My girlfriend and I had an AWFUL experience with the local dealer (Bill Penney Toyota) and an awful experience when we bought my girlfriends RAV4 at Charles Maund Toyota in Austin, Tx so we drove about an hour to get the truck. From the day we ordered it to the day we picked it up there was a great line of communication and I never felt pressured. I am big on customer service so I feel like I'm often hard to please in that way but David and Joey blew me away. I will refer any and everybody I can to Sand Mountain. I was going to try to find a dealer closer to me for service but I honestly think I'll just have to take the drive because Sand Mountain seems to be run so much better than any dealer I have been to. (Including when I worked in the parts department for a Ford dealer) I would like for the whole dealer to get some recognition. You have a customer for life.

No Stars - Worst Experience, Beware of Fraud…read more Earlier this year I was in a terrible accident on the interstate. I was stopped in traffic and was hit at 60 mph. Progressive (the other driver's insurance) had my car taken to Smith's Body Shop in Albertville, Alabama for repairs. Smith's had my vehicle for two months and told me it was "fixed." Progressive paid them over $17,000 to put new parts on my car. I trusted that everything had been handled properly. Before I even picked up my car (a 2023), Smith's tried to tell me I needed a new car battery that would cost me $400 out of pocket because insurance wouldn't cover it. The problem? My battery had been replaced just one month before the accident. I argued with them, and suddenly they backtracked and said, "Never mind, nothing's wrong with your battery." That alone should have been a red flag. Not even two months after picking it up, I took my car to another shop for a minor bumper repair. That's when I learned the shocking truth: * The new shop said the damage was never fixed from the original accident. * Progressive investigated and confirmed that Smith's never reported frame damage that should have totaled my car. * Even worse, the $17,000 worth of new parts Progressive paid for were never actually installed. This means they not only committed insurance fraud, but they also let me--three months pregnant at the time--drive around in a vehicle that was unsafe and dangerous. Now I'm left without a car. I honestly don't understand how this business has good reviews. My experience shows otherwise, and I feel it's important to warn anyone considering this shop, whether through insurance or on their own. What they did was careless, dishonest, and could have put lives at risk. Do not trust Smith's Body Shop.

They allowed me to store the car there for two weeks free of charge while we figured out what we were doing with it. They gave me a free estimate within 3 days on what would be needed to get the car back in working order. Unfortunately the car was a total loss . They even offered suggestions on what I could do.
