I traveled to Ireland in April, and I am just getting around to transferring all my notes into reviews. It has been a busy summer! This is a no frills, more historical looking hotel. It is located in a good part of Dublin--the Ballsbridge area. Some areas of Dublin can be sketchy so it is important to know where exactly you're staying. It is also near the rugby stadium, which, is a huge draw if you are going there for a match. I was able to walk, or uber to all the popular Dublin attractions that I wanted to see including St. Stephen's Green, the Jameson Distillery, Trinity College, Guinness Factory, Temple Bar area etc. There were also plenty of dining options nearby.
Rooms were clean, and had all the standard amenities including a hair dryer, tea kettle, tea and coffee selection. The hotel also includes a restaurant, and a popular rugby bar. They also host the Irish House Party, which is an evening of singing, dancing, eating, and drinking. So there is a quite a bit going on at this location! The staff was friendly, and helpful. Check in and check out process went very smoothly. There was also plenty of information on tourist activities in the lobby for you to browse.
I was traveling solo, and felt very safe as the areas with the rooms require keycard access so people going to the hotel for dining or entertainment could not get into the area where the guests were. The front door is locked after hours, which was also a plus, and the front desk is manned 24/7! It is a nice place if you're looking for a comfortable, no frills room at an affordable price! read more
