The reason for four stars has to do with Federal Laws on the transfer of handguns- so this really should be five stars. If it's a factory firearm, Larry's has the best prices period. Several of the recently introduced Ruger firearms, the senior executives from Ruger have been seen working behind the counter here- because Larry's is the highest volume Ruger dealer in the world. Ammo shortages have been reported around the U.S. , but, (yep you guessed it) Larry's is the highest volume ammunition dealer for (what were the ATK brands Federal and CCI - Speer) in the world. So if Larry's doesn't have it, it's not being made. Yes there is a little rationing going on, but a case is a lot of ammo in any caliber - yes I said case (that is 10,000 22LR)! A few months ago I took some tools there to sell, an Angle Drill and and 2 other tools whey was all like new and in the box and they wanted to give me only $10 each, I also ordered a Handgun online and after waiting 2 weeks I called them and found out it was in Arizona, If this is how they treat customers now I will shop at another store, my money is good every where read more

They have all the guns, ammo and parts you could be looking for. When is the last time you saw guns on sale, marked down on sale? This place has that. They sell new and used guns. They are also friendly and knowledgeable. The museum in the back is absolutely incredible. Some of the guns they have I had never seen in person. You should check this place out if you like guns. Larry's Pistol and Pawn is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a gun store. The last three times I've been in there the guys I dealt with behind the counter have been rude, condescending, and borderline unprofessional. Their guns are over priced and they rip you off if you pawn or trade something. The only reason I ever go into Larry's is if I want to put my hands on a gun I'm going to buy somewhere else. What a ripoff place in my opinion. Here's my take based on experience. Yes, they deal in large volumes, yes they have a wide selection but when you walk in and try to sell them a weapon they low ball you like none other. Then while standing there, while they had my .308 in the back "looking at it" I saw a .308 Remington 700 SPR on the wall. Larry's Madison was asking $1499 for rifle alone. I got on my cell phone and priced the exact same rifle at $999. Then, the guy comes back to me and offers me $600 for my Cobb MCR 200 in .308 in excellent condition. I looked at the guy and said, "I won't waste your time". This happened after I was offered $1600 for my Cobb at another shop but held off to see what others would offer. So Larry's Madison lowballs and gouges prices at the same time. They basically inflate their price to a point where if someone talks them down to a lower price, the buyer walks away thinking they got a great deal when in fact they still were gouged in price. Yet, their reputation is for low prices and great deals. I call it loss leaders and selling guns like stores sell jewelry and perfume; their markup must be spectacular yet the public still goes to them in droves. I paid $10 less for box of Remington SPX 12 gauge rounds at Guns Pawn & Ammo in Madison than I did at Larry's. When I saw the price differences between Larry's and other local Pawns - that ended my love affair with Larry's . They lost my business and I tell everyone I can about my experience. I will give them the fact that their Madison store has great selection - but prices still suck as compared to other local gun/pawn shops. read more

So I went in looking for a new conceal carry pistol after looking around and feeling some of them in my hand decided to get the ruger lc9s. Made my purchase went home started looking for a holster. Got the pistol out of the box noticed it says ec9s on it , thought maybe I got the wrong pistol googled the differences . Realized it is he cheap version of the pistol , emailed Larry's right away and stated that I had been sold the wrong pistol , Daniel says come in and exchange for the correct one and pay $12 difference I said ok.. so Friday I get off work early and head that way I get the correct pistol it looks but I'm in a rush to go pick up nephew to go duck hunting so I put pistol in truck and go.. when we get to the duck blind I take out the pistol notice it looks a little scuffed up.. pull back the pistol to see the chamber it's all tore up I had been had again given a very worn out used pistol emailed them back and this time crickets read more

Larry's (Madison Store) is like my home away from home. I love the place. I work about 5 minutes away so I'm a regular there. I have bought 2 guns for my wife and 5 for myself there in the past year or so. Prices are always great, and I have a interest in not so common guns which the guys there always search there best to find for me. Don't read this and think high dollar guns are the reason they help me. I have bought 150 dollar guns there with the same genuine service as when I buy guns 10x that price. read more
