Very bad experience with this low-grade hospital full of foreign doctors and impassively entitled arrogant administrative staff

Do not go here. Did an ultrasound and dr didn't come out to tell me I had suspicions of cancer. She made the tech tell me need further testing. I showed another hospital to find out. Just go to a major city. Physicians here do not speak to u, which they should. Also heard from former employees many reasons not to go here. My regret is going here and wasting money. read more

LMC KILLED MY FATHER. they deliberately did everything wrong to make his condition even worse and they never really cared about making him better. They completely neglected him. they are just like every other hospital in the big Pharma system. They are just here to keep you sick and to kill you off at the end because it's cheaper for them. and then they comment on one of my reviews saying that they want to hear more about this and to call them, like what is that gonna do?? y'all don't care y'all aren't gonna do anything. if I was rich and I had money, I would definitely sue the sh*t out of this hospital. read more

Recently registerEd for surgery at LMC and was absolutely disgusted with employees registering patients. Employees were extremely slow to call other patients for registration talking and laughing with each other,some were watching television that is in waiting area from their work stations. Only three of the six intake stations were open. Registration numbering system not called in order. My wife and I literally felt like cattle not patients. it is my intent to post video of this treatment. Treatment is better in Mexico where I would have gone if I could use my insurance there! Actually had a positive and pleasant experience at Dr. Cigarroa's office. The staff were professional and helpful from start to finish (which sadly can be a rarity in Laredo, TX), and the doctor himself was very good. Not sure about the rest of the Laredo Medical Center (facilities look nice for South Texas), but the Cigarroa clinic is great! read more

Head Nurse was the Most rude person I have ever encountered with my visits to any hospital. I had questions about some paperwork and was told someone would be out to speak with me. The head nurse then approached me and as I attempted to great him as polite as possible while I set my phone down that I was currently on a call with my supervisor to put him on hold. I said hello and his first words were "you need to hang that up before I speak to you, you are not allowed to have your phone on." Confused I told him it was just my supervisor on hold and he proceeded to tell me "This conversation is between us and no one else's business so I will not talk to you until your phone is off." being extremely hostile for no reason as if he was afraid I was recording him. He continued in this manner for the rest of our conversation. His behavior was Extremely unexpected and unprofessional and I will do everything possible to never visit this hospital again. read more

Genuinely one of the worst experiences I've ever had super unprofessional staff and honestly, pretty much useless. I went with concerns of my area to just be told that basically, my vagina is fighting the fat? Like what that's not even a thing not just that, but I've had this problem since I was a child. And then when talking to someone that diagnosed me at 13 with a hormone imbalance to later, tell me that they don't even understand what that is after giving me hormone pills at 13 is truly concerning... As an adult now I'm honestly in shock this place used to be amazing. read more

The staff is slow , no sense of urgency. I Love the people that attended my Mom while there. We are not from your town but everyone was so polite and very respectful and courteous and that made the slowness not sooo bad - Please work on speeding up all areas / departments - two examples we asked for a blanket that took a while - takes so long to ask the doctor a question and get response . it's bad enough we have to meet under what for some would say bad circumstances- let's speedy up the process- I definitely would come back to the Saunders location where you are treated like family and most importantly with care ! Incompetent, This hospital dismissed Lymphoma as dengue fever. After multiple visits the patient was sent home over and over again. No doctor even bothered to take a closer look at a fever over 100 for 3 months and night sweats and clearly visible enlarged lymph nodes. Save yourself and your loved ones and drive to a real hospital. read more

my expecting daughter is in the room waiting to see a doctor we have been here for 2 hours now she is having an allergic reaction to a new medication that was prescribed to her her tongue is swelling and her mouth is locking up. Very disappointed in the quality of phone service provided by this facility! When a person is in the emergency room and loved ones are trying to call from out of town, you'd hope to expect someone to answer. Not with this facility! I've called the main line who transferred me over, but to no avail. I've called and stayed on the phone that rang for 5 minutes, then it went to a busy signal. Tried to call again, but no one answered. It is a very helpless feeling when a family member is so far away and cannot get answers. read more

I'm a retired registered nurse. I was a patient here six years ago. Hospital was poor quality at that time. It has deteriorated to life-threatening now. They cannot even meet basic needs now. My husband was admitted with severe dementia. I gave him water to drink before I left. I came back 15 hours later and he had no water glass or pitcher. Next day, same thing. Was told by the nurse that he had gotten a urine specimen but had forgotten it in the room. When he went back later, it was gone. My husband probably drank it because he was thirsty and very confused. The doctor ordered that his catheter be discontinued. Two days later my husband pulled it out himself (with the resulting bleeding). No wheelchairs or pillows in the er, the monitors don't all work. Don't trust your life with these people, even if your alert and aware. You don't know what's going on behind the scene. read more

Great hospital with great people that does a really good job taking care of our residents of Laredo

This truly is the most disgusting hospital I have ever seen in my life! They make extra sure your ER visit will be as inconvenient & annoying as possible. From an outsiders point of view, I've never seen a hospital this unorganized & filthy. We had to take my 85 year old mother-in-law into the ER, because she was having heart attack symptoms and we waited from 1:45 PM till 9:45 PM to be seen. She has insurance too! The last time my MIL came to the ER, she told me that she waited from 5 PM all the way till 6 AM the next morning just to see a triage nurse. That is unacceptable! They had no wheelchairs for elderly people, nor any advice on what we could do if she were to pass out in the waiting room. This woman could of died in the waiting room and the uncaring, moronic staff wouldn't even flinched. They probably have the local funeral home on speed-dial, since they make people wait so long. I am 99.9% certain that nobody in the general vicinity of the ER know how to perform basic CPR either. What kind of medical facility doesn't have wheelchairs for people? What kind of medical facility has dirty, bratty, Apocalypto-looking-children running up & down the waiting room, screaming at the top of their lungs, making the environment even more unsanitary? Well, apparently this place does.This hospital doesn't offer masks for people that are sick with possible flu, tuberculosis or other respiratory diseases, nor hand sanitizer. I noticed hand sanitizer stations, but all of them were empty. The restrooms were out of toilet paper AND hand soap. What kind of hospital doesn't have hand soap or toilet tissue? Is this not the basic fundamentals of keeping germs/bacteria at bay? Hospitals are not only supposed to treat sick people, but they are to educate the community on ways of preventing the spread of diseases. How can they claim to do this, when people can't even wash their hands? When my MIL was finally admitted, an ER doc came into the room after another two hours and asked if she had done a stress test lately. Uh, no, you moron, she is an 85 year old woman, who can hardly walk, and presented with chest pains, shortness of breath, high blood pressure and severe nausea. She has had this for weeks, so no, she didn't get around to getting on a treadmill and walking at a high rate of speed. Where did this pinhead go to medical school? He was like Dr. Nick from, "The Simpsons." This hospital needs to hire educated & trained staff, but I guess the population of Laredo is lacking in those qualities. They also need to follow an example of a good quality hospital, like the ones in Houston or Austin. This hospital reminds me of one in a 3rd world country, simply from the nimrods working there, to the patients sitting/sleeping in the waiting room. Horrible, horrible service.There are too many issues to name with this place. All I know is, if you or a loved one is in need of health care in a hospital setting, you'd be seen quicker by driving to San Antonio on a freakin moped! read more
