Las Chilmoleras is at an unassuming but busy street corner so if you're sitting outside it can get dusty from all the cars passing by. I recommend eating al fresco anyway though! It's a whole vibe.
During our recent visit, we tried 2 different tamales and a plantain tostada - the presentation of each dish was gorgeous and colorful; the ingredients were fresh; the taste was unique and delicious. The prices were extremely affordable too, from around $6-8 USD each dish. My understanding is that the menu changes seasonally.
If I ever find myself back in Oaxaca (here's to hoping!), I definitely want to stop by again for breakfast or lunch. read more
