We have had Last Minute CPR do our training since 2002. Carl comes to our office and trains our office of 6-8 staff members. The hands on training we get is the best. He is entertaining, knowledgeable, and relevant. Since we are required to have training every 2 years, this is the 5th time.we have used Last Minute CPR. The training takes about 3 hours and involves a video, live demonstrations, hands on training on individual manikens, a multiple choice test, and skills test on CPR and use of the AED. If you really want to learn how to do CPR you have to get trained by Carl. You leave with confidence that if you ever need to perform CPR, you can do it!! Save a life!! read more

If you're strapped for time then this is a good place to get your BLS certification as they have a lot of slots you can fill. The thing is, you may want to avoid taking the night class since the area is a little sketchy after hours. BLS training is like a colonoscopy. It's required and lasts much longer than it really should. There is no place where you will actually have fun getting certified. But keep in mind that at this place it's not the most optimal professional atmosphere to learn in. It's a very small space, you can hear everyone's bodily fluids (or solids) leaving the mother ship since the bathroom is right there and there are frequent interruptions by phone calls and visitors, so the class is not fluid. That just serves to prolong the pain. For quick availability but not the best learning conditions, this place gets 2 stars. read more

I spoke with this guy today. I called him hoping I could get a BLS which is required for my new job. He called me back, unfortunately he's using a different phone number and I thought it was a different company who called me back. He got mad when when I mentioned the other company's name. I said "im sorry I thought it's was .... I was on yelp and had been looking where I can do myBLS". Then said "well you said (mentioning the other company).... that's what you said and that's what I heard". I said I'm sorry and anyway I need your help if I can do BLS today. He said he doesn't do ACLS but can do BLS as long as I got to AHA.org website to do the online. He gave me the website, the server was slow. I told him "I'm sorry the page is not opening maybe a problem on the server. Then he's asking me in a very rude way based on the tone of his voice"what computer are you using?" "Are you using wifi?" I said I'm using MacBook Air and using wifi. I can open the other website but not the AHA. Then he said "why can't you open the AHA, its the website that I give all the time, there should be no problem opening it". To the owner, if you're not having a good day Please don't take calls. You're ruining your business. And please be nice to customers. I'm willing to pay you, so be patient. I'm not recommending you to anyone. read more

Carl is a lifesaver! His office is tucked away in Kalihi across from the Kalihi Palama Health Center. Metered parking is available, but I parked on a side street to save money. Took my BLS class with Carl today. Carl is an experience instructor with many years of experience as an EMT. Carl is very clear with instruction and the expectations of the course. He made learning fun!!! . He responded within 24 hours. He is flexible and I was able to able book the class right away. The cost is reasonable considering at the end of the course you get a pocket mask and other goodies. He also laminates the CPR card and makes copies for you so you can give the copy to your employer right away. Location is convenient, easy to find and it's near to a lot good restaurants. I have taken BLS for over 25 years. this was the best class I have ever taken. He saved my A__ as my hospital was going to suspend me the day I realized my CPR was expired. The instructor met me at midnight after his Medic Shift and did the course, I couldn't believe it. He went way over and above anything I expected. It was fun even though I was totally sleep deprived. Sorry it took me so long to post this I had trouble logging in. I will take more classes with him. I actually learned CPR inside and out not like the hospital where you rush to a hard dummy and pound on it for 45 minutes then take an online crash course. This guy Rocks!! read more

Super friendly and helpful experiences with Carl (a local Hawaiian instructor)! I had checked out many places and friends, this place is cheaper and more effective compare to the other place. I got mine both first aid and health care provider cpr certificates right after the class. And the other thing I like about this place is flexible class time and one to one course. You can schedule a time with the instructor that convenient to you. Early morning, late afternoon or even midnight!! You can find nowhere teaching the course at those time~ And I found out that the store sells both scrub and pants for $25 only... Holy crap... I bought mine my scrub and pants for $48 in uniform Hawaii... There are many color selections and as well as Disney cartoon scrubs! Come and check it out! Unfortunately, the store is not open everyday, so you better call and check with Carl before you come. I will definitely come back for my certificates renewal after 2 years! read more

8/14/16 I was in desperate need to take a CPR course prior to clinicals for my CNA class. I had 1 day to find a CPR course after finding out I wasn't able to make the course my CNA school provided. I searched around for CPR courses on the Internet, and found information on this class. I gave Carl (the instructor) a call. His automated voice message system will ask you to punch in your phone number. As soon as you do that, it'll page him and he'll give you a call back. Carl gave me a call back about 2 hours after I paged him. I was skeptical at first, but he will reassure you and tell you everything you need to know about anything. He's also a very easy person to talk to. Carl will do whatever he can to work with your schedule. Sunday was the only day I was able to take the course, and Carl was willing to move whatever he had to do that day to accommodate me. His office is in a yellow building located in Kalihi across the road from Palama Supermarket and next to Ferguson Showroom. I was able to find street parking (free on Sundays). Prior to the in-person class, I had to take an online course that took around 2 hours to complete. It was my first time taking a CPR course, so the total time it took to complete the in-person class was around 3 and a half hours. Carl was patient and made sure I performed every procedure right. The online course was 25 dollars and the in person class was 63 dollars. The price was worth every single penny considering the fact that Carl moved whatever he had to do to take me during the only time I was able to go in. I was able to obtain a CPR card when I needed it. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to go to clinicals. He also gave free stuff that'll be useful in the future!! I took this BLS class back in 2012. On April 2014 my BLS card expired. I needed to renew my card so I came back. There is a new system now where you can take the BLS test online and once you complete that, print your certificate then go to his class for skills testing. The skills testing shouldn't be more than 3 hours. I recommend going to Last Minute CPR and First Aid to get your BLS card when you need it ASAP!! read more
