I recently saw this arch for the first time when I was staying at the nearby STRAT hotel. Las Vegas is known for its popular "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas" sign that is on the south side of the strip. This 80 foot illuminated arch is located on the north side and forms a gateway to downtown Las Vegas. It was built to give pedestrians a safer place to take pictures and view the arch at any time of the day. It opened in 2020. The Las Vegas Gateway Arch changes colors and has a sign that says "The City of Las Vegas Thanks You" on one side. The Arch is located on Las Vegas Boulevard between St. Louis and Bob Stupak avenues at the base of The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod. I think it is a beautiful addition to Las Vegas and worth checking out.

This is a really great photo opportunity in Las Vegas (one of the few free things that are left). I was staying at the Sahara and it is only a block away, across from the STRAT. It's beautiful at night and there is a little photo spot for you to stop and take some selfies. It's relatively safe, but keep an eye open when you are down there at night. You should be fine.

These fabulous, color changing Gateway Arches were first lit up November 18th, 2020. This is a great addition to things you can only see In Vegas. It's located right by the Strat. Northbound pics are taken from the sidewalk because you would have to jaywalk to the median to get a center shot. Southbound photos are easier to get but still a lot of city objects that get in the way. I would recommend night viewing and not going too far north of the sign because it gets a little sketchy. It's a beautiful addition to the city of lights and definitely worth an in person visit.

The $6.5 million dollar City of Las Vegas Gateway Arch is up! It's an 80-foot structure which was constructed in front of the Stratosphere, and officially marks where the city limits officially start on Las Vegas Boulevard. The landmark lies between St. Louis Blvd (how fitting) and Bob Stupak Ave. The blue-colored, crisscrossed arches are a nice addition to this side of the Strip. On one side it says, "The City of Las Vegas," and the other, "The City of Las Vegas Thanks You." At night, I've heard the arches are fully lit. I'll have to come back to see that! Once all of the construction is out of the way, I'm sure the area will look just as fabulous and glamorous as all the other big, bright lights on LV Blvd. Have fun in Vegas and win big!!

This is really them Downtown Las Vegas Gateway. It went live last night (11/18/20). I watched as it was being constructed and it's a nice addition to the area. The two western most struts straddle the Strat's valet parking. The gateway arch has 13,000 LED lights that change color. The arches are twin interlocking steel and the height is 80 feet. Each leg of the arch is 140 feet and the City of Las Vegas emblem is 20 x 40 feet and weight 7,300 pounds. I'm glad to see this new addition to the downtown area. Remember, when you're staying at a Strip hotel, you're not in Las Vegas--you're in Clark County. Sahara Avenue generally marks the border between the city and county as the Strip goes south.

Love they put a new monument style right by the entrance to the strip. It's still more towards downtown. I joke if you drive towards downtown it's a warning you are leaving the magical strip and going to the dark side. Close by is a photo op with also a new structure : dice , "Las Vegas" and large show girls as a photo op.

The house is privately owned and it's where many of the things from the Liberace Museum now reside. The tour I took was lead by Jonathan Warren, an expert on the life of Liberace. He's also is an expert in describing the Liberace items in the mansion. The tour lasted three hours and was very informative. The whole hacienda is not covered but the section closest to Palomino Lane is where the Liberace memorabilia is located. Reservations must be made for the tour. I was the only person yesterday because some that were scheduled needed to change their tour date. It was a fantastic tour. I had been to the Liberace Museum before it closed, but I never would know what I do now because of Mr. Warren's encyclopedic memory!

We booked our tickets ahead online because it appeared that in the past they would sell out, but we could have easily purchased them at the door. The museum houses old working and non-working neon signs from Las Vegas past. There's everything from old cleaners signs to old casinos like the Stardust. I highly recommend that you visit at night so that you can see a lot of the boneyard lit up. They offer guided tours but we opted out. There's plenty of signage throughout the museum to give context and history to what you're looking at, although the guided tour would have been cool. We spent about an hour walking amongst the signs and I didn't want it to be over! They have a separate fenced off section with signs that will never light up, but I wish that we could have explored that section as well, since many of the signs that they had on display in the main area also didn't light up. It was so cool to see this piece of Las Vegas history.

It was really cool to see and learn about Vegas's history, and it was fun checking out this spot! Night time 8pm-Midnight is where its at here, doesn't seem like it would be as cool to see during the day. Tickets are overpriced though - you can get a similar experience walking through Downtown Las Vegas/Fremont Street. I fortunately was able to get a $5 discount per ticket for both mine and my friend's ticket (I paid for both of us) with my USC student ID as a graduate student, but the girl selling the tickets got confused when she thought that meant I graduated already - I had to clarify that no, that means I finished my undergraduated (bachelors degree) and am working on my Masters degree.
