UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES AND WILL STEAL FROM YOU. This whole incident could have easily resolved, yet, he chose to STEAL FROM ME AFTER I TOLD HIM I FEEL UNEASY ABOUT HIS BEHAVIORS AND UNPROFESSIONALISM. STAY AWAY! read more

WOW. Lance made me feel like a total rock-star. I struggle with my self image at times and honestly the shoot we did was a total confidence booster. Finally I have some seriously professional shots and they are SO GOOD! working with someone of his caliber was actually relaxing because all of his work I have seen has been so epic that I was easily able to cast my insecurities aside. It is really nice to have a photographer who is a chill, kind and a versatile professional. He pays close attention to all of the subtle nuances that make a great photo. Lance has quite the variety of styles and has even shot for some high end magazines. He provides a comfortable guide through the whole experience for someone with minimal to no modeling history. Our shoot was an adventure and due to extremely high winds we elected a location change - He knew just what to do! Our shoot went amazingly and I feel so great. I pretty much love all of the photos.
