Kitfo

I've been a customer here before and usually enjoy the food, but my most recent experience was very disappointing. I ordered raw kitfo for takeout which I've had from this restaurant in the past and they gave me a fully cooked version instead. I confirmed during ordering that I wanted it raw, so this wasn't a misunderstanding. When I called to explain the issue, I was told that "medium rare is how we do it," even though that's not what I ordered. They offered to replace it, but only if I drove back after I had already gone 12 miles home. That's not realistic for a takeout order, and it felt dismissive rather than helpful. To make things worse, the portion size was noticeably smaller than what I've received before for the same dish. Overall, the quality control and customer service fell short of expectations. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously consistency and communication matter, especially for loyal customers who drive a distance to support your business.

The phone number listed on Yelp is incorrect. It's for Georgia Ave. location, not the White Oak location. The correct number is 301-244-5157. We ordered: 4*Veggie Combo: can't go wrong with a variety of vegetables. Must order dish for me. 4*Fish Gulash: fish cubes were fried. Mixed with vegetables. 5*Lamb Girgiro: it can be very spicy! Mouth burning spicy. It's nice they put them on the side. Tender, spicy, and tasty. Very good, almost addictive.

This place is amazing.the vibe , food ,specially the service are exceptional. Frehiwot takes the more credit.

I am a little confused about the 2 star review because this place is clearly underrated. We tried almost everything that has meat and we loved it all, especially the "Dereq Tibs". The kitfo and the dulet filet was ok, we didn't like it raw so we had them cook it. The customer service was amazing, the ladies were attentive, explained everything well and suggested great options. And I forgot that they make an amazing latte too, go check them out. Don't let the ratings deter you from giving this place a shot.

Great atmosphere and food was very good. They have a full bar and dance floor though we weren't there late enough to experience it.

It has a very nice outdoor area, and an indoor area with a long row of high tables and a long bar. I sat at the bar for the best view, and they ID'd me the second I sat down... it's been a while outside of a security person lol. Anyways, I decided to try the samosas and their potstickers...both were lovely appetizers. I could've gotten even more, but I didn't need all that. I've been hearing things about their sandwiches... perhaps I'll try one next time! The place reminded me of Big Daddy's in the sense that it was connected to a beer & wine shop. They have quite the variety of things, and there's a takeout spot in the back of it -- in fact, all the food seems to come from back there. It wasn't on the menu I was looking at, but they definitely have pizza. I'm going to have to try that next time I go. The vibe of the spot was really nice... but then again, it might've been the music. They do trivia, and they might do karaoke? Who knows. But either way, I'll be back!

Based on my previous experience, I didn't really know how it would be or if I would enjoy myself, but I want it to be open and give it a chance. We just got a round of rails and we're satisfied for the night. The Vibes were pretty awesome and both the patrons and the staff were very nice. Now, if I ever want to go anywhere randomly late at night, I can get here in 10 minutes. I should give the food another shot. I wonder if it is improved over time?

There's a small pool hall attached, which could be a plus for some, but it didn't really change my overall impression of the space. We stayed for maybe five minutes max before deciding to leave. As soft life luxury girls, we knew this just wasn't our scene. Because of that, I can't speak on the food or service, but first impressions matter and this one didn't land for me.

We just had a few ciders, and they were a dollar off. For food, I got the haddock platter that came with Old Bay potato chips and veggies. I really loved the fish and those chips, but I found the veggies to have more butter than I'm typically comfortable with. And to me it was just that, not necessarily seasoning to upgrade the flavor. Otherwise, the bar area can get a little tight during peak hours, and there are plenty of lower tables to sit at. Seems like the place can I get busy on any given day, but it's a vibe! Everybody is really nice. Parking can be a challenge I feel like (somehow I got the last spot)... If it fills up, the adjacent lot is adamant about the parking only being for the few restaurants there. And the street parking is going to be a gamble.

We altered the mushroom special with half sausage. The three cheeses and the caramelized onions with balsamic made for a delicious pizza! The waitstaff was great - checked in frequently and even teased us with humor when we requested a box to take home what we didn't finish. I really enjoyed the atmosphere- it truly felt like a neighborhood pub, and it was great to see the variety of ages of the patrons enjoying their meals. We will definitely return for another meal. My only suggestion is the beer selections should be clearer on the menu.

Dining areas are in several room spaces, instead of 1 big cavernous hall. There is a bar room as well as a tavern in the basement. Outdoor lawn has plenty of tables and lush greenery, perfect for a good weather day picnic. Our group was in a bigger room and a few steps downstairs from the bar area. Waitstaff was professional and helpful. We first ordered drinks, then starters. We ordered entrées after drinks and starters arrived for good pacing. Several of us shared a Skyfall Cabernet Sauvignon. It was smooth and fruity. We shared pimento cheese dip with veggies and bread triangles, bread basket, burrata and spiced cauliflower. All were excellent, Star was the burrata, so creamy and had pesto with it. My entree was a prosciutto sandwich with fig spread. The sandwich was on ciabatta bread. It held the sweet fig spread, savory prosciutto and soft Brie . Very filling and yummy, and came with crisp fries. Everyone loved their food. Some had dessert and coffee afterwards which was also top notch.

Dear Restaurant Owner,…read more My husband and I had been looking forward to dining at your restaurant for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to visit on Tuesday, June 2, before attending a concert nearby at 8:00 PM. We arrived at approximately 6:45 PM, were seated promptly, and were greeted by our server, Anna. She was pleasant; however, the service we received throughout the evening was extremely disappointing. We ordered drinks to start. My husband ordered a beer, and I ordered a rosé prosecco. When my drink arrived, it was visibly flat. I tasted it anyway and found it to be both warm and lacking carbonation. When I brought this to Anna's attention, she responded, "I noticed it looked flat too; I'll get you another one." Frankly, this was concerning. If she noticed the drink was not of acceptable quality, it should never have been served to a customer in the first place. We then ordered the mussels appetizer, which was excellent and one of the highlights of our visit. Shortly afterward, I ordered the swordfish special, and my husband ordered the shrimp po' boy. Neither dish would typically require an unusually long preparation time. Unfortunately, what followed was nearly an hour of waiting with no communication. Anna never checked on the status of our meals, nor did she provide any updates. Meanwhile, we watched multiple tables who were seated after us receive their food and complete their meals. By 7:45 PM, with our concert approaching, my husband suggested that we ask for our meals to be packed to go. It quickly became apparent that our entrees had not even been prepared. When Anna finally returned, she told us it would be "another five minutes," indicating that our meals had not yet been cooked despite being ordered nearly an hour earlier. At that point, we had no choice but to take the food to go so that we would not miss our concert. As a result, we ended up eating cold food later that evening. What made the experience particularly disappointing was that we had genuinely been excited to visit your restaurant. We had heard good things and were looking forward to a memorable dinner before our evening out. Instead, we left feeling overlooked and wondering what we had done to warrant such poor service and lack of attention. To my surprise, my husband--who is incredibly kind and non-confrontational--still left Anna a 20% tip, despite the fact that the service did not merit it. I am writing not to seek anything in return, but simply to make you aware of our experience. The quality of the mussels showed us that your kitchen is capable of producing excellent food. Unfortunately, the service and lack of communication overshadowed what should have been a wonderful evening. Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I hope it helps prevent future guests from having a similar experience. t
