I do not come to Google to trash businesses but to inform prospective clients/customers about the establishment or practice. Beware of Dr. Krulee's Office! Dr. Krulee himself is a knowledgeable psychiatrist who is patient centered. He had knowledge on my condition that no other providers did. The issue is with his wife, Julia Krulee. Julia is the office manager and manages the practice. She is rude, crude, and not patient centered. For someone that has a doctoral degree in psychology she is pretty unempathetic and is not beholden to their slogan "Professionals Dedicated To Listening (Landmark Center for Behavioral Health's Website) I have had numerous issues with the office itself, but the latest incident is the straw that broke the camel's back. The backstory: I had an appointment scheduled for 2:45 pm. To be able to enter into the virtual appointment, one must remit payment to join the telehealth visit. The office incorrectly assessed a $109 copayment to my account. I had met my out of pocket max for the year. I called the office three times (attached the screenshot for proof) and left messages asking for assistance. At 2:57 I made the final attempt to leave a message on Dr. Krulee's urgent line and never heard back. I then received an email saying I missed my appointment and that I was charged $100 for missing my appointment. I then wrote a message to Juila explaining the situation and she then excused me of being angry and hostile (screenshots for proof). It is ironic that she called me angry and hostile for the message I sent. One would think someone with a psychology degree would know the connotation of the words and feeling of hostility and anger. I was simply seeking assistance. It was not my fault they were unresponsive and did not pick up the phone. I wish I had someone to appeal to but the office is run by Juila. It is unethical to employ one's wife in such a manner, considering the amount of complaints Juila receives. In any other practice, she would have been dismissed for her actions. Nepotism at its best! Unfortunately, Dr. David Krulee is complicit in condoning the condescending nature of his wife's actions. If you are reading this and have been screwed by the Krulees then I urge you to file a grievance with your insurance carrier like I did. read more

Julia is mentally deranged. She threatened to sue me for not paying for an upcoming appointment within 24 hours of making the appointment, before it even happened. Let me say that again. She threatened to SUE me for not making a payment before services were rendered and less than 24 hours after making the appointment. She's mad at the world, she's troubled, and should not be dealing with patients due to her mental instability. She was condescending and used foul language on the phone. Any doctor that allows patient abuse isn't a real doctor. Stand up to your wife and tell her no, the yelling in the back room says enough to us anyways. Fix your own life first. read more

This is the first time a psychiatrist has really been interested in treating ME. (not just medicating me and seeing what happens, input/output). Dr. Krulee actually wants to help me / work with me to get to the bottom of treating my various comorbid mental illnesses/disorders. He listens. He cares. He explains without being asked. Future-Dr. Julia Krulee is also stellar. I hadn't interacted with her until I went in-office for some testing. She is equally delightful and made me feel so welcome. If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. When you read these reviews, I'm sure you think what I was thinking, "it can't really be that bad?". But oh it is 10000%. And let me just say, it's not Dr. Krulee, it's his wife, Julia. she called me and swore at me, told me I was damaging HER mental health, and screamed that Dr. Krulee was dropping me as a patient. This was all over HER mistake with insurance billing. She told me I accused her of insurance fraud, which I never did. I have all the calls and communications still. While on the phone with my insurance she actually was merged into one of our calls, they heard EVERYTHING. I was advised immediately to file a grievance. I didn't even know what a grievance was until this. Want to know what happened after filing a grievance? I was terminated by the practice. And no I didn't get alerted, I found out on my own by Julia cancelling my appointment in the portal and deactivating my ability to message. Which to be fair, you aren't gonna communicate with Dr. Krulee, she monitors all of her husbands messages. Honestly, I think she wrote my termination letter and used his e-signature. It was claimed that I harassed and threatened the office. Which I absolutely never did and I have witnesses of the conversations. Again, Dr. Krulee isn't the problem, his wife and office manager, Julia Krulee is 1000%. Ironic someone that is trying to get her PhD in mental health treats people this way. I do not recommend anyone put themselves or any loved ones through working with this office. The only way this gets better is if Dr. Krulee realizes the mistake that is his wife. OH AND CHERRY ON TOP! I had to call my local police department because she started harassing ME from her personal cell phone number! I was urged to report this business yet again! read more

Atrocious front desk and management and now that we have found a competent place and see the progress of our kid we now see how unprofessional and damaging they can be to a person who has a nervous condition. Run away! Front office management is rude. Dropped my kids after four years over an insurance/billing issue (and not over non payment). During our discussion, when we thought our new insurance wouldn't be accepted and we may need to find care elsewhere, she accused me of being a bad mom by depriving my children of psychiatric care. It is so upsetting to read the negative reviews posted here. There are two sides to every story and I feel not everyone is hearing the patients part that led them to be dropped (not paying, being unkind to staff etc.) I have seen Dr. Krulee for a decade, as have two other members of my family. I truly believe that if it were not for Dr. Krulee's impeccable care...I can't even imagine where I'd be. He is intelligent, kind, thoughtful in his actions, listens to my concerns, is invested in my well being and is overall one of the top professionals I have seen in the mental health field. As for his office staff, I find them to be on top of things, prompt in their responses, warm and a pleasure to work with. If you are looking for a Doctor who treats his patients with empathy and respect and works hard to find the best fit for your needs, I would 110% recommend Dr Krulee. Let me jump in here and echo the voices of so many others: DO NOT GIVE THIS PRACTICE YOUR BUSINESS. They are indeed atrociously managed by a sinister woman (who I was told is a therapist but is not even a PhD yet) who happens to be the doctor's wife. On the morning of our appointment she sent an email demanding payment in full in advance despite the fact that we'd met our deductible and would only owe 20%. I had to drop everything & check the insurance website although I was quite certain of this, then I called to tell them. Julie Krulee ( who is NOT A PhD) got on the phone and yelled that there was ZERO CHANCE OF US SEEING THE DOCTOR UNTIL WE PAID THEM. She was snippy, and nasty, and vile - just as so many others have described her here. I have studied etiquette for decades so let me tell you: this is not how a business should be run, much less a psychiatric practice. I had to call my insurance company and get them to call her, which they did. At that point I expected an apology. Do you think I got one? I will not be spoken to in that way, nor should anyone, and the fact that she was wrong makes her outburst all the more unseemly. Husband the doctor backed her up. Of course. Run away. It is a shame that we had to make a decision to stop seeking Dr. Krulee for my daugther. He is a wonderful provider. However, after the experience we had with Julie, I am disgusted. You would think someone with her background would be a bit more considerate of her patients, especially when sensitive topics are involved. You never know what someone is dealing with. She was rude, implied that her time was far more important than anyone else's. Insinuated that my daughter was "confused", and didn't follow proper channels through pharmacy. Extremely insulting. You are no better than anyone because you have a bunch of letters after your name. Your severe lack of empathy, and patience, which in your field, especially, is necessary, is disgusting. Furthermore, it was your mistake - and a simple one that could have been resolved quite easily, had you actually had the patience you verbalized immediately that you did not have (your words "I don't have the patience for this") - we had no problem doing leg work to resolve issues but your demeaning attitude, insult to my child's intelligence, and lack of desire to listen is unacceptable. I realize insurance navigation can be difficult, but this was your office's mistake - not ours - and you came at us like gang busters. These people can't figure out how to work insurance, so they text you at 8:30 at night to tell you that you seem angry. They also discriminate against the hearing impaired. All the doctor ever did was throw a new prescription at my son every other week, after 15 minutes of sitting in the room with him, then they abruptly dropped him, a 9 year old, with zero refills or follow-up plan, because my deaf, disabled veteran spouse talks loudly. The office staff here, particularly Julia Krulee, is the most unprofessional and unorganized that I've ever dealt with. They are rude and condescending and ultimately they cannot keep track of their own billing department, bills previously paid, or conversations regarding important billing information. I had to mail in and call multiple times to try to pay my bill, the staff kept "forgetting" these conversations, and then threatened me with small claims court even though I had reached out to her multiple times to try to rectify the situation. I have been a patient at Landmark center for about 3-4 years. I am usually taken care of by Jay the front desk guy. (Shoutout to you Jay! Always on top of your game and you are so nice) Dr. Krulee is my physiatrist at this facility and he is wonderful. I have never had an issue with him and he has always been a wonderful human to me. My issue is with Julia Krulee. I haven't had many encounters with her but the ones I have had were extremely triggering. Julia Krulee is extremely rude, ignorant, and incapable of understanding mutual respect. This women has made me feel extremely less than her, she has raised her voice at me, and she has NEVER had a pleasant attitude as if I was an annoyance to her. Of course I am speaking from my own experience, I think all of us as matured adults we understand that even if someone Is disrespectful towards us we need to keep the role of the bigger person knowing that is how we gain respect from others. Even though the encounters I have had with Julia was short and brief it some how always results in me being the bigger person and ignoring the blatant disrespect. I have been admitted to IOL in Hartford in my recent past and when I was being discharged the doctors were explaining to me that they have never spoke negatively towards their colleagues but felt a strong need to explain to me that Julia Krulee is not someone anyone should use. They made me aware of the fact that she has gotten countless amounts of terrible, and upsetting complaints from patients. Of course I was not judging at the time because I had never met her. Currently I am and have been a patient of Dr. Krulee for about 3 years. Due to that I have encounters with Julia krulee occasionally. This is absolutely the most unprofessional, non-caring office that I have ever dealt with in my life. Dr. Krulee is a satisfactory provider and I can't actually comment much about his treatment, as he was only seeing my son to prescribe a medication that our pediatrician would rather not do. But, his office staff, namely Julia, is rude and accusatory. I am a medical provider myself and my spouse is also a health care professional, so we understand how things work. We called 1 hour before my son's appointment to notify them that my son wouldn't be able to make it because my husband was having trouble with his car. We understand that this is a last minute cancellation and that a bill for a missed appointment was expected. We received a letter 2 days later, but in the mean time I called twice on two different days to make a new appointment and take care of the $75 missed appointment fee. Neither person that I spoke to could help me at the time and told me that they would call me back, which they didn't. Another day later, I receive a nasty voicemail from Julia stating that we missed our appointment and she hasn't heard from us. She also accused us of avoiding the missed appointment fee and expecting appointments after school that were promised to us. When I called her to clarify that I HAD called twice, she proceeded to tell me that they don't keep track of who calls and doesn't know who I spoke with. Then, I reminded her that we were not expecting after school appointments, but that my son had 2-3 half days per month so I was simply requesting appointments on those days. She was rude and automatically stated that we should find another provider if we weren't happy there. She's crazy, unprofessional and a complete road block to running a successful practice. Dr. Krulee should be ashamed that he even keeps her employed there. You are a mental health practice, working with human beings. This is the worst facility that I have ever worked with. I a child with autism and had a long standing appointment with them. I have tried so many routs and thought that finally I have found someone who would help my son. The very RUDE receptionist called an hour before my appointment to inform me that I am "wasting my time" and they they are not willing to work with me and i should try a 1800 autism hotline!!! I was completely FLOORED!!!! I have 3 sons with autism and in highly skilled facilities and I provide advanced therapy withy over qualified staff. ZERO Stars!!! They are by far the worst doctor's office and doctor I have ever encountered. They do NOT care about the well-being of their patients. They gave my boyfriend anxiety medication knowing full well he drinks alcohol. Then when I told them I'm concerned about him because he is not mentally stable since they gave him this medication they told me to come to the office because my boyfriend had a appointment that day. I went there and my boyfriend was not happy. He called me names I asked them if they can put him in another room until we seen the doctor. Instead they throw us both out. When I got home the police came to my house because the office manager, Julia called them. I had to explain and show them text messages indicating my boyfriend may harm himself. Needless to say we cannot find my boyfriend. We have no clue if he is safe. I'm a nervous wreck. If anything happens to him I will make sure they are closed down and they go to prison. At first, I didn't understand the negative reviews of the Landmark Center. I had been going there for two years and slowly I started to understand. It is not so much Dr. Krulee that I have the problem with, even though there were times that I felt that he didn't have the time to deal with me. My real issue is with the secretary, Julie. She is incredibly rude, and I have been in the office and heard her disrespecting clients over the phone. I was recently in a car accident and could not make my appointment, so she told me I was noncompliant with my treatment and told me that I should find a new doctor. She told me that she would call my pharmacy and give me 30 days worth of my medication but never did, leaving me to withdraw from my meds and no doctor to go to while I was really struggling. I was never allowed to speak to the doctor, and in speaking to psych professionals, I was told that my medication could not be terminated cold turkey like that. Julie acted outside of her scope of practice and was inappropriately rude; for a place that deals with behavioral health they do not seem to care for their patients. read more

I am a single dad of 2 children . I have had my son in counceling for 2 years now and he is only 7 years old . After finally getting him diagnosed ADD/ADHD, my primary Dr advised us to seek out a Pschyatrist for medication management. I took some time trying to find a Dr and then I was told of Dr Krulee. On my first visit I had a very uneasy feeling about Dr Krulee. I asked to speak to him alone without my son present and He almost seemed offended. I advised him that on our 2 nd visit I would be out of state. He assured me he would do a Conference call. That call never happened . I called in the next day to speak to him about it and I left message with Julie. He never called me back. On the 3rd visit at the end, I asked if we could again speak personally, and he rudely said NO, he was far to busy. He then went into the hallway and started showing kids a puppy in the office . I called that night and left another message asking for him to please call me back. I waited all night and weekend and never got a call. I went to pick up my sons medicine and was told by the pharmacy, they were out of stock and they are not sure when it will arrive . The next morning I called Drs office at 9 00 am and left message for Dr explaining the problem and once again I would like to talk to him. I never got a call back. At 3 00 pm I finally called Dr office myself, and spoke with Julia. I explained I left several massages asking for him to call me back, and I have no meds for my son now. She informed me Dr will NOT call me back. That is something he wont do. I explained to her that is awful and she quickly yelled to me, that he doesn't have time he doesn't call patients back and hes not hear to play games. She then Hung the phone up on me and left me wondering if my son was gonna have any meds to take in the morning. I have no idea what games she was referring to . I am 63 years old and to far into my life for game playing . To say I was left stunned is an understatement. Never in my 63 years of life have I ever been treated so disprespectfully from both the Dr and his Office assistant Julia. I would never advise or encourage anyone to seek medical attention from this DR. There is nothing he or his office assistant could ever say to me to justify their actions. I have had my son seen by a lot of Doctors in the past 2 years but this is by far my worse choice and decision I have ever made. Please don't put yourself in the same situation I am in.
