I liked dealing with Lani in person. Services are expensive and not fast. We have to consider she has the store overhead expenses in a tough economy. She had to make two minor alterations on a simple $90 bridesmaid type satin dress. Raised the hem and tightened one arm strap and it was $75. I took another event dress that needed more complicated work (being it was several sizes too big) to someone else who had a home based operation with just social media marketing, because after this I was worried how much it would cost. It wound up being only $10 and 2 days of turn around. Both professionals did a great job on my dresses, so bottom line is I had no qualms about the quality here, it's just expensive. After seeing how another person works, I do wish Lani had spent a little more time assessing the fit though, because I think she could have identified another area to be addressed, but didn't realize until the day I had to wear the dress. I'd say, make sure you really take your time when looking at your tailoring needs while in Lani's shop, because I'm pretty sure she has the ability but is just quite busy. read more

Not a good experience. I had a small dog bed that needed a 4 inch seam sewn together and she could not do it with her machine so she could not do it. I guess sewing a 4 inch seam by hand was too much to ask. I did leave my duvet that needed buttons sewn on. I returned to collect it and of course they only accept cash which requires yet another trip back with cash. How many obstacles can you toss out before I won't return? I have reached it. read more

I have brought a number of items to be hemmed to Lani. She is terrific. She understands fully what needs to be done and does it well. I have not had her do anything too complicated yet but I have noticed that she has done so for other people. Right now I can only comment on what she has done for me and that been just the hemming of pants. I highly recommend Lani and I would go back to have work on other items in the future. read more

Great work! Fast turn-around! Fair pricing. I needed to have 36 drapery panels shortened for my house. I pinned them, measured them and brought them to Lani. What a great job. She advised against stitching the panels together because she believed (and I now agree) I wouldn't get the look I was seeking. She completed the work in a couple of days and each panel is exactly the same length. How do I know? Because I thought they weren't on one window--so I measured them. It turned I had hung the rod a half inch off level. But the drapery was hemmed to 1/16th of an inch. Great work and a really nice lady. Only draw back is that she operates as cash-only. Lani did a good job on the three items I needed to have altered. The reason for a 3-star review is because: she doesn't take credit cards, the alterations took about a week to do, and she charged more than some of her competitors. When I asked if she would do it for a little less to match her competitors, she refused. read more

I took a pair of pants here that I needed the waist taken out. I had gone to another local tailor but she told me it was impossible. Lani was able to do it perfectly, they look exactly the same! Lani really helped me out in a pinch. I ordered a dress for an event on Amazon and it was gorgeous, just a little too big. I came in 30 minutes before closing nd asked if she could take it in and have it ready in 24 hours. She said no problem! The dress turned out beautiful and I felt great in it! The price was less than I expected, only $25, but it was a fairly straightforward alteration. Keep in mind this place is CASH ONLY, but she does not mind if you pay at pickup.
