Staff are friendly. Place looks nice. You get free cookies and coffee while you wait.. However as one user pointed out, it is incredible how you cannot see a surgeon/doctor before your procedure. I will never know how they get away with it. Lasik MD has technicians look at your eyes and then send you for your procedure. They have no medical training. I had Lasik done in Aug 2017 and had suffered everyday from it. Yes I have great vision but constant dry eyes and burning pain. This procedure is very very risky in my opinion. I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I was somewhat nervous but very excited at the prospect of getting LASIK. I went on the website and as I was able to book directly there, I went for it! The website was very easy to navigate and all the documents needed to answer any questions were accessible. On the day of my FREE consultation to see if I was a candidate, I was met with a smile! The staff answered all my questions and I couldn't wait to go back once I found out I was able to get LASIK done! On the day of my surgery, I was a little nervous, but having spoken to a friend who told me the step by step process, I knew what to expect. The doctor was very to the point and very reassuring in his calm and direct manner. Some may find that a little cold, but I think it portrayed excellent professionalism. I don't need a friend, I want a person who is there to do his or her job and focus on that. He walked me through what he was doing and before I knew it, the surgery was done. After, the rest of the staff were so great, very calm and pleasant. The ride home was difficult as it was a bright sunny day, but every day since, I say "It's worth it!" It's only been 3 weeks, and I have some dryness and some aches if I have too much screen time, but it's healing well and I have no regrets. If you have the time to go in for the consultation, DO IT! I went for my consult after reading all information on their website about near sightedness with age. They made it appear as if there was a procedure they could do for this. The staff was courteous and the waiting area very nice, however, I waited one hour to see someone for what they said would take an hour and a half for testing. After the first two minutes of testing, the technician came back to tell me that they were unable to improve the vision of a person with a very small prescription, needing reading glasses. I explained that this had been a waste of my time and asked why they gave the impression on their site that something could be done. She replied that their hopes were that there is always a chance and that the client would learn more about the eye and the procedure. Ask first if you mainly require reading glasses, it will take up half of your day. read more

Very pleased. Was so nervous, I really wanted to get Lasik and kept putting it off. Went in for evaluation they were very professional and upfront. Discussed my concerns and was given all scenarios. Booked my surgery for June 1, 2017. was such a great experience. Very pleased, everyone was so professional and understanding. The notifications by email are great and all follow up has been superb. My sight is fantastic and better than when I wore contacts. Wish I hadn't waited so long. read more

It blows my mind that you can not talk to a surgeon before your appointment. You would never have your wisdom teeth taken out without first talking to an oral surgeon, what makes eye surgery so special? The reason is money. Lasik Md can pump 30 people through in one day and if they dont have to have surgery consults, the more money they save from paying a surgeon. The staff is knowledgeable on selling but knows very little about actual biology and the human body. You can see the other reviewer's description for how pushy they are about selling. Two people sit you down in a room and do their best to take your money. But I am more concerned with the lack of attention from the surgeon. My surgeon flew in that morning, and came in around 9am. I had asked numerous times to meet with a surgeon and they kept putting it off. Somehow, they messed up two separate appointments for surgery. After the second, I called a week out to double check that I was scheduled. Anyways, I was also suppose to see a surgeon, which never happened, and the best they could do was have me sit in the operating room while he set up. This was my consult? There are three people in the room putting equipment together, and we are suppose to talk about my concerns? I left more nervous then when I had gone in. All in all, my eyes are fine, but if you are looking for someone to actually care about you and not your wallet, find someone else. They fly their surgeons in the morning of and you only get 10 minutes with a surgeon - the time it takes to fix your eyes. read more

I had LASIK eye surgery last week at LASIK MD Halifax and I can't get over how easy and straightforward the procedure was. I'm an employee at the company and wish I had done it sooner! Right from the beginning of my visit I was greeted with a warm welcome and things kept getting better - the staff are AMAZING at the Halifax clinic! They really go above and beyond with patient care to make sure you feel confident in what to expect during surgery and post-operatively. My surgeon was Dr Roy and I can't say enough good things about her. She is calm and caring, and takes time to explain the surgery before and during the surgery. I had complete confidence in her going into the procedure. The surgery itself was so easy and not painful at all. My favourite part was that the clinic has very nice resting area with lounge chairs for after surgery - I almost fell asleep! Would highly recommend LASIK MD to anyone, I'm so happy with my vision already! read more

From the moment I walked into Lasik MD, I felt welcomed and was greeted with a smile.  The staff was incredibly enthusiastic and supportive for my surgery.  I was reassured through their information sheets that following their instructions and drop schedules, I would be able to achieve tremendous success for my recovery.  Every patient was treated with the same care, and staff members were genuinely happy to assist with my needs.  Their explanations of what to expect were spot on, even from the pre-op exam day.  I could not have asked for a better surgical experience with Dr. Boudreault, Kathleen and Sean.  Their bedside manner was flawless.  Surgery can be strange because you don't normally get to experience those sensations any other day, but their attention to detail left a huge impression on me; they are truly gifted there.  Dr. Boudreault personalized my visit by introducing himself to me, he described the sensations and the details of the procedure, and played great music in the background.  My 24-hour follow-up confirmed that making the choice to get rid of glasses and contact lenses were not only out of convenience, but it has changed my life.  I don't have to reach for glasses out of bed anymore (or lose them), I can buy any pair of sunglasses now, and my glasses no longer fog-up when transitioning between indoor and outdoor temperatures or even opening the oven door.  I know those examples sound like minor activities, but it's the little things that make the big picture clearer. read more

The free consultation was longer than I expected; however, wasn't too bad. The waiting area is comfortable and staff are friendly. I was nervous on the surgery day; however, the staff and surgeon made me feel very comfortable. I wasn't "sold" on the most expensive procedure. I had my consultation at LASIK and even though I wasn't a candidate for the surgery, I was blown away by the customer service I received. Everyone was friendly and very informative, I had a lot of questions especially because I was a bit surprised I wasn't able to have the surgery. It was explained to me why it wasn't in my best interest, at this time, and the team even took extra steps to make sure I didn't have any questions through out the whole process. I was impressed because it felt like they truly cared, and that I wasn't just another person through the door.
