As you will see each time we wanted to do more work, George wrote up a change order so we could agree on exactly what the costs would be. This is a local family-run business which as been in business for over 25 years. I can not recommend them highly enough. George by now feels like one of the family. He and his team are friendly, helpful, very careful craftsmen, and just great to work with. If you ask for something that doesn't make sense, George just flat out tells you. We started out just wanted a garden path and steps built. That turned out so well and they we so easy to work with that we started asking about other projects that we had always dreamed of. We ended up building two stone walls in our garden that will now allow us to plant where a steep ivy hillside had been before. We had a lot of hillside water seepage so the guys proposed and dug a drainage area and covered with beautify Mexican grey pebble. So now we have a rock river which looks really nice. And finally we had erosion problem on a very steep bank. George's team lined it with large rocks and it should now outlast our lifetimes.

I am so glad that my partner and I chose to work with George and Jan at GLI Norcal. A friend gave us George's business card a few months ago, and after our first meeting we were so excited to get moving on our project. The design was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. I've gotten lower bids in the past, but the paperwork that Jan put together for us was so detailed, we really felt like we knew what we were getting in to. Over the project we made a few changes, and George was always prompt with change orders, and explaining exactly what the differences would be. We are so happy with our new backyard! We keep choosing to stay home and enjoy our little piece of paradise instead of going out. Five stars for sure!

These people really need to get better at communication and customer service.

In 2023 I vowed to myself that I would have a functioning irrigation system by the end of the rainy season/start of summer. I reached out and started getting quotes - one of them was from Green Sunsets (Daniel). He was prompt when he came by for the quote and it was clear that he had extensive knowledge of planning and setting up irrigation systems. He ended up quoting me for a). a new system vs. b). going in and troubleshooting the existing system which I appreciated. His quote was reasonable and he was patient and thorough with me when I had a few followup questions - I ended up moving forward with Daniel to do the work. He was able to get me on his calendar pretty quickly and the whole job ended up taking about 3-4 days. Daniel had a team of workers to help him - his team was hard working and I appreciate that Daniel was also present for all of the days and directly checked the new system as it was installed to verify that everyting was set up correctly. In addition to the irrigation work, my yard was also very overgrown - Daniel and his team also did great work for me at the same time in removing a broken trellis, removing pesky vines, and pulling out a bunch of overgrown plants and bushes. Fast forward one year to spring 2024. After the rainy season ended (and irrigation system needed to be used) I noticed that there were a few breaks/leaks in the tubing/lines. I reached out to Daniel to ask about and he came by to my home. My initial thought was that either thirsty squirrels or our gardener had broken a few of the lines. Daniel assessed and came to the same conclusion, but since it was a fairly small task offered to help fix at no charge (even though the leaks were caused by our gardener). Daniel's work left me as a very happy customer and I am happy to recommend Green Sunsets.

I called Brad and he was able to see me right away. He and his assistant spent hours repairing and replacing sprayers all the while telling me it wasn't as bad as I thought. In the end he even reset my timer box so that all the stations would fire on the right days at the right time. He charged me $390.00 for the visit plus an additional $65.00 for parts. I thought it was worth every penny! Brad also taught me to water at 7:00 in the morning not at 3:00 or 4:00am because you want to be awake to see how they're working. It's a relief to sip my coffee and watch those sprayers :0) Give Brad a call

But he called and apologized and wanted to book another time, then even called again to double-check, so I thought I'd give him another shot. The appointment came and went, and he never showed up and never called. What a waste of time. EDIT: He says I didn't confirm the appointment, yet I have the texts proving otherwise. He texted me at 5:24 the day before to confirm. I responded at 5:32, 8 minutes later, confirming. Yet somehow it's my fault that he doesn't know how to use his phone? Save yourself the headaches and hire someone else.

Beall is the best!!! He is very passionate and knowlegeable about plants and trees and I loved his vision for our garden. I guess you can say he is more of a horticultural artist! WE LOVE to see our front yard whenever we get home....I'd say it is the best part of my day. Besides the installation of the garden he also offers ongoing maintenance at a very reasonable price. Beall stuck with the estimate he originally gave us and for all the work he and his team did we got ALOT more than we paid for!! I will recommend him to everyone we know and look forward to working with him on our massive backyard!!

This is an enthusiastic recommendation for Beall King of King's Gardens. My husband and I first…read morehired Beall a few years ago to replace our front lawn and sprinklers with a low maintenance garden and drip irrigation system. We selected Beall after meeting with a handful of landscape contractors because he was the most interested in understanding what we wanted (other contractors simply told us what they would do) and had the most transparent and fair pricing (Beall gave us a detailed estimate, whereas other contractors failed to provide any estimate or said they could provide an estimates only AFTER we paid for a design consultation). Beall really impressed us on that project. Even though my husband and I had a strong idea of what we wanted, we had a hard time explaining it because we did not know anything about plants or gardening. Beall was very patient and generous with his time. He met with us at a nursery early in the morning to pick plants so that my husband and I wouldn't have to take time off work. He also provided sketches of his proposed designs to make sure we were all on the same page (he is not just a landscape contractor but also a great designer). Beall's efforts paid off, and we were very happy with the finished product. In fact, we were so happy that we started budgeting to have Beall work on our back yard, which he did this year. During the consultations for the second project, Beall surprised us by pulling out notes he had taken when working on our first project. We saved a lot of time because Beall had written down what plants we did and did not like. The second project was very labor intensive because it included the removal of many stones and the installation of massive granite steps. Beall and his hardworking crew completed this work in amazingly fast time. To save money on hauling away the old dirt and stones that were excavated, we asked Beall to dump them on a hidden part of our property that is not landscaped. Most other contractors would have done this haphazardly, but not Beall. He and his crew spread and compacted the dirt to create a level surface and then used the stones to define a walkway, turning a literal dumping ground to useable space. His thoughtful approach added minimal time to the job but added a lot of value to our property. Of the nearly dozen contractors we have hired in the last several years, Beall has been our favorite to work with. He is very knowledgeable about his field, hardworking, and customer service oriented. We highly recommend him for any landscaping job.
