Dr. Kim is a great orthodontist, but I recommend you take your business elsewhere…read more I got my braces taken off in February 2015. I had a lingual retainer placed on the lower (aka, permanent retainer.) In May of 2015, it broke. I called and the receptionist, Mary, told me that it would be the end of September before she could get me in and to get the dentist I worked for to fix it, so I did. Last week, it broke again, so I called and was able to get an appointment for today. I was charged $200 because I was past my six month warranty on the retainer. When I questioned it, Mary was EXTREMELY rude and told me that it was my fault because I grind my teeth. I explained to her that Dr. Kim knew I grind my teeth when she placed the retainer and never told me that this could become a problem, or I would have gotten a removable retainer. She replied "well I don't know" and waved me off. During this conversation, Mary thought it was appropriate to ask me if I was pregnant and, upon me saying no, replied "well, it's okay, we all gain weight after getting married." At this point, I requested to speak to Dr. Ward. Mary went back to Dr. Ward and I could hear her steadily complaining about me. She came back and told me that that wouldn't change anything, but I was adamant. She huffed and said, "well, she is busy and you will have to wait." So, I did. I explained the whole situation to Dr. Ward, and her response was basically that I was lying about Mary telling me in May that they would not have time for me until September and to get my employer to fix it, thus pushing me out of my warranty. She then had the audacity to state that my employer probably did something to break it. She did apologize for the comment about my weight and agreed to let me make payments, so I guess that was better than nothing. Point is, Dr. Ward is a good orthodontist, but there are plenty of other orthodontists around Andalusia who are just as good, but are honest people when their cheap materials fail and have kinder receptionists. Take your money elsewhere and save yourself the headache.

After finding my records they said I need a new x-ray. I said okay. We then set an appointment a whopping 2.5 months out, to which I agreed. Then a week ago they sent a text saying my appointment was approaching for a dental cleaning. I said "no, its for a filling". They said "well you need an x-ray" I said "okay". Now with the appointment tomorrow they said " Okay we need an x-ray, the treatment we will schedule you, we are scheduling for 2 months from now" So, I let my filling need wait and worsen out of loyalty for the office, now pushed out months away. I then came here and other locations to give a review and report them to the BBB and Alabama Board. If on the call they said "If you think you need a filling now, wait 4-5 months" I would have looked elsewhere Beware!!
