Below is our experience with Largo-CR Homes. PRE-CONSTRUCTION: I met with 7 builders, and while all were extremely nice and informative, I was impressed with Largo as they were the only ones who actually went to our lot prior to our meeting. They were also the only ones who had an architect there at the meeting to discuss the design of the home in relation to the lot. Their pricing was extremely competitive, felt very comfortable with Craig Rymal, and my wife and I signed a contract with them. DESIGN: Having never built a home before, we were intimidated by the "selection" process but Cheryl Rymal made the process pleasant and palatable, scheduling 1 day on, 1 day off, 1 day on, 1 day off, and 1 day on. She did this to give us time to let the previous day sink in. Also, based on the quoted price, we assumed that the "standards" would need to be upgraded and made an assumption that it would be around $20-25K before we met. As the selection process proceeded, we were surprised to find that the allowances were much higher than we thought. We did do a number of upgrades but the total overage only came in about $5000 over. CONSTRUCTION: The construction was started when it was supposed to start and other than a 10 day delay during the weather (can't pour a foundation in rain which is for OUR benefit) everything has gone as planned. Again, we have not experienced any significant delays with work continually going on each week. As the project progressed, communication has been excellent and on our trips down to see the progress, we have been extremely satisfied with the workmanship. The project manager has made many suggestions based on both his personal and professional experience and each suggestion has proven to be correct. It is obvious he takes pride in his work and it shows. CONCLUSION: While our house is not yet complete (appears to be on schedule and should be within a month or so), I have no doubt that any issues that we may have after the home is complete, will be addressed accordingly. In my personal and professional experience, people just can't change like that. If they do, I will amend this review. The bottom line is I didn't have to post this review, I WANTED to post this review. If they had done a poor job, I would be the first to blast them with a negative review, but based on my experience with them, I cannot recommend Craig, Cheryl and the entire staff at Largo-CR Homes enough. read more

We had our first of several experiences with Largo-CR Homes beginning back in 2012. We were in the midst of building three custom homes with another builder in Hilton Head Lakes (formerly known as Tradition) when said builder unexpectedly walked away from the project and left us holding the bag. Previous contractors did not want to come near the home as the previous builder did not pay his sub contractors. We were scrambling to find an honest builder that would finish up a few things on two of the homes and complete the interior on the third home. We went thru another round of Hilton Head Lakes affiliated contractors that took advantage of our situation and went so far as even attempting to bill us for replacement of their broken tools. Needless to say we fired them as quickly as possible. We were extremely fortunate to have been introduced to Craig & Cheryl at Largo-CR Homes. They quickly stepped in and took complete control of the situation in a calm and understanding manner. They reviewed the situation and brought in their sub-contractors and got all the outstanding issues resolved and the houses completed. They were up front and honest in all interactions and exceeded our expectations at every turn. Since that time we have undertaken several additional projects with Largo-CR Homes. They have always recommended top quality contractors when any small project, like painting, or repairs, like windows or floors, were needed on our properties. The relationship with them continued to grow when we worked with them to build another custom home in Hilton Head Lakes on an empty lot we owned. They handled the complete project from the beginning, with working thru an architect to picking out interior finishes, to the very end, when handing us the keys, with complete honesty and professionalism. We entrusted Cheryl with her keen sense of design to select the interior finishes. The construction quality is excellent and is heads and shoulders above what the production builders provide. We had the opportunity to walk thru the home while under construction numerous times. Their attention to detail is evident in both the physical construction and the finished interior/exterior product. We even utilized them to build yet another custom home for other family members in Hilton Head Lakes. We felt completely at ease in handing them the project and trusted them 100%. The quality of the finished product cannot even be compared to what the other production and some custom home builders offer. Their knowledge and experience is exactly what you want to find in a custom home builder. Their standard product includes so many more and upgraded features as compared to other custom builders where you are being charged extra. And yes, there were questions, concerns, and issues that came up on every project. This ain't our first rodeo and it is to be expected when building custom homes. But they always got it resolved in a calm, reasonable, and efficient manner. Their entire team of architects, office support, project managers and sub-contractors are always a pleasure to deal with. Their dedication to continue to support their product goes well beyond any standard industry provided warranty. I know they will be around long after a manufacturer's warranty has expired and will do their very best to assist us should any future issues arise. Thank you Cheryl and Craig and the whole Largo-CR Homes team for initially bailing us out and welcoming us in the Largo-CR Homes family over these past 7 years. It has been a great relationship so far and I expect will continue for many more years. I know we will be contacting Largo-CR Homes on the next home project we undertake and would recommend that anybody thinking of building a home in the area to definitely speak with Largo-CR Homes when beginning the process. read more

Extremely unorganized company. Little to no supervision of subcontractors which leaves to many foreseeable mistakes that have to be corrected sometimes multiple times. Example; wrong garage door installed, wrong interior doors installed, wrong commodes in stalled. (2) Tiled showers done in incorrect pattern that had to be redone. The list is extremely long of the many many errors from the grading of our lot which was not done properly to the final touches. I would NOT recommend this builder to anyone. read more

Im so in love with our house! I so love the people who made this happen. I love the Rymals, Aaron in Finance, the Architects, and the entire field Office from the Project Managers to the awesome Customer Service Reps! Thank you! This was our first build. Im so glad we had Craig and Cheryl hold our hands through this whole process. Being our first build, it required a lot of home work on our part. It began with a meeting with Craig and letting them know what we wanted in our home. Of course at this time we were not ready to build, but we did touch base with them every time we were in SC. Fast forward to 2017 when we gave Craig the go ahead to commence drawings for our home. After many changes going back and forth to get our home just right and with advice from the Rymals who were extremely patient with me and my need for symmetry, a final decision was made. We had kept in constant touch with Craig and he with us. Prior to even digging a hole in the ground, it was contractually necessary to make our selections. My husband requested Cheryl to send us a list of all the appliances, fixtures and fittings etc that was going into our home. We reviewed and reviewed again where every door, every switch etc etc was going. We visited a Ferguson Showroom in our home State and researched what was going in and decided at that time what would go in our home. It pays to be prudent and research. It prevents poor outcomes down the line! This is OUR home therefore the onus is on the Owner not the Builder to ensure this is what we wanted. I was very happy that we would have the expertise of Cheryl Rymal. On selection day, we visited the different Vendors and with Cheryl's expert opinion, we were able to make our selections very quickly. This lady knows her stuff. If you dont want your house looking like a science experiment, listen to her. She doesnt impose her opinion but has done this for so long, that her experience is a very important and valuable asset. Of course this too comes free of charge. Ive seen other builders send their clients with the drawings to the Vendors and leave them to their own devices! The key here was that we ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED in our home at every stage, even before a hole was dug. PERSONAL CHOICES=PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY. I think we still hold the record for the fastest selections made! We were kept abreast of all aspects of the build to include pictures. No one else does this! When we came in for our electrical walk through, it was extremely cold, yet we had everyone involved out here to help us through this. Small changes were made and every request was graciously accepted. On moving day, Mike was here to help us with the walk through. He patiently answered all our questions and instructed us how to start the punch list. Im going to step on my Soap box now. This is where I disagree with those who become perennial whiners and complainers after the build. Yes, things happen. We dont live in Utopia. I also dislike those who fault the Builder for their own poor choices. This is dishonesty! Remember, YOU made those selections, not the Builder. Remember YOU signed off on YOUR selections! There is something to be said about the lack of integrity of those pinning the blame on the Builder, for their own poor choices. You have the opportunity to take charge of your selections and do your own research. I also find it duplicitous to now have the Builder pay for YOUR bad choices. CR-Largo homes bends over backwards to fix issues that crop up. All you perennial whiners, I dare you to walk in their shoes, do what they do and see if you can execute it perfectly with nary a complaint!!!!! There will always be those who incessantly whine and complain no matter what is done for them, will never be happy no matter what. It must be hard living life that way. I have a hard time believing that the stringent building inspectors who inspect every step, not see faulty wiring or poorly hung doors or anything that would jeopardize safety! These kind of people know if they bad mouth the Builder, they get what they want. That's duplicitous behavior and is disgusting! Off my soap box. I am here to tell potential clients, to look past the noise of complainers, step aside from the rhetorical gymnastics being performed and go to a home these folks build. Please talk to the home owner and get an honest opinion. See what beautiful homes they build. Emotions aside, the facts will always become a game changer. We had a choice of Builders and what CR-Largo offers as standard in their homes, is charged at an exorbitant rate by their Competitors. They also build to a higher standard than what is required by the County. This was evident in how many anchors were used in the frame and the quality of hurricane clips used. We are very happy with our home! Its a magnificient build, done by folks who truly care every step of the way.
