It took a long time, a lot of dedicated people and a whole lot of money to get her back to Australia from Scotland. So, it's worth going to have a look. The ship was used to take the first colonist from England to South Australia. It could fit up to 300 people onboard and was one of the fastest ships to get you here. It was like a jet of ships. I wont tell you anymore of the history side of things, you can learn more about it when you go on the tour. It is a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. Good headroom inside of the cabin areas as well. Especially in comparison to other ships I have been on. So, I think that passengers had it pretty good on this ship. What is truly amazing is looking at the construction of the ship. All the materials, design and hard work to make it such a solid structure. No wonder it lasted so long. Take note of what the tour guide tells you when s/he explains the materials and processes. What I really do want to say about The Clipper is that you have to admire the hard work of all of the volunteers in looking after this girl and restoring her. It is so important for us to learn about how Australia came to be what it is today. And this is just one part. It is truly a piece of history that I hope continues to survive for generations to admire and day dream about. What was it like travelling on this vessel to a new unknown land? One thing is for sure, the people that travelled on this boat were really brave!

They sat us down and put glasses in front of us, and started pouring and explaining about the wine we were drinking. Our host was excellent and answered all of our questions. After about 3 or 4 tastings, 2 huge charcuterie platters arrived, and they were perfect and paired well with the wines. We worked our way up to the best wines, and each one was more impressive than the last. And while Fortified Wine was not on the tasting schedule, they let us try some of the Port, delicious! After our tasting, we walked around the property and took a great photo of our group in front of their sign. All in all, great wine, great winery adn friendly staff- I WILL be back!

Guided tours run by the Fort Glanville Historical Association are held every Tuesday afternoon's only but open to public on the third Sundays of each month. Kids would love the reenactment demonstrations as there are marching drills, men in suits parade exercises and canon firing. I can't think of a better way to embrace the historical moments when the Fort was used to guard the ships sailing across the Outer Harbour and Port River. I came here for a school formal once, and whilst it was very nice and fancy at the beginning of the evening, the kids lifted the roof on the dance floor. Whilst its appearance might put out a quiet, dainty character, once enough PAs are put into this place, it goes off! This is one of those gardens that sits in a very obvious spot next to a busy main street, King William Street to be precise, but it is a rare thing to see anyone sitting here - possibly because there is no shade to speak of, or maybe because the general population simply don't really appreciate the spot is actually very quiet and peaceful even though it is close to the road and the city. Named after and in honour of the first woman Councillor, Alderman and Deputy Lord Mayor that Adelaide ever had back in the late 1950's. If you were in a party of sixteen there would be enough seating for everyone to sit and contemplate. Twenty would be a slight squeeze. When it is a quiet morning and the weather is mild this would be a gorgeous place to stop and smell the roses.

Actually, it's pretty cool, and not too pricey to go for a wander through as well. There is lots of information regarding the various walls, as well as grafitti that has been left over (if that happens to be prisoner grafitti). The thing I found most interesting, even though it was mentioned nowhere, is how the gaol was built as a panoptacon, that is with the guards in a central watchhouse where they can pretty much see all over the prison. It's quite interesting, especially seeing how gaols like this actually operated.

You could go in the solitary confinement cells. Around the place was these plaques and you could read the stories of what happened. Overall I would solidly recommend anyone to go there!

The front store is well managed by volunteers who are friendly and easy to talk to. The exhibits in the hangars are truly amazing. You rarely get the chance to be so close to an F/A-18 or an F-111 unless you go to air shows regularly. The children can climb into some planes to examine the instruments and the inside, which they love. There are many platforms perfect for some fun photos. Don't forget to check out the second hangar for more cool planes like a Caribou and two helicopters. There's also a nice variety of toys for the little ones after the visit. I give it five stars.

I've been to wineries throughout Napa and the central coast in California and in other states. I'd rank Chateau Tanunda right alongside the best of those.
