My shoes needed the rubber on the heel replaced. I brought it in and the lady said they could be replaced. The cost was $12.50 each which seemed reasonable. I went to pick up and was told it would be $27.78. Ok again reasonable. When I went to pay with my credit card they wanted to assess a $3 fee. That was more than 10% of the cost. I shared that this was not reasonable. The owner argued with me. I did not want to argue, but he continued to insist his point. I relented, paid cash and left. Walking to my car I looked at the work. The rubber was not replaced. A shoe heel tap was nailed into the old rubber, which was worn the reason I brought them in. I went back in to share my dissatisfaction especially with the cost for the actual repair. He claimed he re-glued the old rubber heel which he did not since the corners were lifting as I spoke to him. Sorry I cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

(Sorry in advance for such a lengthy review!) I visited Larry's this afternoon and would recommend them 1000%! Had the best experience! I needed tips put on a pair of expensive high-heeled shoe boots (for a friend), but the gal I spoke with there (Chrissy), cautioned me about the worn-out soles that were beyond repair, and why they suggested I think twice about spending money for new tips. (I consulted w/ my friend; she appreciated the warning, but still wanted to get the new tips put on.) They could have easily made a sale without looking out for this customer's well-being first! ADDITIONALLY, the shoe repair gentleman provided me with immediate service, not to mention Chrissy walked the boots out to my car when they were done, just minutes later... and the heel tips looked great!!! You just don't get such friendly & personalized service these days, such as this-Larry's is a hidden gem...Nice to know there are still businesses that value their customers!! read more

Better for repairs. Boot prices are necessarily (small shop) higher, but most of these boots are made in China. That to me makes the business tough. Selling Chinese stuff at higher prices. Also, a small shop makes the selection small too. Repairs have been top notch, and I recommend them for that. read more

Dropped my shoes off for repair. Was given a ticket to pickup two weeks later. When I went in to pick them up, I was told my shoes were "lost" and they would have to try to find them and they would call me the next day. I did not receive a call so I called two days later. I was told they were found. When I went to pickup the shoes an additional week later, the work I was told would be done was not. I then asked if I would be reimbursed for the extra time and work not being done and the owner told me he would refund my money and then give my shoes to a homeless person because he did the labor for the little bit of work done on the shoes. He also told me he could "not help that the shoes got lost." He then put his hands up waving me out of the shop. Extremely unprofessional and rude. And a complete waste of money for a poor job. read more

My fiance and I dropped off a pair of shoes to be cleaned and for the toe cap to be glued back to the fabric. They told us it was $26 dollars and left. We came in today to pick them up and they very clearly had not been cleaned. When mentioned the girl behind the counter stated that she saw the lady clean them. There is literally no way that was possible. They returned the money for the cleaning but not before telling us not to come to back. I don't appreciate being lied too when clearly there is sand in the creases of the shoe. They are a pair of $220 dollar Jordan's that are well maintained. It's just bad business. read more

Has American made boots, but most people prefer the cheaper price of Chinese made. I have found their prices to be competitive with other shops, of course not the internet. But Larry's patience and service after the sale is second to none, I'll pay extra for that. Plus, he has proven to wiggle on his price. read more

Never ever take a hat to this shop for repairs. I took a high end hat to him to replace the head band, which he said he knew how to do and had done them professionally for over 40 years. The most unprofessional work I have ever seen. Really hurt the value of my hat. For anyone who knows hats and wants them done the professional way - don't take them here. read more
