However, if they would submit the bill to your insurance company for reimbursement, the insurance company does reasonable and customary allowable amounts, which is less than the amount you pay up front. Was told that they do not give discounts on cash payments due to they are "Dental Specialist". Hard to believe that insurance companies that they accept will reimburse them the full amount. He has done a lot of work on my teeth and I can at least smile again. He has a receptionist named Kim that is very helpful and always pleasant. He is probably the only dentist I would drive 200 miles round trip to see. My wife also is a patient of Dr Reiter's and she thinks he is the best dentist she has been to in her life. I would also like to mention docs assistant and wife. Cathy is a lot of fun and a great assistant. One more thing and I think this is very important. No Pain.. Never once have I had pain during any procedure. I cannot say this about any other doctor I have seen in dentistry. Not even the numbing injection. We really enjoy this business Ron Patterson

My initial interaction with Painted Skies involved a dental technician who, after politely being…read moreinformed of one of my patient concerns, told me I did not need to inform her that I had an issue with being leaned too far back in the chair. Further, in regard to that initial appointment, I had informed the office manager that I had another appointment scheduled elsewhere within a few minutes of the time my proposed initial appointment with Painted Dunes was estimated to have ended. I was assured by the office manager that this would not be an issue. However, upon leaving the dental chair, I spent a significant amount of time sitting in the lobby, waiting to check out. Ultimately, I had to politely ask the office manager to expedite my check-out since I was about to be late for my next appointment. I wrote a review on Yelp in regard to this first experience, but later deleted it after a week or so since I thought the issues would have been addressed, and I thought leaving the review might be counterproductive. However, removing the initial review appears to have been a mistake since, a few days ago, I had yet another issue with one of the same staff members. This time, I called to reschedule a December appointment with Painted Skies since I alternate between a periodontist and the general dentist. The Painted Skies office manager then proceeded to imply that I was lying by saying, " If that's true (that you see a periodontist), we can go ahead and cancel this appointment and schedule you for March." I honestly was so taken aback by this comment that I had to think about my response. The only thing I can figure is that since I had withdrawn my last review, she took the opportunity to infer that I had lied about my past experiences with the Painted Skies staff (including herself)?and, therefore, I could be accused of lying about seeing a periodontist. I came to Painted Skies because I considered the practice to be similar in many respects to that of Dr. Bridget Burris who retired several years ago and who was my dentist for many years. These incidents With the Ortiz's staff are all very unfortunate because my interactions with the dentist herself were positive and she exhibited a high degree of professionalism not to mention her exemplary skills as a dentist. This type of disrespect by her staff, though was absolutely uncalled for, and I exhibited no such behavior towards any staff member at Painted Skies which would warrant this kind of treatment. Unfortunately, I will be changing dentists because I would only expect an inhospitable reception were I to continue as a customer with this practice.

But I finally got up the courage and called to make an appointment. Mesilla Valley Family Dentistry is a New business; Dr Borham bought out the old Mesilla Valley Dentistry which is where Dr Marianne Day had practiced. So, the location is the same and the names are similar but it is a new business with a new dentist. Dr Borham is the best. He has an excellent friendly and professional demeanor that makes you feel really comfortable and confident in his abilities. I'm nervous about everything but he took all my antics in stride with absolutely no judgement and no pressure. The office is super clean and seems to have all the most modem equipment available. Besides being a totally modern professional facility, it is also uniquely homey since t is in an old Victorian style house. The waiting lounge is comfortable with interesting reading material and complimentary coffee and other beverages. But, you don't get to enjoy the waiting lounge for long because they are completely on time! I've never had o wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. Lastly, Dr Borham's staff is amazing and so friendly. They are all very professional and friendly. They let you know up front exactly what dental work needs to be done and exactly what the cost will be. There are no hard sells on needless procedures like you get at many other dentists in town. Simply put, Mesilla Valley Family Dentistry is awesome. If you need a great dentist this is the place for you!

I'll never go back. Unfortunately, I have had several teeth pulled here and in Oklahoma. This is the worst experience I have ever had.
