October rolled around and we had to cancel again as we got hit by a hurricane. Damage to our home and we were unable to travel at that time. Rescheduled the trip for May 2025. The Fairview would NOT refund us for the October trip; they stated I never cancelled. I did cancel. I asked if we could have a credit and rebook for May; they never replied to my 2 emails OR my online request thru their website. So much for customer service. Had to eat the entire cost - 2 nites and 2 rooms. Beyond disappointed that they wouldn't even work with me.

The owners and staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable stay. Our upgraded room had an in suite jacuzzi. I could sit and take in the balcony view of the town for hours. We did find our way across the street to Murphy's Pub for a taste of the elusive Middleton whiskey. The service was stellar, the crowd upbeat and the live band made the night complete.

The lodge was sparkling clean, nicely furnished, quiet, and in a very convenient location, just off of the main city centre (just a couple minutes away). And breakfast was SUPERB!!! Definitely the best breakfast we had while in Ireland, we traveled all over. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make sure we had what we needed, even taking care of our laundry. Our stay was comfortable, homey, and pampered, and I would definitely stay here again!!! We were on our honeymoon, but I think this would be a great place for families to stay, too.

We were looking for a place that was a good home base for the Southwest Coast of Ireland, specifically the Dingle Peninsula. Well, this place was above and beyond our expectations. The service was superb! Make sure you take the time to get to know the owner John King, as he is extremely friendly, accommodating, and just a nice person to talk to. The breakfast was fantastic, and when John found out it was our honeymoon, he brought our breakfast to our room! Great service. The lodge also has a great location as we could walk to the town centre for food or beers (plenty of pubs) and we had walks to Ross Castle, Killarney National Park, and Lough Leane. We saw so many amazing places, just by walking from the Abbey Lodge. Also, we took a train from Dublin, and the Lodge is close to the train station, and if someone is an American scared about driving on the opposite side of the road, Killarney is an easy place to get your feet wet. The Budget Rental Car is right near the lodge, and you will meet another great man, Liam, who will go out of his way to help you. Rent the car, DRIVE TO DINGLE, walk around all of Killarney, and stay at the Abbey Lodge.

Ross Castle Lodge Bed and Breakfast in Killarney, Ireland is a great value and a welcoming place to…read morestay. I was welcomed with a lovely chat over tea and a scone by the innkeeper Rosaleen O'Leary! I really appreciated her taking time to get to know me and share her thoughts on Irish history and culture. My room was good sized, appealing and a great value. Showers were hot with good water pressure. The gardens on the property were just gorgeous - imagine Secret Garden type plantings. My stay included a complete hot Irish breakfast with lots of coffee, eggs and Irish bacon - similar to a fried ham. Mmmm. I enjoyed a morning walk down the road to Ross Castle, which I highly recommend. Who knew the advancements in medieval architecture and defense? Ross Castle Lodge B&B is adjacent to the Killarney National Park, and one may walk through the park to get to the 'town' of Killarney where you'll find lots of restaurants, pubs & shops. Booking was easy via email. Walkable distance to town and the train station - but a cab is easier for arrivals! They gave us great recommendations and also drove us to the bus station when we had to leave. Killarney was amazing! It was our favorite city in Ireland and we would love to go back. We liked that they had a washer/dryer- that was probably one of the biggest pluses. Cons - Pictures are deceiving. It wasn't clean and smelled like it came straight out of the 70s. The bathroom needs a serious upgrade and the shower was moldy and tiny. There was no way I was shaving my legs in it. There were flys every where to include the breakfast room or dining room. The breakfast was less than stellar. There was old food in the freezer. I wouldn't stay there again.

Hazelwood was a great place to stay! When we arrived in Killarney, Nora insisted on picking us up from the train station, which was very nice of her as it would've been a bit of a walk with our suitcases. The room was comfortable and there was a great view of the mountains from one of the windows. Breakfast was delicious too! We had an option of cereals and fruit or a full cooked breakfast, which I enjoyed both mornings and was not disappointed! Nora and her husband even arranged for a tour company to pick us up at the house for a day tour of the Gap of Dunloe, which made our trip so easy! We slept in quite a bit our second morning at Hazelwood - recovering from an 11km horse ride and a few whiskeys the day before - and Nora was kind enough to make us breakfast even though it was late morning. We totally weren't expecting it, and it was very nice of her to accommodate us! Would definitely recommend this place!

Note that, like most places in Ireland, the B&B does not have A/C nor fan.
