Upon arrival, we were told the parking was full and that it was better to come back 2-3 hours later. We turned around, drove for about 10 minutes and then came back to give our phone number to the employee so he could call us if any spots opened up. He immediately told us that it was OK for us to enter, since we were from Quebec and we drove about 9 hours to get to this place. Thank you to Jeff, the employee at the front desk for answering all of our questions, being very friendly and extremely helpful by letting us in!!!! The hike was totally worth it, the views are breathtaking, although you cannot enter the Grotto due to COVID. It was very relaxing, the water is at a lovely temperature as well, it is possible to swim on a sunnier day (just be careful because the rocks are slippery). There are bathrooms at the beginning of the trail. Bring your food with you, as well as water bottles since it's impossible to fill them up onsite.

First, a 40 min wait in line to get the permit only to be told the I have to leave the campground to fill the water tank at the dumping station. No sign to indicate this outside the campground. Then a "ban" on alcohol and cannabis outside specific hours. (Not to mention a total "ban" on holiday weekends. They can't provide appropriate security so responsible adults suffer. The showers are ridiculous. You get to press the button twice for a weak stream of tepid water. And there is only one shower facility for the entire place. The site assigned is extremely small even though they claim it is suitable for my size trailer. Be very cautious with their website information! The setting is glorious. Well worth a day trip but you would be better at a provincial or private campground. This one is awful.

It also depends on what you think a national park should be. As far as my opinion, it should be viewing beautiful sights and seeing animals. Serenity. This is not that. At all. If you think a national park should be a splash down water park, you're gonna love it. But you've got people walking the trails yelling at each other. You have people playing music loudly on the trails, as if they need their own personal theme song guiding them on their way. I even saw a Québécois stranger holding a dog in one hand, little child in another, walking in sandals at the Grotto on slick rock formations, jumping from one to the next. It was a disaster waiting to happen. It truly was an unpleasant experience. Look, the park tries to manage it. You have to reserve spots at both the Grotto and Halfway Log Dump. You have to pay a substantial fee to reserve as well. There are checkpoints going in like you're at Panmunjom on the Korean border. But it doesn't matter. There are still too many people. I think it is just too close to Toronto. My recommendation to anyone wanting a more peaceful national park experience would be to go to northern Ontario and visit Pukaskwa. Or even Lake Superior Provincial Park. They are both what I would want out of a park. I hate saying this, but I'd avoid the peninsula altogether.

Clean bathrooms, very nice grounds, great staff, virtually no other campers which was my favorite. I didn't use the pay showers or swim in the pool but they looked good. WiFi just worked at site 60 which was nice to have. There is a nice wooded camping section which I visited but chose the sunnier area for my solar panels. Close to town so I could bicycle there ~2.5-3.0 miles and not have to pay for parking in town. I would stay here again in the off season.

one of the better parks I have been to, but the orientation is a bit weird…read more the park is literally split up by the falls with no choice but to walk all the way around if you want to see the park on both sides. the park it self is very beautiful during all times of the year, and in the summer time is very popular for swimming, with people diving off of some of the falls that have formed. this location is also great for walking and for just seeing nature at its best, wildlife and the forestry. bring some food to feed either the fish or the ducks or both! parking is enforced at this park pretty strictly, when we entered there was a ranger inspecting vehicles, and when we were leaving same thing. pretty happy I came here, and I would love to come back, especially in the fall or even the winter months.

The Tobermory village campground has a great website and when I called the person sounded absolutely great. I thought I had found a fantastic place for myself and my 5 friends (we were 3 couples). We were a little surprised when we arrived and were advised there is absolutely no music allowed at any time. We weren't looking to crank out anything too loud, but we had specifically requested an isolated location, and we like to have a little classic rock or something playing while we sit around the campfire or prep our meals. We were also a little surprised at the massive display of the ten commandments on the rec room outer wall. I have no personal issue with any of this, but had anyone implied or advised us of this sooner, we would of chosen to go to another campground. These sites were definitely on the more expensive side (57 per site, per night, and only one couple per site). Good thing it did come with wood for fires. A closer review of the website afterwards did reveal a no music clause.. but not very upfront. We ended up leaving the second day, and they did provide us with a refund. While this place was very clean - the best bathrooms I have ever seen, I did find it a little strange that the showers operated on a coin system - you pay for the number of minutes you want to shower. You also must pay for ping pong balls in the rec room. While this type of setup may fit some.... it was not for us, nor did we find the staff very friendly. We did feel a little unwelcome. We went to a different campground the next day... and paid 20 per couple, and got free firewood! 66% savings! This place is good for families, people who don't listen to any music (mind you, you can hear people talking and kids crying all the time, so it's not like it is quiet), but a little bit on the expensive side. I leave it up to you.

We stayed at Lake George…read morecampground and did 3 hikes incl. the famous "Crack" and then rented a canoe for a day and went all the way to OSA lake and back. If you want to visit the park, plan far in advance, especially for summer months. Most sites are booked 6 months in advance. Bring sturdy hiking boots, especially for the "Crack" hike, there is a lot of climbing and jumping from rock to rock. Also, bring your own firewood, the one they sell in the park is wet and rotten, cut from the fallen trees. The only place you can buy dry firewood nearby is Killarney outfitters but it costs a ridiculous $16+tax for the bag of firewood that will last you for 2-3 hours.

Right off the highway maybe about 2-5 minute drive from the entrance to the grotto and maybe about 10-20 minute drive to the main downtown of tobermory. This campsite has all that you need. The sites are well maintained. We got one of the sites just behind the main office and the badminton courts. With electricity. With enough room for 2 cars plus 2 tents, although we only had 1 car and 1 tent, we had a lot land to work with so much so that we had our canopy out as well. In terms of cooking/grilling, and needing to wash your dishes, no need to look for faucets as they have an outdoor "kitchen sink" that you can wash your dishes at. As a matter of fact, there are 2. Bathrooms are newer and are updated. The main one is more of a trailer type with hot/cold water for your showers. Since they are on a well, they work on token system ($2/token for a 4 minute shower with the option of turning on and off). Just outside their shower is also a tap for potable water. There is another bathroom that is much more updated with the 2nd outdoor sink. This one is closer to the main office. And not to mention, the outdoor kitchens have dish racks, dish soap (at times), and those dish scrubbers you need to take the grime away from your utensils. This was very good to have as we did not have to struggle too much with anything. Another great part of this camp ground is the fact that you can borrow grills to put on top of the fire pit if you forgot your grill. Also, if you forgot any supplies such as a pan for your eggs, you may also be able to ask the front desk and they may have them. Customer service at this place was great, the ladies working the main desk are very friendly and are always greeting customers with a smile. Overall, we paid approximately $90 for 2 nights and we could not have been much happier. We will be back for sure and possibly stay at their cabins.

Do not stay here if you are going to be partying into the wee hours of the night, loud or obnoxious; the very friendly owners are strict about noise, ensuring their guests are comfortable. We stayed in a 4 bunk cabin, which was super cute and cozy! Each camp site and cabin site has a fire pit, and you are encouraged to buy local wood. There are bathroom facilities (yay!) and showers (double yay!!). It is very close to all the popular must sees in Tobermory. Lots of good information on the website. We loved walking out to see the beautiful horses in the morning! Thank you for such a positive experience--we will be back next summer!
