As an independent agency the represent many different insurance providers and have the ability to ensure my rates are competitive as well as to see I am placed with a company the will provide proper service when I have experienced a loss. I have autos, motorcycles, house, and supplemental health insurance with them. They work the best combination for price and coverage. Three separate insurance carriers presently. Steve, Scott, and Brian are very responsive. They guys have integrity and think more about placing their customers with the right coverage at competitive pricing that maximizing their commissions. I would recommend having approaching them to do an inventory of you insurance needs next time any of your policies come due. Doesn't hurt to get a second opinion an pricing from someone new?

I moved in December and wanted a new policy for my new residence, to cancel my existing policy and have my address update with my auto-insurance. Things were okay but again not great, up to that point. The closing date changed to 4 days earlier, than expected, just a few days prior to the new closing date. This is where things feel apart and continue to be derailed. Yesterday I called to talk with Scott my agent, Steve (the owner and founder) answered. He asked if he could help me. I explained that it was the same issue I had called about 3-weeks ago. I was told Scott was not yet in the office but was expected soon and he would have Scott call me back. I explained I was getting frustrated because it had been almost 3-weeks since I left the last message (with Steve) for Scott to return my call but had not yet heard from him. Steve assured me he would have Scott call me by noon or he himself would call me back by noon. At almost 2:00 p.m., I called Keister and Keister again, as I had not yet receive a call from either of them. Steve answered the phone and again said Scott was not available. Steve asked what he could help me with. I explained that it was the same issue I had talked with him (Steve) about 2 months ago and what I had called about 3-weeks ago. I told Steve my frustration was continuing to increase. Steve said, "Well if you don't like the service I suggest you go elsewhere!" Given his response I contacted the insurance company directly and was told my policy, which should have been canceled effect December 30th had not been canceled and because they had not heard from Keister and Keister, despite repeated attempts were canceling the policy effective April 30th not December 30th as I had requested when working with Scott in December. The company, however saw that I had a policy for two homes and assumed I was not living in the old one but was renting it out. I now need to send the company paperwork to prove I have not been the owner since December 30th. Once they receive my documentation their underwriters will review things and make a determination about providing a refund back to December 30th. Additionally, Keister and Keister did not notify my auto-insurance company of my knew address and the effective date of the change. Once I discovered this I notified the insurance company and have had to pay money back to the date of my move. While dealing with this I also, discovered I have not been getting the good student discount as I had thought and been told I was receiving. Keister and Keister did not request the good student discount in fact never report my daughter as a good student for the discount. My daughter has been on the A and/or B honor roll all through high school and college. Per Keister and Keister's request I provided them copies of her grades at least once per year! I would STONGLY recommend doing as Steve Keister (the founder and owner) suggested and "go elsewhere".

    It never ceases to amaze me how bad customer service can be sometimes. Especially in today's world…read morewhere there is competition between most business's and consumers have plenty of options. Case in point State Farm. My family has been State Farm customers for over 40 years. Over 40 years!. My wife was even a State Farm employee for a number of years. Due to the dishonest practice and mistrust of one State Farm employee, we have moved all of our business and will never go back! We had multiple vehicles and our home insured with State Farm. Most of my extended family also was with State Farm. Thanks to the experience of my wife previously being a State Farm employee we had not needed to visit a State Farm office for over 20 years. We never spoke to an agent and had previously always worked with an account manager named Stephanie. Stephanie had always been wonderful to work with. We even moved our policies from agent to agent so we could continue our relationship with Stephanie. Last year I had called to remove insurance from a vehicle we were putting into storage. Unfortunately Stephanie was not in the office this day and I worked with Cheryl W. Cheryl had suggested an umbrella policy. We had never had an umbrella policy and I was interested in more information. Cheryl stated she removed the insurance from the vehicle that we were storing and emailed information to me about the umbrella policy. A month later we received a bill for vehicle we had Cheryl W remove the insurance from. We called to find out what happened and why we were billed when we should have received a refund or credit towards our next renewal. We were told this needed to be reviewed by their underwriters. Being good customers for as long as we had, I didn't anticipate any problems. In fact I had thought they would correct this right away. Especially when I stated I had received an email from Cheryl W that could timestamp the date and time we spoke. After a few weeks of whatever they were doing for their discussions, we were told they could not or would not corroborate our claim and that we needed to pay that policy. Cleary we were NOT pleased. I had and still have that email from Cheryl W. How was that emailed to me? I was told she did not take notes of my request the day we spoke but she could email me information in an attempt to get more of our money. Well not being believed and supported by a company that we were very loyal to for a long, long time told us we needed to move on. We have since moved all of our business to an insurance company. Still hard to believe that State Farm would not support their customer and even harder to believe that Cheryl W did NOT do the right thing. Maybe State Farm gives more priority to the big name athletes in their commercials and not the average consumer. We are very pleased with our new insurance company and we even purchased that umbrella policy.
