At the center, a nice sized pond and an open area for play. As parks go, I enjoyed my walk this afternoon here despite the wind and rain. Keep to the side of the trail and try to keep your eye out for bicycles as there is definite debate as to who has the right of way (Hint: it's the pedestrians but when your handlebar hits someone and you dump into the road, it's too late.) Playgrounds, picnic tables under a huge picnic pavilion, a basketball court and a disk golf course round out the other goings on here. Oh, and a dog park. This campground is a frequent stopping point for us when we are traveling cross country. It has a…read morenice shower house, level concrete pads, 20 30 and 50 amp service, water hook-up, as well as a picnic table, grill, and fire ring at each site. Sites with sewer hook-up are also available. We stay at the Turkey Flat Camground which is outside of the main park entrance, down the road to the right. It's a peaceful, beautiful area with lots of trees, grass, and birds. Other than that, there is not much going on here which is just the way I like it. Boat ramps are in the close-by main park area if you are into water sports. If you pull in after hours just park in any non-reserved spot and the camp host will come by to collect your fee ($22 w/o sewer) before dusk or the next day. Also, he has firewood available for purchase.

There are really two parts to this park. It's a COE, Corp of Engineer, park and we've been to many…read moreof those. Some are gated and some are not. This one is not. It sits at the base of the dam and has a campground section and a day use section. This review is mainly for the campground section. It's a pretty park but when we first arrived we weren't sure what to make of it. Grass looked like it hadn't been mowed in quite a while but it was mowed while we were there which really improved the appearance. The inner circle of campsites all have full hookups and the outer circle has water and electricity. We were pretty surprised to see so many who "live" within the system. One camper told us folks go between this park and another park every 14 days. A school bus even comes to take the kids who "live" here to school. Our first night we were on the outside loop and next to one group who played the bass music. Ugh. Where was the host? We had no clue. Yes, there is a camp host or volunteer. In the 5 days we were there we saw him once. A couple of times we went looking for him and never could find him. His site needs to be cleaned up. Stuff is stacked all over. We've never seen that in a COE park either. It was a good place to stay though while weather passed over and would stay again. The park area is nice but think a little more oversight is needed and a little clean-up. I would probably rate the park itself a 4 star but the clutter from the host site and lack of his availability, I moved it down a notch.

We stopped at the park office and bought some cold sodas and candy. The prices were reasonable and the park ranger was helpful. The scenery is great and the park history is interesting dating back to FDR's New Deal of the 1930's. Tip: be prepared (drinks, snacks, towels, fishing poles, bait, and whatever else you need for your little adventure- a first aid kit is not a bad idea either). I wish I had spent more time here exploring, so stop at the park office first for interesting maps and literature.

We were afraid that it would be too crowded, but there were still several spots with sufficient privacy. There are scores of campgrounds (some of them right on the waterfront), lots of RV hook-ups, a playground for kids, and boating and swimming access to the lake. Although hiking is somewhat limited (there are just a few miles of trails), the scenery is beautiful, and the sunset on the water was idyllic. Very convenient as a getaway if you live in the Tulsa area; I'm sure we'll camp here again!

Our spot would always be at pine grove and would go fishing in their crappie pond and were thrilled when they added the new sand beach. Now in 2025, they have made our spot (Pine Grove) where me and many other families have always taken our spring break, fall break and other week vacations at and "annual only site" and closed it off. We thought okay that sucks but we can try out the others sites. We decided to try out Beaver Cove and that has been a MAJOR disappointment. The sites look like they have not been tidied up in who knows how long and their bathrooms are unclean and do not have any soap ever! No decent swimming/fishing areas around it. And ticks everywhere! You would figure if they decided to close off pine grove they would fix up the non-annual spots but no! Seems to be more about the money considering there are more annual spots than non-annual and they are better taken care of. After 11 years of camping here we have decided to look elsewhere to camp. So so so disappointed!!!!

Adventure abounds 2.5 miles east of I-35 on 15th street in Edmond. Here, the street ends and…read moreArcadia Lake begins. This 194 acre spot is one of the best kept secrets in the OKC metro area. A trip to Lake Arcadia can be a modest affair, staying in the car driving through the park around sunset, maybe walking out on the dock watching the sun fade away for the day, or it can be an all day adventure with boating and picnics and barbecues. Early on in 2020 we realized we needed to renew our park pass for Lake Arcadia as we could see this may be a loooong year (boy, we were right on the money). Eighty dollars will get a vehicle in the park for a year if you are an OKC resident. Edmond residents can buy a year park pass for a 20% discount per year (about $64 dollars). This gets you unlimited entry into the park. I'd highly recommend it. I've always said one of my most favorite parts of living in Oklahoma has been the celebration in the sky at the end of daylight ringing in that night is upon us. I'm not from Oklahoma and I will say that the sunsets here are second to none. This park, especially the dock facing west next to the boat ramp is one of my most favorite places to watch the relay of the daylight sun passing into the Southern Hemisphere. Just as dusk settles in wildlife really begin to peek out from the woods. If you have kiddos and can manage to work in a drive through Arcadia at dusk, they'd love to see all the deer (definitely deer), and maybe turkeys, cranes, eagles, scissor-tailed flycatchers, and hawks that come around when most of the all-day lake goers have left for the day. Treat yourself to a sunset here and learn why it's worth every bit of $80 to get to come here as often as you want. October 2020

This particular part of the lake Arcadia park system is to the south west of the lake. Today, my infant son and I enjoyed the relatively new spring creek trail. This trail was so nice! It is a multi-use completely paved trail. It is wide enough for walkers to have their own designated lane as well as cyclists their own. Out and back this trail is a good easy 5 miles. It is amongst the trees with glimpses of the creek every. Ow and then. If you want to be a bit more adventurous, get off the beaten path. Yes, go explore those unpaved wild looking hiking trails that branch off from the path most taken. Although this trail is all I enjoyed today, there are many nice shaded picnic tables and grills that could make a great location for a get together. There is also a disc golf course here, although I'm not sure how often it is used. There were several people fishing in this area too. There are lots of ways this park can help you enjoy nature. There are 10 pull-through RV slabs with FULL hookups, each are long enough to line up two RVs and tow vehicles. Most of the slabs are level, but a couple have settled a little either forward or backward. The is one picnic table and rain shelter at the front of the RV parking area, next to the pay box and pricing sign. Nice view of the lake and a wide open sunset. Lots of room to run. I hope they plant more trees here. It looks so plain with out them.
