Emphasis there on supposed, since it…read morereally failed to follow through on presenting the valuable STEAM (Science Tech Engineering Arts Math) opportunities we had been looking forward to. Music was pretty much non-existent. Art was just someone visiting the class once a month. We figured the first year or two, they might be developing, since it was a brand new school. But chaotic leadership changes and a lack of the specialty programs promised was extremely disappointing. Then the pandemic hit. And, even in the second year, they had an abysmal program that was not at all cutting edge, which you would think a Science/Tech school would be on top of. We ended up moving to CAVA for that second year and were SO glad we did. They definitely had their stuff together, since online is exactly what they have been doing all along. I was even more happy that we left STEAM when we did, as the year students returned there was a huge problem with bullying and behavior issues. Still looking for a strong in-person program for my soon-to-be middle schooler. But, definitely glad we left STEAM. Would have LOVED it if it had lived up to its promises.

This school is not a safe environment for children. My child recently went to this school. But I…read morehad to take my child out of the school and homeschool them, and I had to take them to therapy after repeated bullying. My child would often come home crying and would refuse to eat. When I finally got my child to talk, they said the food at school was moldy and sometimes there were bugs on it. The teacher and PTA did not stop my child from being harassed. I am very sorry for the children that still have to go there.

This school is a joke. The kids are on computers all day and the parents are expected to do most of…read morethe work. My daughter is in first grade and she hasn't had one day without homework. I had to take her out of gymnastics because she has so much homework. Sad thing is that's not even the worst part. The bullying at the school is completely ridiculous. The kids are get no consequences for bullying. I pick up other kids besides my own who all have complained about bullying and all in different grades. From kindergarten to 8th grade is a major issue. There should be zero tolerance for it. I'm fed up at this point because I've had students personally write me about how bad the bullying is at that school and how they are still traumatized.

It seemed like a great school until they completely screwed my daughter out of her chance at getting in to any college or university. She was given classes she didnt need and when her teacher left the school we were never notified until several weeks later. During those weeks her assignments and tests were locked which meant she couldnt move on until the teacher unlocked them. Since the teacher wasnt there anymore, my daughters emails to her teacher went unanswered. Several weeks later i received a phone call from her new teacher introducing herself. Assignments were FINALLY unlocked after the new teacher figured out how to unlock them. All the time my daughter wasnt able to do her assignments and test showed "idle time" which meant she wasnt doing work like she should be. She finished the year then decided to go to in person school for her sr year. We found out when we requested her transcripts for her new school, that her grades on her transcripts and her gpa were way lower than they should have been. Shes emailed and called the school several times and the last time received an email from the "principal" that i cannot believe would ever write like that to a former student asking for help resolving the issue. Shes a joke like the rest of the staff has become. They all have always been so kind and helpful until the last couple years. We have a couple staff members that have remained helpful to us and have said theres been several changes in staffing that have caused the changes in rude staff members that dont hold up to the same standards that they used to. My daughter has been denied several admissions to universities and colleges specifically listed as it being her jr year gpa which was not her fault. Admin is a joke there. For my daughter to reach out for help and basically be told its her fault and be told off by the principal, is ridiculous, embarassing, and sickening. This is her career. Her entire life put in hold due to a power tripping principal who should not even be in her position

I remember last year when i was driving pass this place, I noticed that it wasn't even Lathrop Annex anymore. Most of the portables were gone and all that was left was the "Office". I just couldn't believe it. Was it because 2 other schools opened up in Lathrop too that they needed to just downsize by just putting K-8 in Lathrop Elementary? Anyways, I remember getting in trouble here a lot and getting sent home for all the wrong reasons. One for sticking out my tongue at the teacher LOL. The other time was when I was digging in the sandbox and for some reason there was some boy behind me too that as I was digging, all the sand was going in his yes LMAO. He should have known better not to go behind me while I'm digging in the sand. I used to be Student of the Month all the time. I miss going to the book fair which was my favorite. We used to always get those book catalogs and would always have to buy something since back then I loved reading. Another thing I loved was the annual carnival that they used to have here usually during the month of May. They had cotton candy, lots of bouncy jumpers, a rock climbing wall, and other good stuff. That was one of the things I used to look forward to when I attended the annex and the elementary. I met most of my best friends here. We all attended the same elementary and the same high school. They were the reasons why I loved going to school. Overall, this place had so much memories.
