    Small sub
    Caitlyn R.

Made a quick stop for lunch while passing through town. I wanted an Italian sub but their meat selection of ham, bologna and salami was odd and not considered an Italian where I'm from so I opted for a small chicken salad sub with bacon, lettuce, pickles and cheddar cheese... they forgot to add the cheese but the sub was still good and reasonable priced at $8.99. Chicken salad is shredded chicken so you get a consistent texture. Just the right amount of mayonnaise. It is on the bland side so I would suggest adding some seasoning and at minimum salt and pepper to your sub. The bread has a nice crust but soft and chewy in the middle which makes great for deli sandwiches! Pickles were sweet and crisp. Lettuce was shredded and fresh. The bacon was very thin and comparable to the bacon you get at a fast food place, not very desirable. I'd stop here again when in the area but it's not a place worth driving out of the way for.

I can only speak for the quality of the grinders, but I went there and fell in love the other day. The "small sized" was one of the biggest I've ever seen for the price ($6.29 for an Italian). I couldn't even finish it in one sitting. I had no complaints. Just make sure you specify everything you want in your sub. I've called in and order a "turkey sub" for instance and literally ended up with a sub roll with just turkey on it and nothing else

Have had subs and salads (potato, mac, etc) from them for years. And I keep going back. Great selection of snacks and beverages, too.

I was visiting family in Keene, NH (So pretty! Get up there straight away!!) and it's their tradition to grab breakfast from this spot which they refer to as "Lisa's" cuz a woman named Lisa owns it. Let me lay it out you guys: Lisa and her deli team are breakfast sandwich wizards. Tbh, I'm fairly certain that I didn't know what a breakfast sandwich even meant before last weekend. Let's get to the magic. The sandwich is built on an un-toasted english muffin that is the ur-muffin of muffins: good structure but pliant and hearty but thinnish. These muffins taste like real food. Made of actual grains, by actual hands. Are they made in-house? By benevolent breakfast elves? Perhaps. The sausage patty is house-made, my aunt informed me, simply seasoned, and crazy delicious. I kid you not that I could eat many such patties, on their own, if that weren't unseemly and basically a health risk. Because yeah a sausage diet is not one that is recommended all too often, right? I suppose I should have inquired what sort of sausage it was but I think all you need to know is that it's a magic patty. The egg component of the sandwich is made in one of those nifty round-shaped thingies, so it lines up perfectly with the patty and muffin. Because not only is this sandwich delicious, it's also gorgeous and tidy: no dangly bits to worry about or crumbs as you bliss out in between bites, reading an actual paper newspaper in the garden or driving to that sweet kayak spot or lying in bed wondering if you ever really need to get up. (I tested these conditions for you. It's all good!) And of course, no breakfast sandwich can be replete without some sort of cheese. I believe the cheese is cooked into the egg? Mmmmm. Cheesy eggs. I think we've all experienced that moment, right? (Vegan friends, know that I am a huge fan of tofu veggie scrambles with Daiya and/or nutritional yeast; a plant-strong "cheesy eggs" FTW, for sure!) Finally there's a bit of green in the layering of this egg, patty and cheese beauty: thinly sliced cucumber, julienned green peppers, maybe a bit of arugula? Make no mistake it's FANCY and you totally deserve it. Of course, you can opt out of the greens, as my cousin did. She opted out of the sausage patty as well...so. You're on your own if you follow her dictum. Anyway what are you doing next weekend? Maybe you should mosey over to Beaver Street?

My cousin and I stopped to pick up lunch at this little Country Store in Sullivan, New Hampshire…read more The store recently reopened with new owners after falling into disrepair. The new owners have cleaned and reorganized the store while maintaining the original country charm. There is patio seating outside (no room for seating inside). The store carries a nice variety of local produce, meat, cheese, syrup and other goods along with necessitates. Prices are on the high side, as you may expect from a specialty store in a resort area. The new owners are super friendly and helpful. First, we selected two of their house made apple cider donuts with sugar. The donuts were divine, soft cake with lots of cinnamon, sugar and apple flavor. I would stop by every day for those donuts if I lived here. We ordered the soup of the day, homemade French Onion The soup was hot with lots of melted cheese and tasty croutons. The soup was a tad too sweet, but good otherwise. My cousin ordered the egg salads sandwich, which is enormous and delicious. The sandwich is served on a long piece of French bread ladened with egg salad. Highly recommend the egg salad. I had the Chopped Italian Grinder, which also came out on a long piece of French Bread. There was a lot of bread for the amount of meat/cheese on the sandwich. The grinder was ok. There is a small but adequate parking lot. Overall, we loved the donuts and egg salad. I'd definitely return to try other things on the menu.
