Although I went in expecting more of a paranormal type of atmosphere/information session, I definitely enjoyed being on this tour with my partner. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of our tour guide, but she was absolutely lovely as well as hilarious and informative! A true history buff! (And anyone who can quote The Simpsons is great in my book!) Anyway, she took our group to areas of the city that my partner and I had only just visited earlier in the very same day. This time around, we can't help but think of the fascinating stories we'd heard on that night whenever we happen to pass by those exact areas. You'll be certain to get an entirely new perspective on Melbourne after this! read more

I came across this site while in Melbourne. I did a walking tour in London years ago and loved it. My wife is very in tune to the psychic and I surprised her with this. We did the old melbourne tour on friday night with Charlotte. Not only do you get ghosts, you get history too. Learned about the city and had a wonderful time. So much so that we decided to do the Pentridge tour as well. I went online and tried to book the pentridge tour but it was full. So I sent an email and quickly got a response and they worked us in as we have to return to the United States and could only do that night. Both tours were great, I dont "believe" in the ghosts too much but I will say this - I will NEVER go back in pentridge again. That place is creepy. You wont be dissapointed on the tours and if you can get Charlotte go for it. read more
90 minute walking tour around the streets and laneways of Melbourne departing from Fed Square - tour was led by the animated and knowledgeable Matt who was fantastic! We learnt a lot about Melbourne's ghostly and dark history, with some of the stops including the Princess Theatre, Pink Alley, Parliament House and China Town. A definite night tour for everyone, even the homegrown of Melbourne read more

We had the best guide for this trip. Sawyer made it amazing. Genuinely the best person you could get for this tour. Not only did he make it more scary he was extremely funny while obviously loving his job. I would go back just to take another trip to hear that man speak. We went with a larger group but he made everyone feel included especially the 10 year old boy that went with us. If you have a free minute try to pop in and experience the creepy tunnels for yourself and of course ask for Sawyer! read more

Why is this called a ghost tour? After 90 minutes the guide only mentioned one ghost. The places we stopped at on the tour had nothing to do with the stories being told. 110 minutes later we finally hear the second ghost story. Some of the stories are somewhat entertaining but most are downright boring. Unfortunately, the tour lasted 30 minutes longer than advertised, which was complete torture. read more

We had Matt as our guide and what a wonderful experience. A very friendly young gentleman. He had certain 19th charm about him and was very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk too. Answered all questions asked and made the tour very interactive which was good. We chatted about Jack the Ripper and was good to see someone young have the interest in this area. So thank you for the chat Matt. The history on the tour was fantastic - enough that I wanted to follow up and do more reading and research. The tour was done at a nice easy walking pace and the time went fast. Would highly recommend if you want something different to the mainstream tours of Melbourne even if you not a history buff or believe in the paranormal. Thank you Matt for a fantastic night and for helping us at end of night read the map!!! read more

Last month my wife & I booked ourselves in with Lantern Ghost Tours of Melbourne. I had heard about these tours and had wanted to do one for a long time so tonight was the night. At 10:30 pm we met Jeremy under the information sign at Federation Square and along with 28 other people we were ready to venture out into the night and into a labyrinth of laneways throughout Melbourne for a magical tour. The night was cold and there was a bit of drizzly rain which just added to the atmosphere of the night. Well, Jeremy was a wealth of information and we eagerly hung off his every word as he told us about various murders that had ocurred in certain laneways and certain ghosts that were said to frequent these areas where they came to grief. Even hearing about the history of Melbourne and its many landmarks was beyond fascinating! I was amazed at how little I knew about my hometown and the many incredible laneways that snaked their way throughout the city. We ended the night in the ballroom of the Windsor Hotel which was incredible. I can't recommend this tour highly enough and was very impressed with the professionalism of the tour. A great night was had by all! read more

Lantern Ghost tours run such great tours that my husband and I have done a few of their tours, such as the Melbourne, Williamstown, Altona and Eynesbury. Next on the list now is Point Cook and Ararat. Not only do you visit interesting places but we also learnt so much about places within our own city that we grew up in. And the guides are excellent, very entertaining. I would highly recommend this to anyone. read more
