Food- 4/5 Overall experience- 5/5…read more It was a fun spot to stop at to break up our drive back to Boston. The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.

I have been going to this store for the past 15 years as a local. I've seen it progress over time,…read moreand now I can say it's truly been run into the ground in every aspect by the current management. The store operators run this like a gas station in Newark NJ, not like a small town country store in New Hampshire. There is no native NH humble pride in the people who run this store. Zero personality, don't care who you are, no nod to any New Hampshire tradition. The operators are disorganized, do not know their products (do not know the price or what they're selling), do not speak to you, do not make quality sandwiches in their deli, and are playing either strange music or no music. They now sell a huge variety of smoking apparatus (bowls, bongs, glass pieces) like this is a city vape shop. It is clear that they do not care about a reputation; my steak and cheese sandwich had microwaved meat, microwaved onions and peppers slapped on a non-toasted bun. They simply just scan barcodes and ask debit or credit, and go through the motions to get through the day. They don't even put anything in bags; they just check out and give you a hollow stare, expecting you to pick up your items and leave. I even had a woman working there use a brown paper lunch bag as a grocery bag (what even?), fill it with half of the products that I purchased, then stare at me as if she's never packed a bag before with the rest of my things sitting next to the bag. It was so strange. I really hope someone new comes by and really makes that store the original Dodge's store, with great food and great atmosphere that it used to be. I do not think the current operators are capable of this.

Dodge's Store sells small groceries, convenience items, lottery tickets, newspapers, cold drinks, beer, fresh brewed New England Coffee (self serve carafes), and a selection of baked goods and heat & serve prepared food items and readymade salads from Mike's Red Barn (location in Salem), same ownership of this store. There's also a full service grill and deli food counter in the back offering made to order subs, sandwiches, salads, and fried seafood at reasonable prices. Most large subs are under $5, except for chicken salad and steak & cheese, which are around $6. I stopped in here for a quick bite recently while I was working in the area. The food options for lunch are very limited out here. I got a large seafood salad sub prepared to order with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and American cheese and a cup of hot coffee, pay at the front register. The service was prompt and friendly, quick and convenient! The sub was pretty good tasting which had tender chunks of imitation crab loaded in a light mayo mix. Dodge's Store is a now stop on my rotation for a quick bite to eat whenever I have to be in the area.
