Gringos will find the ambiance about as good as it gets in Nuevo León. It is outdoor dining with a roof and in winter the plastic curtains keep the weather out. And the ambiance extends out into the entire central plaza with its charming colonial atmosphere. The food and service do not disappoint either. The menu is extensive and traditional and the drinks are great too. Until now I've never included this in a restaurant review, but this small village and this restaurant should be on every tourist itinerary in the Monterrey region. read more

A beautiful restaurant located in a suburb of Monterrey, San Sebastián, known as a "Magic Town" as the government subsidizes the residents to paint their buildings frequently with bright colors to keep the place looking nice. The restaurant itself is a medium sized hacienda style hotel built in the 16th century. The food was exceptional -we started with a molcajete de ribeye which was chunks of fried ribeye served with the famous salsa of the region made with fresh chile pequin, which looks like a caper but is as spicy as chile de arbol. That was very tasty, then tried tacos de picadillo which was seasoned ground beef rolled into possibly the best thin flour tortillas I've ever had. Also sampled a chile relleno stuffed with cabrito (baby goat), fantastic! Then came a plate of their signature roast pork which was highly seasoned with an red adobo, melt in your mouth tender, very flavorful. Very much worth the drive from Monterrey to experience what has to be one of the best restaurants in the region. Service was impeccable, the experience was 5 stars. read more

Beautiful ambiance! Loved all of the traditional Mexican flare. Service was wonderful, and food came out perfectly on time. This restaurant doubles as a hotel so the decor was super aesthetically pleasing and made everything feel so colorful and lively yet cozy. The food was excellent, super flavorful and at a very decent price. You are served homemade tortilla chips and a couple of super tasty salsas. The desserts were truly the cherry on top. Restaurante Las Palomas de Santiago is part of Las Palomas de Santiago Hotel. This is a great restaurant in the center of Santiago that is perfect for trying some yummy Mexican food. The restaurant is really cute with fun colors and nice designs. We got the Plato Mexicano which came with lots of good foods to try and get an overall idea about Mexican food. We also got the goat tacos which were good but I'm not a huge fan of goat. There were also some musicians playing in the restaurant which made a nice vibe. Seemed like a hot spot for those getting out of San Pedro for the day! read more

Was there today and the place felt dirty. Flies flying around, dirty silverware and a fly in my salsa. Glasses didn't look clean either. Poor and slow service and waiters arguing around the place. Do not recommend at all. Puchero de res was good. read more
