This is a great locals spot, in a somewhat hidden place above the Hotel Arco. Menu consists of burgers, burritos, ribs, some Yucatecan classics, and lots of other choices. Food is very reasonably priced - Four of us came here for drinks and dinner. About a dozen drinks and 4 main course orders came to $1200 pesos (~$60 USD). Service was great too! I have no words. We decided to give this place a go and boy was this a mistake! The service was slow (despite it not being busy) the drinks we ordered were nothing more then frozen sour mix, and the nachos... they were so soggy the collapsed under the weight of the liquid cheese and soupy black beans. We were here for breakfast only. Can't comment on the night club part. Ok breakfast. I was kinda worried looking at the place what kind of food we would get. Orders a ham and cheese omelet and chilaquiles. Food came out in a reasonable time, it was just ok. Kinda like Dennys. chilaquiles were kinda weird and dry. Omlet was good. Food pretty inexpensive. Great bar atmosphere, and the food came out quick. Tried the burrito the first time I went and it was very filling and had a decent amount of flavor. Had a slight issue with my drink coming out late. Restaurant seems understaffed with how busy it is but overall 4/5. read more

Good food, great prices. It is in the entrance of a hotel but they have their own separate entrance (just go up the stairs to the left). The only minor negative I would say is I am from California and their burritos are really what I would call a wrap. Burritos need to have rice or beans and never have mayonnaise. That said, it was still big and tasted great. Place had a great vine. Would definitely recommend to anyone. read more

Inexpensive and well-prepared with good service. I might mention that, contrary to several of the reviews here however, it isn't Yucatecan cuisine, but, rather, Tex-Mex. It isn't particularly on the tourists' radar and is mostly local Méridans after work or with their families. read more

When ordering by Uber Eats Las Vegas routinely leaves out part of the order, sends the wrong meal or just doesn't send one of the meals. Las Vegas used to be very good but since Covid the service has declined. read more

What a great gem we found (by word of mouth). I had wandered into Bar El Gallito and talked to the bartender who worked there (it's the best way to find out which places to try---really!). And, as promised, it's truly a locals joint. I don't want to say that it's not very common to see the typical tourist consumer here (since we were dining here after all), but a LOT of locals come here to drink or eat or both. We came to do the latter. First time around, I ordered the shrimp fajitas. Don't expect jumbo sized shrimp or even medium sized shrimp like they do in the states. Nope! Here it's a the salad size shrimp (itty bitty baby shrimps) but to its advantage, the fajitas worked out divinely. In fact, I loved it so much I came here the second time to eat it. Third time was the charm. I ordered the veggie burrito and it came with a side of salad, guacamole, and a side of rice. YUM! They serve this stuff up in HUGE portions---I'm talking about enough for 2 to share a burrito (it's that huge!). The exterior was a bit crisp and the inside was succulent and hearty---full of flavor even with only veggies! I'm a pescetarian sooooooo I may be a tad bit biased, but the veggie burrito really was divine. Each bite was full of savory flavor. Happy hour runs from 5-7pm. Margaritas are $20 a piece and cervesas run about $18. This place is bomb. I swore I would not repeat restaurants as I have a limited amount of time left in Merida but alas! I can't help myself. Their hours are noon to eight every day, including Sunday. A local restaurant owner from the US recommended them to me three years ago, and I enjoy the food every year while I'm in Merida. I''m glad for the chance to pass along the recommendation. You can satisfy your cravings for pok chuc, burritos, wings, burgers, fries, pasta, fish, nachos, and more. I'm fond of the pasta with camarones (shrimp) and pescado a la plancha. The staff here is terrific, and I look forward to more good times at Las Vigas when the dining room reopens. Las Vigas is a fabulous everyday restaurant, staff is well trained, it is a hangout for locals and foreigners alike, cold beer, good food, nothing fancy, but well maintained, and fun. Lots of bucket o beer and botana specials. Great breakfast specials, heck just an all around great fun place to go. read more

We found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to check it out. Very hidden, but great once you get there. Enjoyable music, awesome food, but we did have to wait quite a while for our food as we did arrive during a busy time. Stayed a bit longer than anticipated but enjoyed it nonetheless. read more

I'm a foodie. When I am at home, I cook from scratch nearly everyday. This is not the restaurant if you are looking for an 'experience' here in Merida. Go to Kuuk for that. This is a local sports bar, with the occasional tourist. Most people order buckets of beer however our family of 6 always ordered food. We came here 6 times during our 4 weeks in Merida. Out of the 36 meals that were served to us, the only one that was inedible was the lime soup- it was bitter, however they did not charge us for it. All of the other meals were very good. Why the 5 stars? There is a great variety of food and most is NOT Yucatecan, which we got tired of. The portions are for a good appetite but what seals the deal is that the meals cost just around $3. So, for a family of 6, that is a huge selling point! Good burgers, great BBQ ribs, good chicken alfredo, Hawaiian chicken, Parmesan chicken, pancakes for breakfast, burritos etc. When I am back in the states will I try to recreate some of the menu items? Ummmm...no, but We will look fondly back at Las Vigas as our go-to restaurant which satisfies everyone for a great price. The wait staff is great and they work hard. Tip them well if you go. My husband and I went to La Recova in Santa Lucia park last night($60). It was awful. We said we should have went to Las Vigas because at least we would have had decent food. read more

Right near the city center. It's a bit hard to find, but this place was worth it. I agreed with the other reviews, the place was really chill, had lots of locals and had great food. Las Vigas is a FIND. And living proof that good food trumps every other thing a restaurant can offer. Ambiance is not their thing but the food is top notch local fare and the least expensive ( and that's saying a lot for affordable Merida) i found while here over three months. Don't let that comment about the decor throw you.... Several of my foodie friends think it's the BEST place around for real local food. Not touristy just tasty. Treat yourself to the Bbq ribs or the beef burrito (both styles). You can't go wrong! BTW- Finding Las Vigas the first time was tricky. Nice upstairs locals bar, with TV, and very cheap, but good food. Not for gsstropub types, more for sports bar w burgers type (but Yucatan style). You'll either love it, or wonder what the fuss is about. read more

Went twice during our 4-day stay - that's how much we liked it. This is a LOCAL bar and restaurant. It was packed on both the Sunday and Wednesday nights that we ate there. Sports on the plentiful TVs, beer by the bucket, great prices, great food... They made me a special vegetarian burrito that was worth returning for.
