    May Day Park

What a beautiful park and view of the water. I stopped by this park as I was traveling west and decided to go off the beaten path. I made my way through the neighborhood and the sound of a football game played at the local field, and found this beautiful sight! The beach is small, yet nice to walk around. The pier is spacious and nice to walk to the end to and catch the sunset. A chill little spot with a breathtaking view

07/23/22. Water Front Park with public boat access for fishing through the boat launch. There is a playground that is great for kids by the parking lot. Clean restrooms. I saw a video camera mounted on a tree near the boardwalk down to the water, so video surveillance is going on. Saw a guy typing on a laptop under the gazebo, which also has little tables and chairs for kids. Beautiful oak trees with Spanish Moss. The boardwalk leads down to the beach, is handicap accessible for wheelchairs, walkers & strollers. We were there with our dog. There is a paved road leading to the boat launch at the bottom of the hill that also has a small parking lot. The pier is nice, too, great views of Mobile Bat, has benches to sit & watch the water, or sunrise/sunset. You can fish off this pier, it is equipped with mounts to hold multiple fishing poles. Small beach with cypress trees. There are also two benches & a chair swing facing the water for awesome views.

Love living here is all I can say. Great everything from walking, shopping, to restaurants…read more My wife and I love having moved here and wish we had done it 20 years ago since we weren't born here. Everything is awesome for us, from the small boutiques, Fairhope Pharmacy, walking the pier, talking to Garfield the Goose at the duck pond and so many other things I can't name. When the original founders wanted to make this a utopia, little do they know they have succeeded. So many transplants, like us, and yes many tourists and y'all keep coming back. New experience tonight with the Christmas Parade. Wow, it was awesome. I've been to Christmas parades before, but this was the best ever. I met so many nice people, who when we tell them we recently move here, they are so welcoming, from celebrities to just your neighbor. No wonder Southern Living has written so many articles about Fairhope.

I fell in love with Fairhope so hard that I've already booked my next visit and I am currently…read morelooking for jobs there. No kidding. The town is filled with pastel colored houses, dreamy tree lined streets with flowers on every corner, resident geese and pelicans that the locals have named and the most friendly people I've ever encountered. I knew I wanted to get away to some place fairly close and Southern Living named Fairhope one of the best small towns in the south and after a little research I was sold. Fairhope is only about five hours from Lafayette and if you're in New Orleans it's even closer...about two hours, thirty minutes. Mobile is right across the bay, so you can go to the "big city" fairly quickly but stay in this idyllic little town. There's so much to do with the museums, shopping, and dining. Until next time Fairhope. See you in my dreams.
