The dumplings I tried are called Kaspressknödel and are a must try- it's a mix of vegetables and cheese into this lovely patty. You can eat it by itself or put it in soup. Spring through autumn you'll find an orgy of locally-grown seasonal fruits and vegetables; in the winter not much grows in Germany besides cabbage and squash, but the selection is still pretty good (supplemented by items grown slightly farther away). Additional vendors sell fish, meats, cheeses, breads, and (quite reasonably-priced) organic wine.
