There must of been more then 10 tennis courts, and half were still empty despite all the people playing on the center courts. Park also has a playground, basketball court, pickle ball courts, & a large grassy area between tennis courts & pickle ball courts. Restrooms & drinking fountain available. Located on Main Street, clearly marked with signage, good size parking lot. Very clean, no litter. A small church with cemetery behind it located directly next to park. Church has a historical marker out front.

Large green grassy area in rear of park for sports plus I saw a soccer net. Park is encircled by the woods. Both restrooms have an electric plug above the sink & to the side of the mirror. Clean park, free of litter. Small parking lot in front, and an older parking lot in the rear plus additional parking along the roadway leading to youth center that is obscured by the neighborhood & woods. This park is much quieter & isolated compared to the waterfront parks in Daphne. I was here early, I was the only one. Only complaints: sign said no dogs, well I was already there with my dog, alone, so whatever, I broke that rule. Second complaint: there was a small broken window in the ladies room, so the restroom was chock full of those lovely Alabama Dragonflies that LOVE water. Other then that, yeah, it's a great park.

Do not let that deter you from visiting this park, all up and down The Gulf Coast, from Texas to Florida you will find that type of wild life, even on The East Coast all the way up to North Carolina. Nice boardwalk for a stroll with your doggo. I did not get a chance to travel the entire length of the boardwalk because I heard a lot of thunder, the sky was clear, so I left and within ten minutes it rained ( storms are common here, but usually brief, in fact it rains every afternoon in the summer). It was deserted when I came with my dog, I only saw two people, a mail carrier, & a bus driver, both of whom just stopped to use the restroom. This park does not appear busy. The basketball court looks new. There is a gazebo in the center of the park with three picnic tables. The playground has both new and old equipment. Lots of shade from various Long Leaf Pines. Quiet & tranquil. Surrounded on nearly every side by the woods so you can hear the birds. The parking lot is unpaved, was a bit muddy when I came, Alabama gets rain nearly everyday in the summer. Unlike other parks, I saw no electric outlets anywhere. The chain link fence is bent in some areas by the woods, maybe Big Foot did it? Other then those somewhat minor flaws, this is a great park, all the parks in Daphne are great, it is a wonderful community. This is one of the only parks I visited in Daphne that is not on the water.

A simply stunning small strip of paradise at the end of a quiet street in Daphne, Alabama…read more Take a moment to walk the nature oath, it is small, but it is simply amazing and leads out to an even more beautiful strip of beach. Just as an aside, there is an amazing barbecue restaurant called Moe's on that quiet street, stop by there before going. It is one of my favorite barbecue places.

Everything is awesome for us, from the small boutiques, Fairhope Pharmacy, walking the pier, talking to Garfield the Goose at the duck pond and so many other things I can't name. When the original founders wanted to make this a utopia, little do they know they have succeeded. So many transplants, like us, and yes many tourists and y'all keep coming back. New experience tonight with the Christmas Parade. Wow, it was awesome. I've been to Christmas parades before, but this was the best ever. I met so many nice people, who when we tell them we recently move here, they are so welcoming, from celebrities to just your neighbor. No wonder Southern Living has written so many articles about Fairhope.

The town is filled with pastel colored houses, dreamy tree lined streets with flowers on every corner, resident geese and pelicans that the locals have named and the most friendly people I've ever encountered. I knew I wanted to get away to some place fairly close and Southern Living named Fairhope one of the best small towns in the south and after a little research I was sold. Fairhope is only about five hours from Lafayette and if you're in New Orleans it's even closer...about two hours, thirty minutes. Mobile is right across the bay, so you can go to the "big city" fairly quickly but stay in this idyllic little town. There's so much to do with the museums, shopping, and dining.
