Requested an "updo" for a wedding in late 2024. I needed to know how they wanted me to arrive, i.e clean and straight, I day dirty and straight, clean and curly, etc. and as a fun little fact, ANY updo I have done in the past was always met with a very difficult head of hair that pushes out bobby-pins and because of the quantity of hair I have it rarely makes it through the night. Despite my efforts to contact the person prior, he was never responsive. When I arrived he was very nice and I showed him photos of what I was hoping for and gave the warnings I had been trying to share the MONTHS prior to the appointment. I took my hair down that was already clean, straight and in a messy bun. He ran his fingers through my hair and then it started! The comments about how much hair I have, how thick it is, how fine it is, the curl he could see in it despite my having straightened it. All I could do was think, I TRIED TO WARN YOU! Rather than lashing out and pointing to the fact I made numerous attempts to try and contact him before my appointment but never heard back, I did ask if he felt he could do a successful updo that would last the night! Very confidently he says "oh yes! I've been doing hair and updo's for over 20 years". Okay I thought and to try and help lighten the mood, I said "let's see what we can do with this beast". Now, if I can get a dime for every time he said "girl, guuuurlll, golly girl you weren't kidding, holy cow girl", or other similar comments, I would have made easy money that day! It takes just about an hour to finally tame the beast and get my hair up. We finish, I pay and head back to the house we rented. Before I even stepped in the house, my hair was already starting to come down! I had to have my sisters do their best with additional bobby-pins to at least make it to the family photos at 4pm. By the time the ceremony started, my hair was about 1/2 down and losing the fight against gravity. We finally just gave up and began pulling the 47 bobby-pins out of my hair. I would say I was pleased to have someone scheduled on a Saturday for an updo but the unresponsive nature and his hands and salon smelling of cigarette smoke, I would absolutely NOT recommend doing any updo from here if you have a head of hair like I do.

They told me they had two people available and that kids cuts were $18 a piece. I got my girls haircuts done and went to pay and she typed in $51. She waited till after to tell me that the shorter haircuts were $25 a piece, even though my youngest didn't get that much off. She wouldn't even do the style my daughter wanted because her hair was to tangled and she made me brush it out. Well, I went to brush her hair this morning and realized it was suuuuper uneven. I called the manager this morning and she told me to bring her back and she would fix it. Once we got there, she didn't put any cape or anything on my daughter and just started cutting her hair just standing there. She was very forceful in moving her head around and made me hold her head or she would shove it back in the place she wanted. Not a pleasant experience whatsoever.
