Small but sweet This is one of the smallest airports I've ever been in, but also a very nice airport. I thought the Fort Myers airport Florida was small until I found myself here in Laredo. I think only 3 or 4 airlines fly out of here, and there may only be 2 or 3 gates for planes. This airport is very clean and feels new and fresh inside. They were even doing some work to make it better and more beautiful. The TSA agents were the nicest I've ever met. Other airports they're not very nice and sometimes they are rude. There's nothing I could really complain about with this airport, so I'm giving 5 stars. If I had to find something to complain about it would only be they could use another food vendor. They have Chick-fil-A but that's it. Not bad but maybe something else would help too. read more

This has been one of my favorite airports so far! The service was absolutely amazing and I love the way they give you free food when you hungry. Also one of the cleanest airports I've seen in my 571 years of life would %10000000000 taking a stinky dumpy in this airport because they actually suck the stinky off Uranus if it gets stuck %100 recommend! read more

Wow, this is a small airport. Upon exiting the plane, it reminded me of the terminal in Kildeer, ND.....with such a small room for only 4 gates. I don't see myself flying into or out of this airport very often, but at least there is an airport in this city. read more

Just went through TSA and felt 2 random people staring at me while I was waiting on a line for more than 30 minutes that only had about 15 people in front of me and little did I know they were Secret enforcement that took my bag and talked to me differently than the 15 people in front of me aswell as the other 15 in back. Now that I am waiting on my flight I have workers just walking by me and staring . Very uncomfortable and embarrassing . read more

This was my final destination from Cancun. Never been here before. Really did not know what to expect of the airport on a border town. I was pleasantly surprised...... small airport and clean, friendly staff. At least the few I spoke with we're friendly and even started in a conversation. One baggage claim here. Easy in and easy out. No complaints about this airport. read more

Nice little airport. With only four gates, it would be hard to make things difficult. Speedy security. Three airlines are here: American Eagle (to Dallas-Ft. Worth), Continental Express (Houston Intercontinental), and Allegiant (Las Vegas). Flights are typically full to DFW and IAH. With Laredo being the largest land trade route between the US and Mexico and the boatload of Gov't agencies (Customs, Border Patrol, etc.) it is perplexing why Southwest doesn't serve Laredo. read more

Wonderful ATC we weren't able to circle to land due to the ceilings and the crew worked it out for us to land 18L. Wouldn't get that kind of service at a major hub. Hands down great airport. read more

So I woke up bright and early to embark on my multi-stop flight back home to San Francisco. I normally fly In and out of Austin as the ticket prices are usually something like 600% cheaper than flying out of Laredo, but, this time, Orbitz hooked me up with a flight (ok, 3 flights that would eventually take me) to San Jose for something like $200 bucks. So the money I saved from not driving to Austin plus the price of a Cal-Train ticket into SF was still worth the price. Anyway, enough about me, and on to Laredo Int'l which can best be described as one of the wackiest airports I've been in. First of all, I grew up in Laredo, and had driven passed this airport many times before ever setting foot inside, even from a distance, it's obvious, this is a tiny airport. You could easily fit two of them inside any one of the three local Wal-marts here in this blazing border town. Don't let this trick you in to thinking that you'll be able to speed through the usual airport routine. There may only be 5 people ahead of you in line, but the guy at the counter is clearly doing all calculations via abacus because it takes FOREVER if you're checking in any luggage. In fact, even if you're not checking anything, you still have to wait in line, unless you were smart and printed your boarding pass at home, skip the line and head directly to security! The employees, or should I say employee (I later spotted the same guy who checked me in was now on the runway directing traffic) weren't rude, they weren't much of anything. Don't expect conversation, smiles, or even words when dealing with them. I guess they are making up for the lack of self-check-in computers by having robotic emotionless employees. (if your flight is booked through Continental have no fear. They have two of those self-check-in thingamabobs. But none for United, which happened to be my airline) This leads me to my next point. Flying out of Laredo International is probably a good airport for first time flyers. It's a little like Airporting for dummies. As you examine the CHALKBOARD that lists the departures/arrivals you'll notice that all flights take you to Houston. Confused by all the different airlines, flight numbers... Gate numbers you usually find at the airport? Well you're in luck because no matter what your reservation says, what your boarding pass reads, you're probably flying Continental and you're boarding at gate 3. I was a bit concerned when I couldn't find my flight on the CHALKBOARD. But hey, it's a CHALKBOARD! How often can those things be updated anyway? My reservation said I was flying United, but when I finally got my boarding pass printed it now read Continental. Oh well, they all go to Houston right? So 15 minutes later I was checked in and was headed up the escalators just to be stopped abruptly by the security checkpoint placed an akward two steps off the escalator. The first people you'll meet at security will be two border patrol officers waiting to see if you're capable of uttering the words 'american citizen.' The next guy, the TSA officer will be more than happy to put his hands all over your stuff and ask you three times if you've removed your nonexsistant belt as you fumble to place all your belongings on the conveyer belt. If you've made it this far, well you're in for a treat as you're about to see, probably, the most expensive piece of equipment in the entire airport. The gigantic... people scanning... x-ray... digital disrober. You'll be asked to place your feets in the squares and throw your hands in the air, and hold for about 100 minutes. This is the perfect opportunity to practice feeling extremely akward. Once they've got a pretty good grasp on what you look like naked, you'll move on to the next guy who will give your crotch a good pat down to ensure the contents of your bladder do not exceed the 3oz limit. You're almost on the plane! So your boarding pass says Gate 2 right? Well you can hang out at gate 2 with all the dust bunnies, but I would advise you to look to your left, and then to your right. See that big group of people boarding? That's probably your flight. If it's not, does it matter? They all go to Houston anyway! Go board that little puddle jumper and get your ass out of Laredo! read more

Let me just say that although I've never actually been inside the airport, and this review may be out of place, but because I don't know the name of the restaurant(s) inside this airport I am placing this awesome 5 star review here. Thanks to my job and co-workers, I have had a chance to eat their chicken tacos. SO GOOD. If you ever find yourself stuck at this airport, their chicken taco will make that bad day BETTER. Small airport. Never got into a plane there, but my husband does. He came in 30 min before the olane leaves and he lost the plane, they do 't have many flights leaving Laredo, but still they didn't let him take theplane. It is always clean and quiet read more

TSA is one line and on SLOW mode. NY is faster. Speed limit is 5 mph and pulled over for going over that, but let go. 5 is almost walking speed and your car idles above that ... must be because everyone moves so SLOW.. read more

This is an awesome small airport very easily to park to pick up your passengers and or purchase a ticket and the parking under 3 hours is free. What else can I say awesome is the word. read more

Small cafe but the beer, nachos, & coffee are life! Yes had all 3 while there. Lol! Great place to sit and chill while waiting to board your plane. Came here w/family before heading to vegas to get married. Great service, and excellent food. 5 stars & Two big thumbs up! read more

The employee are cool but there no foods on second floor and their PA system sucks

I love my Laredo International Airport!!! Its so easy to go from parking lot to ticket counter to gate. Unlike many other airports where you actually have to get there 2 to 3 hours in advance to board your flight. At Laredo International Airport you can arrive there at the airport 30 to 45 minutes before the flight leaves...and still get on board! You also cannot go wrong, by eating at the restaurant on the first floor there. The food is just plain awesome!!! The food there is so good, lots of people from the community who have no business at the airport what so ever, just go there to dine out. To help this out, the first three hours of parking is free there. read more

Small airport, coming from North Dakota definitely needs an upgrade. The waiting area is awkward and for some reason the rental places are hidden away. read more
