I went to another salon this week and the stylist I saw could not do my hair in the way I wished due to the damage to my hair. My hair has broken in chunks and even brushing my hair it breaks in pieces. I had a treatment to restore health and was not able to even strip my colour now with a conditioning colour eraser due to a high risk of all of my hair breaking off. The stylist at divas even said to me and other clients at the time that she was taking short cuts on our hair to fit us all in in one day. She consistently used bleach to remove colour instead of a colour eraser and this caused my hair to not only become very damaged, but to be inconsistent in colour after all fading in one week. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of knowledge in this salon. Hair seems to be done with money in mind and not hair health. Do not go here if you value the health of your hair. The owner called me after posting a review and argued with me that my review wasn't valid as I waited "too long" after having my hair done to have a bad review. He talked over me and belittled me, to the point I had to get off the phone as I was feeling bullied. Do not go here.

I called them to make an appointment to have them fixed and not only did they tell me to come in right away, but they fixed it free of charge. Also the only place that could do acrylics on my aggressively chewed nails without hurting me or making my fingers bleed further. Constant care and check in's to make sure my nails are always the way I want (even when I request very short nails) and just the right amount of atmospheric buzz that you can really relax. They did my wedding nails and the nails I wanted for post wedding, and have repeatedly helped me to grow my nails out with the protection of the acrylics or gels. I definitely recommend them over any of the nail places I've been to in malls. Vanese nail salon is clean, smells nice and never makes me feel judged for what I like.

It was nice that there is a Starbucks across the road so we could grab Starbucks before our pedicures. We were greeted at the front and 2 lovely ladies lead us back to the pedicure area. It is a small nail area, only 2 pedicure chairs but very quiet and private. I had the owner work on my feet and she was very informative and sweet. The other lady working on my friend does some AMAZING Japanese Nail art and we got a chance to look through her samples. Once I remove my artificial nails I will try her out for some great, unique shellac nails. Our pedicure was a standard pedicure, very clean. It costs $55. Most of the salons in central alberta are more on the pricier side (coming from Toronto you get used to the same pedicures but for $25) I want to try their facials there, will definitely return.

But what won me over was the lengthy wonderful massage. I even asked if this was a common practice or if she was possibly done earlier then expected and had extra time to fill and she said no this is how all pedicures are done that they all allot that much time for the massage!
