Took my drift car to Lanes and had him install a Holley System in my C5 Z06 amongst other things. He quoted me 10 hours and then out of nowhere and charged me for 38 and the car to this day is not right. It took him 6 weeks to get it all WRONG. He does not know how to tune with a Holley system or anything else. I had recommended him to another shop and he couldn't get their cars right either. He tried tuning my car to 33 degrees of timing so he says....Holley system says 47 which both are insane and he would not fix it or make it safe. Who in the world would argue with a customer about a safer tune and doesn't fix their install blunders??I called Holley to be sure this was actually wrong and Holley themselves advised this was incorrect. I have all the emails and the car tunes if anyone needs it. I also asked to have a kill switch installed inside the car by the window( you can YouTube Formula Drift cars and reference in case they didn't understand) and they drilled a hole on the side of my Z06 and put it there without asking. I thought it was a joke or AI but lord see the picture. MY HALO THAT CANT BE REPLACED HAS A HOLE IN IT! DO NOT GO THERE AND GET RIPPED OFF. My c6 z06 he chose to refund me (after having to fight over it) because he did not have the capability to tune it correctly and it's just a Naturally aspirated car. In total we gave him a chance and he just can't tune a car in any form. The reviews on here are right. Overcharging and can't tune anything anymore. Please see what Googles General review states. All of these are true. This is the first time I've ever handed a tuner a bad review. Post review my accusump also malfunctioned and he would not provide the receipt where he bought it unless I removed the review. This is who you're dealing with. See email response from lane culver. Best Speed Shop in the area. My husband and I have used Culver Automotive for 16 years on six different vehicles and have never had a single complaint. We both drive high performance vehicles and I have had both of mine dyno tuned to gain horsepower and performance. Could not recommend Lane Culver more! Incompetent, dishonest, disreputable. Steer far, far away from this guy. Lane Culver is a condescending, unethical business operator that will take your money and ignore his negligent work. He charges for work never completed and/or, negligently completed. Mis-diagnosed transmission issues without proper diagnostic equipment or experience with newer, electronic transmissions. He installed a negligent, damaging tune into engine/transmission causing consequential damages. Refused to refund money taking full advantage of us. This guy couldn't repair or tune a lawnmower. His entire methodology for auto repair is guesswork so he can churn billing hours while he practices on your car. Some customers may believe they receive a decent tune when they leave until, they take their car to an experienced tuner / licensed shop that identifies countless, damaging mistakes in his incompetent work. You will damage an engine or transmission from Culvers tune and he will turn his back on you in a heartbeat. There's a lot of money riding on dealing with an unlicensed, incompetent guy with a reputation for taking advantage of customers. Alabama doesn't require a license for automotive repair shops. Alabama needs regulation over shoddy auto repair shops like Culver. One bad review, is too many bad reviews. Ask yourself, why would a reputable shop have ANY bad reviews if they were competent, honorable people? If they honored their work or, weren't able to complete the work and repairs satisfactorily, they would simply make good on the repair or, refund the customers money and maintain positive customer relations. Wonderful job!!! Wonderful service!!! Lane is a great guy. I see one person is upset with his service. I don't understand how. He was very informative. Tuned and dynoed my GTO and answered every question I had. He does at least 6 tunes a week so one bad review really isn't on him. He is very good at what he does. I will recommend him to everyone that needs aftermarket work done. He owns a speed shop. Not a mechanic shop. Big difference. You want power out of your engine? Lane Culver is the man with the know how. Wish there were more stars. He's that good. I do recommend making an appointment as he is very busy. Not to mention he was on the cover of hot rod magazine 2 separate times with 3 separate vehicles. His accomplishments will speak for themselves.
