The exact opposite experience. Friendly, professional, and happy to take the work from the moment I walked in - no drama, no flat refusal, just "let's see what you've got." The rush pricing was reasonable, the turnaround was exactly what they promised, and the workmanship was excellent on both pieces. The shirt collar sits properly for the first time in years, and the pants hem is clean. A few minutes outside Palm Springs and worth every mile. This is what a real tailoring business looks like. She had to make two minor alterations on a simple $90 bridesmaid type satin dress. Raised the hem and tightened one arm strap and it was $75. I took another event dress that needed more complicated work (being it was several sizes too big) to someone else who had a home based operation with just social media marketing, because after this I was worried how much it would cost. It wound up being only $10 and 2 days of turn around. Both professionals did a great job on my dresses, so bottom line is I had no qualms about the quality here, it's just expensive. After seeing how another person works, I do wish Lani had spent a little more time assessing the fit though, because I think she could have identified another area to be addressed, but didn't realize until the day I had to wear the dress. I'd say, make sure you really take your time when looking at your tailoring needs while in Lani's shop, because I'm pretty sure she has the ability but is just quite busy.

Gume had to remove zippers, carefully take off rhinestones and pearls by hand, resize the dresses, and then put everything back together perfectly. It was an enormous amount of detailed work, and somehow she completed it all in just three days! The quality of her work is absolutely incredible. My dresses fit beautifully, and you would never know how much had to be altered. Beyond her talent, Gume is one of the kindest, friendliest, and most honest people I've met. Her prices were more than fair, especially considering the amount of labor and skill involved. I am beyond grateful for her help and would recommend her 1,000 times over. Straightforward one- or two-day rush job. Before I could explain what I needed, I was asked when I needed it by. I said within a day or two. The answer was a flat "no" - matter-of-fact, no counter-offer, no explanation. The shop was empty. The whole interaction lasted maybe 30 seconds. I would have gladly paid a significant rush premium, but there was no opening to even ask. Photos on their Yelp page show rush pricing posted on Post-it notes inside the shop, so the service appears to exist - it just wasn't on offer that day, for reasons I wasn't told. Reading other reviews, this seems to be a pattern rather than a one-off bad day, so don't bother with this business if you need alterations completed in a rush. Heads up: this isn't a standalone storefront, just a room inside a hair salon. I found another tailor in Cathedral City who took care of both items without issue - see my other review. Two stars instead of one only because the parking was easy.

Each item is cherished and now having them back in my wardrobe, I am going to continue to recommend them. This week I am taking an antique quilt for repair where ink was spilled. I have watched people in for fittings, in beautiful formalwear. The shop is easy to find- park behind the JC Penney in the covered garage, lower level, and walk in the mall entrance (second door) and they are just across from JC Penney Store near the childrens' play area. Terrible customer service ! The lady in the front has a…read morenasty attitude !! Never coming back again! They lost a customer for sure I come regularly and this time I went to pick up my pants I always get them done with no crease and I noticed one of them had a crease on them So I let the lady know "hey I asked for no crease on all of them. "She rolled her eyes and didn't even say anything to me She just took the pants out off the bag and hangar and told me to wait a couple minutes. No apologies no nothing , she didn't even ask if I could wait a couple of minutes she just decided on her own that I had a couple of minutes to spare. Luckily I didn't have anywhere to be. When she is done she just hangs up my pants and yells "it's ready" and walks away. I wasn't asking for my money back or trying to argue with them I was just trying to solve a problem which THEY made and I get treated like if I started the issue.

The set was finally located, but it took a lot of work to find it and didn't instill a lot of confidence in leaving my valuable items with them again.
