Langan Park (Municipal Park), is a 720-acre park in Mobile, Alabama, where Springhill Ave. ends and Zeigler Blvd. Begins. The park offers numerous recreational activities, such as disc golf, playgrounds, picnic areas, and walking trails. It encompasses the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile Botanical Gardens, and Playhouse in the Park. In addition, the park features tennis courts (the Mobile Tennis Center), and athletic fields for baseball and softball. Langan Park is also a popular spot for outdoor concerts and family outings. Many of the trees are labeled by genus and species. Plus, there is a large body of water that harbors the natural habitat for many birds, insects and other aquatic life. The 2.5 mile diameter sidewalk in the park is perfect for walking or running; though, It is not good for rollerskating in-line skating or skateboarding. Mostly because the mandatory crevices in the sidewalk are too wide (in some places) for the small wheels to navigate them safely. Seemingly, The maintenance crew does not keep the sidewalk very clear from debris. This could seriously injure a skateboarder or roller skater. It (a nasty fall from debris on the sidewalk) has happened to me twice already in the last six months. Minus 1 star for maintenance. Otherwise I completely enjoy walking in the park read more

Nice Municipal Park, I come here often. Museum, Baseball Complex, Tennis Center, Golf Course, 2 Lakes, Fishing, Golf Course, Playground, public Restrooms, Botanical Gardens, Long Leaf Pine Forest, Fishing, Disc Golf, Outdoor Amphitheater, BBQ's, Picnic Pavilions, Walking/Jogging Paths. This park has a lot. Always clean, litter free, pet friendly, great for kids, families, couples, etc. Tons of wildlife: ducks, geese, fish, turtles, rabbits, squirrels, an occasional alligator sighting in the lake areas (warm weather usually). Every time I come here, I always find something cool or new that keeps me coming back. Safe, there is a police station and military reserve located in the park near the museum. This city park has been around along time. It's a great place for outdoor activities from birthday parties to community events. There's a playground and there's even a large pavilion for events. The pavilion can be reserved by calling the City Parks and Recreation department, and there a few tables that can be reserved as well. The most popular one is near the playground and close to the water. There's no fee and it is first come, first serve. So be sure to call ahead when planning your events (party) to secure your spot. Let's not forget waking the dogs, feeding the ducks or just finding a bench and enjoying the view. The parks hosts several community runs and walks throughout the year as well as weekly disc golf fun and tournaments. The walking trail goes from the entrance on Zeigler Blvd around the tennis courts, Botanical gardens and the MMoA (Mobile Museum of Art - which is free Thursday evenings). It's most a level 2 walk trail because it's not flat and based on level of fitness, could be challenging. So, it's Spring time. Grab a kite, a kid, a kickball, and a picnic basket and head to the park. read more

Nice park to run, jog, or walk. There's really no set trails when you start which is good and bad. With the different paths you can create a different routines throughout your time there. Nice scenery with the lakes and geese. The one bad thing near the water is that you'll find a ton of poop from the geese, so watch your step. This park is great for kids as well. They have swings and other playground equipment for them. read more

There is so much room at this park. Great place to bring your dogs. Plenty of space to run around for kids, including a playground. There is a walking path which encircles the park and leads to the Mobile Museum of Art. You can cross over a nice foot bridge overlooking the pond with ducks, turtles and fish making it an ideal place to spend time with the family. read more
